The business pre-dates the county ownership of the airport. The current airport was owned by Cornell and called "The East Hill Airport" to distinguish it from the "downtown airport" where Cass Park is located (Hangar Theatre) In 1960 the club constructed the current building on Brown Road and bought a fleet of Piper Tr-Pacers. The club migrated more to Cessnas in the 1970s and became a Cessna Pilot Center and became an FAA-Approved (Part 141) flight school. East Hill has been known in the Upstate NY area as the source for professional flight training for more than 50 years and has over 200 members.

He was good at analyzing the small patterns in my driving and train me to a point where I became very confident. I could tell he cared that I have the highest chance of passing. However, the ABLE 2 driving school as a whole is a mess. They are so uncoordinated, and it's quite frustrating. I had lessons scheduled twice a week, and there were times when I didn't have a lesson scheduled for the following week, and nobody told me why. Even my own instructor didn't know why. It could be that the instructor is not available someday, or someone else is doing a road test with the car you drive, etc... It's like they cancel lessons without telling you. I currently have two lessons left, and I am approaching my road test. Since my road test hasn't been scheduled yet, I had no idea when my next lessons would be. So, to fix this, I called and scheduled a lesson with Kim, and few days later I called again for conformation, and I was told that I have zero lessons scheduled in the future, as I was told "I don't know, I can't help you" in a clueless fashion. It's like they forget to write things down. Also, be ready to cycle between three different cars. I didn't really have the opportunity to get comfortable with one car. At the hefty price that I paid, that would surely be appreciated. The only good thing about this school was the instructor's ability to instruct, and that's that matters most. Just be ready to deal with a ton of nonsense on the back end.

Yes, things have changed over the years with the owners changing but the instructors and classes have remained the same. Cindy has been nothing but helpful every time I call or email her with a question or issue. I had no problem finding out what courses I took there and was also able to get a copy of a certificate I needed to send into the state. There is a fee for obtaining the copy but that is normal business practice. A college isn't going to send you your transcripts or a copy of your diploma free of charge so why would anyone expect this to be different. The courses are offered in a sequential order and sadly if those courses don't have the required minimum number of students they can be cancelled. Bob was gracious enough to let me sit in on a class I had already taken as a refresher to me taking the State exam. I look forward to taking more continuing education classes there in the future.

The prior owner, Frank was well thought out and meticulous on the course offerings and overseeing the student enrollment. The new owner, Bob Smith appears to be adrift in a sea of dementia. I paid for a course that was supposed to take place in February 2018, and I was notified less than a week before the course was to take place that it was canceled. Ok, these things happen. I will re-schedule. However, I was not prepared for not being reimbursed for the course fee, and then lied to 4 times on the phone that "the check was in the mail" to reimburse me. Bob Smith appears to be nothing more than a crook, a cheat, and a dishonest businessman. I strongly advise not taking any courses at The Professional Career Center.
