At last...great Chinese food in Omaha! They've been around for twenty years. I came in for a late lunch and asked for a recommendation. Owner asked how spicy and whether I wanted chicken, beef or tofu. I went for spicy shrimp and that is exactly what I got. With scallions and broccoli to offset the heat. Very good. Has become my regular takeout order. Before the shrimp arrived, I knew everything was going to be ok when I tasted the hot and sour soup. Just the right amount of heat and funk. Passed my litmus test. And they include great crab rangoon on every entree for no extra charge! Hot and sour soup was inedible. It had so much white pepper it almost knocked you out when opening the container. Steamed dumplings and crab wontons obviously low quality convenience product. Sesame chicken was obnoxiously sweet. Hot braised chicken was cheap prebattered tempura chicken drenched in sauce and mushy. Spent $55 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Threw most everything in the trash. Not sure where all the 4-5 star people were eating. This was NOT that place. Food was fair with very small portions. My Mongolian beef had about as much meat as a McDonald's cheeseburger. Also, something that really bugs me, there is a difference between a spring roll and an egg roll. You are serving spring rolls! There are listed on your menu as an egg roll. Ate here the other day and it was underwhelming. Crab Rangoon was stale and Sesame chicken was so sweet I couldn't eat it.

As soon as we walked in there was a red flag, no one else was here. We sat down and got our waters, and as soon as the waiter walked away one of them let out a fart. We ordered our food after about 20 minutes of sitting there, and we had to flag down the waiter (while being the only customers there). The food was alright, the entrees do come with a side if rice which wasn't mentioned on the menu or anywhere so we had ordered a side already. Also, the "fountain drinks" are bottles of pop and a cup of ice. We paid and it took about 15 minutes to do. The food was good, but the service ruined the experience. read more

I had not been for a couple of years since my office moved, but took my daughter for lunch during a Christmas shopping day. It's ok, I enjoy the use of vegetables, not everything is the nasty covered in cornstarch and fried crap that I see everywhere else. I have yet to try the hot and sour soup. I don't enjoy getting fried rice. I was not given the option of non-fried rice last time. That grosses me out. For lunch no need to order an egg roll, one is coming with your meal. Saw that Szechuan Express had advertised that they would be open Christmas day. However, the restaurant was severely understaffed and it was chaos in there. There was one poor girl in charge of putting together the carry out orders and serving the entire restaurant. The carry out line was ten people deep the entire time. The people at the back of the carry out line were still there when we left. As for ourselves, we attempted to dine in. We could pick up on the chaos just sitting at our table. The table next to us ordered "family sized" portions but they all received single orders. In addition, they ran out of crab ragoon and egg rolls, which apparently come with the meal. As for us, we left after 30 minutes when we hadn't even be given a menu to look over or being asked for a drink order. I'm sure the food is great but please don't advertise in the paper about being open on Christmas if you aren't going to prepare properly. read more

This place was amazing! My mom and I came in 30 minutes before close expecting the leftovers from dinner time. We were very wrong! I ordered the wonton soup and Kung po beef, shrimp and chicken. It was the best Chinese meal I have ever eaten!! Ever! My mom had the garlic seafood trio that came on a warmer to keep her food hot. It had the most delicious flavor to it. I worked at a Chinese restaurant for 2 years in college and thought that was the best there ever was until I ate here! The vegetables were fresh and the sauces were excellent! I found this restaurant via Yelp and thought it would be a good experience to try since I am not from the area. I ordered tea to drink and was very surprised by it. The tea was brewed very well compared to what I find at most restaurants. We ordered the Hunan Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. For appetizers, we ordered Crab Ragoons not knowing that our meal would come with those. Both of our dishes had quite a bit of flavor. While both definitely were spicy, it was not over the top. Sienfu and his wife are the best! Food is always good, very generous portions and cooked extremely quickly. Sienfu is very friendly and seems to remember everyone. My wife had a hair appointment at the place next door, so we decided to eat here for dinner and we are glad we did! She had the lemon chicken, which is much better than most places make it. The chicken is caramelized somehow and has a very good sauce. I had the pepper beef and had a lot of trouble putting the second half into a take home container (dieting). For the both of us, it was less than $20, but 2/3 of that was the lemon chicken. If you stay away from the specials, it would be around $12. read more
