This review regards their lunch buffet (always my choice). I have never had a bad experience with the lunch buffet. always a good selection of dishes. some spicy, some not. I like flavor, but not spicy heat. There are an abundance of options. Also a couple of soups (egg drop my favorite, mix of egg drop with wanton for my mom). There are also fruit and sweets for dessert. My standard is their ice cream and an almond cookie. My true love at this restaurant is having a small amount of many tasty oriental dishes. Service is always polite and considerate. When I dine alone with my e-reader, service is unobtrusive. Noise is not excessive, and i appreciate the tall booths to give a bit of privacy. This place has been around in Owasso. It usually is the place where no one can agree on a place so you just go here and this is what happened with us. I will say there is a lot of variety here to choose from but the quality is lacking. I feel like everything is just kind of cheap the food is not the best and the temperature of the food was cold. Kind of weird I know orange chicken, sesame, chicken all of. Maybe the burners weren't working or something the ice cream machine was broken. The salad bar was lacking. I feel like it's a little expensive. I mean four of us ate here and it was $100. I had been here before a long time ago but it was not good and my in-laws wanted to come here so we dreaded it but our experience was the opposite! The food was actually good, not everything was fresh but it was definitely tasty. Fried rice to lomein to chicken wings -- delish! Servers were pleasant. If you enjoy garlic, ginger, fish sauce, and lemon grass, the food is lacking in traditional Asian spices. I was happy eating green beans, broccoli, and mushrooms. However, my teen tried all fried foods and left most of them on the plate, because they lacked flavor. Oriental Pearl's food is best suited for those who like less traditional Asian flavor. Looking from the outside, I was very skeptical of this place. However, upon entry I discovered a magical environment reminiscent of the Chinese buffets of my youth! The space is very clean and the servers are helpful and attentive. Prices are not bad considering the amount of food you can get. Quality of food here has really suffered of late. They must have changed kitchen staff because someone back there has no idea what they are doing. I recently took out shrimp with lobster sauce which was disgusting. The sauce was so watery and there was alot more nasty fake crab than shrimp. Came back after giving 1star. This time it was busier and the food was warm, which definitely made a difference. The food had better taste and honestly it was your standard Chinese buffet. But no more than a standard buffet, and I love buffets, so anything that gets 3 stars, I will try it. I'll even go down to 2.5 stars. But I've noticed once 2 stars are achieved, then it's usually no good. Hitting 2.5 stars is a honest ratio achieved by this restaurant. There is a good selection of food. The decor is uninspired and boring. The same could be said for the food. The food was bland, tasteless, and only vaguely warm. The spring rolls were cabbage covered with a wonton wrapper and fried. Just cabbage! Zero flavor. The best thing I found to eat was the fried rice, which was ordinary, but at least had some flavor. Service was okay. I had to laugh as I left and noticed a sign that said, "Buffet to go does not include container. Container is $3.00" That brought the price up to pretty much the same as eat-in, but you get no seconds. This place is great. The prices are a little bit more steep than some buffets in Tulsa. Service is always great, always clean from what I've seen. Food stays pretty fresh. Wish they had the coconut shrimp on the lunch menu though. And their Togo prices are basically the same as if you went in and ate which seems a little silly to me. read more

We were very surprised... A Chinese buffet in the middle of Oklahoma. We tried this route before. We didn't get food poisoning, so we figured we would try it again. But this time let's go to a smaller town. Staff was friendly... Buffets were smaller, but the quality was much better. The food consistently came out fresh... Sushi was edible... There was a Mongolian BBQ, but we did not partake. Although, next time a plate full of vegetables and some garlic sounds yummy. We ended up leaving our baby's bottle in the restaurant... We came back a half hour later and they had saved it. For all the Owasso has, I would recommend this. We were still feeling great the next day. read more

I'm not sure what's happened to mainstream Chinese buffets in America, but they're pretty much all the same. Pretty sure most of the items on the buffet line are precooked and reheated, or at best frozen and fried. That's not to say that some of it isn't pretty good. Most is. Oriental Pearl is pretty much the only spot left in Owasso that offers the 'mega' Chinese buffet. Also included is a fairly lackluster attempt at sushi, and a pretty passable mongolian grill. If you complain about what you get on the grill, it's your own fault, since you pick the ingredients. OP is pretty much the place I go to when I want a shrimp fest for lunch, since they have several varieties. First off, there is a horrible pricing issue. When we got to the restaurant the waitress asked how old I was and I said ten and my two parents were adults. At the end when we were gonna leave the price was 50 dollars. Keep in mind this a buffet. And from 1-9 is 8 dollars. 10+ is 16 dollars. The price was way over then what we should've paid for. We have eaten here in the past and were treated great by the wait staff. Stopped in today for a mother-daughter lunch. As we were finishing up generally the wait staff would bring our ticket and say no hurry but not today. Today we had not even finished eating and the wait staff brought the check and insisted on payment at that moment right at our table. That being said, since there is no competition, I think they've lowered their standards just a bit over the past years. The service is usually good. The food is mediocre -- not great, but not terrible. The restaurant seemed clean enough. The prices are high and for some reason a buffet to go is more expensive than an all you can eat buffet, eventhough it's only once trip and they have a list of buffet items that you're not allowed to get on the buffet if you're getting it to go. But the part that really bothered me today was how my family, party of 5, was heavily monitored by staff the whole time we were eating. It seemed like they were waiting for us to steal the silverware. The constant hovering near our table by two staff members for no other reason than to keep a close eye on us was very uncomfortable and rude. We'll go to Panda Express next time. read more

We visited last night as part of Girls night (around 6pm on a Friday) with my sixteen year old daughter. With the iffy-ness of the reviews as of lately, I didn't know what to expect. However!! - it was DELICIOUS!! All the food was fresh and flavorful. Nothing was soggy or burned. I had a lot of protein - pork gyoza, chicken skewers, crispy fried shrimp, hot and spicy shrimp, and also some of the mushrooms. I was in heaven. This is a very busy better in the heart of Owasso, OK. The price is fair and the food decent stuff for a buffet. They offer non-raw sushi that is 3.5 out of 5. The have a girl and a raw bar, mix up your favs, take it up and the grill operator fixs you up on a flash, you go back and pick it up once it's done or you can watch. My grandson loves to watch, my grown sons like the drop off, fix another plate swing by to pick up method. They have a few round tables that allow large group to sit down family style. We enjoy that as we are The Knights, and that makes us The Knights of the round table....(corney joke my kids hate I am sure). Staff is friendly. Bathrooms are as fancy as they come in the womens, reminds men of a winery, why it's like that I have zero clue. Good is good, spices good and a little frozen yogurt for desert. Typical chinese food buffet. One if the reasons I go here often is the hibachi bar. I get to customize just to my liking and I know it will be hot and fresh. Only wish there were more flavoring sauce options. One of the other reasons: the wonton soup. The best flavored broth I've had in a long while. The meat in the wontons is pretty standard and not to my liking, so i just eat around it. The other item that has been consistently great and flavorful is the salt and pepper shrimp. They are above average,in my opinion. The buffet is decent sized, with typical selections. A few different options though are the clams and crawfish. There is a small sushi selection that's pretty mediocre. Lots of fresh fruit options for dessert as well as a few pre-fab cakes and an ice cream machine. We came to eat on a Sunday with family there was kind of a crowd. All children above the age of 10 are charged as an adult no matter how little they are and that price is around $10-$12. There was not a large selection of Chinese food there was more sushi and PHO and hibachi grill. The food was lukewarm are not very hot didn't seem fresh. The waitress constantly refilled the drink barely cleared plates away barely brought napkins more consumed with filling the soda over and over and over. Then Didn't offer any to go drinks. I left my food at the hibachi Grill to be cooked and walked away to make a plate upon returning my food was still sitting there. I guess if you don't watch them cook your food it won't get cooked.
