I grew up eating Szechuan's almost every week elementary through high school. The owners, Amy who works the register and her husband who cooks all the wonderful food, remembered our entire family's order by heart every time we called in to place a to-go order. To this day she asks about everyone and knows where we've moved to, what we do for work, our kids, spouses and ex-spouses, etc. I moved to Houston 12 years ago but still make it a point to drive up 1-2x per year to try and eat here when I'm visiting family. She said more and more people are opting for "Asian fushion" and not interested in traditional Chinese food anymore. Without enough patrons and the cost of ingredients increasing, they are considering closing after this Christmas. Best case scenario, they may survive until next Christmas but with tears in her eyes tonight, she sounded doubtful. If you're from Bville or not and you like Chinese and mom-pop shops, make sure to show your love by eating there and often! Maybe slip them some extra cash if you feel led. I love Amy and this restaurant and don't want them to close for any reason other than they want to. read more

This place is amazing! The owner is such a sweet lady, she takes time to visit with the customers and makes you feel at home. The food has been delicious each time, the waitresses and the sweetest young ladies with wonderful people skills. I enjoy eating here, the atmosphere is relaxed. It's not very big, which is nice, I like the cozy feeling. They offer carry-out if you want that option. First time customer. Lived in Bartlesville for just over a year and had only tried Panda Express which I've had plenty of times in airports. Chain tasting cookie cut, cooked somewhere else and the bag was heated up. This is not that. Great small business. Miss Ami (I think that's right) is a hard worker and runs a tight ship. I had the Kung Pao chicken and a spring roll. I forgot to ask for fried rice instead of white but after realizing my mistake I rolled with it. My old Chinese joint where I used to live would roll their eyes when I asked for fried over white. More work for them I suppose. Surprise!!! Miss Amy gave me fried rice. She was so funny. "Hope you enjoy. If not don't call me." Ha. My only suggestion is for them to strengthen the iced tea. I've always enjoyed Chinese restaurants tea as it normally has a punch exceeding McCalisters. It was just normal bland iced tea. I still gave it five stars since I'm tickled to find good Chinese food in town. read more

I tried this place while doing clinicals in Bartlesville. I was feeling Chinese food and it was close to the hospital. One of the employees recommended that I get the sesame chicken. It was pretty good, the right amount of crispy and breading. The pices were thin and the flavor was pretty sweet but not too sweet (I would probably prefer a little less sweet). It is different than other sesame chicken I have had other places but a nice change. It tasted alright warmed up as well. It easily made two meals for me and the prices were great for the serving sizes. It also came with a bowl of soup (I chose wonton soup and it was good). They were not overly busy during the lunch hour and had my food ready in under 10 minutes. I would definately recommend this place and would return if I were in the area and craving chinese food again. read more

Solid chinese food that's a combination of legit chinese and American chinese foods. I hear the spicy green beans are good esp with meat added (upcharge) to it. I'm chinese so I tend to order dishes that I don't cook at home eg salt n pepper seafood. read more

We were craving Chinese food, so decided to try Szechuan due to all the good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. It is currently only open for takeout due to Covid-19, and it was very busy. We were told 15 minutes but arrived early so waited a while. There was a steady stream of people coming and going, and the phone was ringing off the hook. The lady who seemed to be doing everything apart from cooking was amazing. She was having to juggle everything from taking orders over the phone, taking orders from walk-ins, answering questions, tallying the bills, taking payments, taking orders to the kitchen and bringing back the food. I was tired just watching her. Anyway, the food came out piping hot, all nicely packaged and stapled in a sturdy paper bag. All the individual containers were tied in plastic bags, and the portions were HUGE! There are only two of us but I think we had enough for the neighborhood. Most of it went into the freezer as it won't be wasted. We got the Triple Delight, Beef Lo Mein and Combination Rice, which we didn't need as rice was already included. The lemon chicken was fantastic! We also got a spring roll which was yummy. None of the food was greasy, as we have experienced elsewhere. Just crispy, tasty and well-packaged. We will definitely be coming back! Oh, and by the time we got our food, people were being told their order would take an hour, so be prepared to wait if you go on a Friday evening. read more
