First off I want to start off by saying the staff here was incredible. I was with my family and did not have the opportunity to get names, but every single staff member I saw was working hard, diligently, and with haste. Our server immediately greeted us with a great big smile, she took our drink orders and described some of the drinks to us. We put in an order for 2 spring rolls and 2 eggs rolls which were to die for. Perfectly crunchy, crispy, and full of flavor with great dipping sauce! They came out piping hot and delicious. I also got egg drop soup which simply cannot be beat. The soup was not too thick and not too thin or watery. The green onions were fresh. The crisped wontons had just the right amount of crunch. Together the dish was savory and delightfully flavorful. Now, my guest can often be difficult to please (as food must be extremely specific), but it's not ever usually a problem that a "good restaurant" can't handle. They handled it perfectly. We got the chicken with two winter veg, no sauce or mushrooms and add water chestnuts. It came out exactly that way. Perfect. Not only perfect but steamed to perfection. I also got the chicken w winter veggies--with sauce-- which is a brown gravy. What can I say OTHER than it was also perfect!! The meat was cooked to tender, not dry. The veggies were bright and deliciously tender, but still had a gentle crunch (the ultimate dish style!). My husband got the orange chicken and the spice was absolutely divine. The orange chicken sauce was pungent and sweet. If you like heat, this one is for you!! The chicken was crispy under the layer of aromatic, REAL orange flavored sauce. My other guest got the Mandarin combination plate, which featured a host of veggies, surf and turf meats, and a spicy brown sauce on top. Again, meat and veg cooked to perfect tenderness, with the veggies snapping and crunching just enough but tender enough to enjoy. Drinks were a teapot for the table (which may have been a bit strong for my guests, but I drank it!) A coconut punch (non alcoholic), which is a virgin iced Pina Colada. I didn't expect that, but I still guzzled it down. It came in a parrot glass, too!! So fun!! The rest of the table got coke and tea and were just as good. (Yes I tried everything). And we came here because we've been seeing their really amazing TikToks and want to contribute to bringing this WONDERFUL restaurant back into the folds of the community and wrap them in support. We used to come here quite often when we lived in Waldorf. We don't live there anymore and I truly miss it because the food is amazing. It's a good price and it all seems very real and wholesome ingredients. I like the Singapore noodles and the general tso chicken . Their drinks are really good too. You won't really get a buzz or anything, but they're tasty. I definitely recommend checking them out. The service is nice. Everyone is very attentive and the ambience is absolutely adorable. A lovely Chinese restaurant for this area. It is very nice and clean and has a large dining area for big parties. However, it is still mostly an American-style Chinese restaurant. It has the standard dishes you'll find, but it does have a mix of more authentic cuisine mixed in. And the dishes seem very well-prepared even if the dishes aren't necessarily authentic. While here, I had hot and sour soup which was very tasty. So many places screw up this soup so I'm always appreciative of restaurants who know how to do it justice. I then had Ma Po Tofu and also an order of string beans szechuan-style. Both were well-prepared and delicious, but they lacked the heat I'd usually find at more authentic Szechuan places. Even after asking for the spice level to be increased, I still had to add a copious amount of chili oils to both to get it a little more spicy. I don't blame the restaurant since their clientele are probably mostly non-Chinese unlike places I've been to in northern Va. The service was very good too. The server was friendly and accommodating. Nothing negative to say whatsoever. Overall, it's a good place, especially for Waldorf. I'll definitely come back just for the Ma Po Tofu, which is so hard to find in southern MD. read more

We heard we should try this place from a few people and its always busy. Solid 3 here. Got 2x general tso chicken with fried rice and egg rolls. We tried the crab rangoons but the pastry on the outside was really really flakey. Not our favorite. The fried rice just was tasting of soy sauce, no real flavor besides that. The chicken was actually cooked perfectly for the entree. It had a great amount of sauce. Our chicken was not overcooked. It was phenomenal if we just got it a la carte. The fried egg rolls were bland too. Unfortunately we did just get over being sick, but we could taste everything. We want to try this place out again! Being new to the area there are a couple of things immediately scope out: a great Chinese food restaurant and a delicious donut shop. Today's quest led me to Szechuan to sample their food. Given their name, I got Szechuan chicken. It was okay but it was hard to get past the tomato-paste flavored sauce. The Kung Pao chicken was also not the best. The chicken had an off consistency texture-wise, and the dish had a stronger than expected smell that was not overly appetizing. It wasn't horrible by any stretch, but it definitely didn't leave me wanting more. I saw their facebook posts showing how well they clean now after being shut down by a health inspector a few months ago. They seemed genuinely sorrowful and like they learned from the experience. The best Singapore noodles in Chuck county can be found at Szechuan Garden. Thin rice noodles, beautifully stir-fried, had just the right level of curry spice. The mix of shrimp, chicken, and pork was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables (bell peppers, onions, and bean sprouts) brought a nice variety in taste and texture. And on a quiet afternoon in Waldorf, Maryland, he found himself at Szechuan Garden, sampling a modest duo: egg drop soup and chicken with mixed vegetables. The egg drop soup made its entrance steaming, golden, and seemingly confident. But Famous Chef Thomas quickly noticed it leaned a little too heavy on the starch--more curtain than curtain call. The egg was well-formed, dancing through the broth in silky ribbons, but the flavor? A bit shy. A bolder hand with white pepper or a glimmer of sesame oil could've turned it into a memory. As it stands, it was warm, polite, and forgettable. The chicken with mixed vegetables, however, stepped up with more promise. The chicken was tender, respectfully cooked, and the vegetables--carrot, broccoli, snow pea--retained just enough crunch to show they hadn't surrendered entirely to the wok. The sauce, though, whispered when it should have spoken. It was glossy, neutral, and safe. "Too safe," thought Famous Chef Thomas. A splash of chili oil, a flirtation with ma la spice, and this dish could have earned applause. Service? Quick. Courteous. This is the oldest and best-known Chinese restaurant in Waldorf. I believe it's been open for more than 40 years. It was initially in another shopping center, but they bought their own place, which stands alone near the mall. I've seen other people write reviews about the food at this restaurant. They don't know what they're talking about. The Chinese dishes are very traditional, although I admit they added an entire sushi section, which is pretty intense. Hot and sour soup, one of the best, very traditional Crispy Szechuan beef. This is a unique dish where it's almost like a beef jerky in a way that would be made fresh with a spicy, sweet, savory sauce, delicious. If you'd like a dry curry, then Singapore noodles are tasty. Even though egg foo young is done exceptionally well with a good sauce. The one thing this restaurant seems to do more than any other Chinese restaurant, especially in that area, is that the ratio of cheap vegetables to meat is way on the other side. They give you tons of meat and very few vegetables unless you order a dish that's vegetables only. In other words, they don't skimp on the meat part. I would certainly rate them the best Chinese restaurant in southern Maryland. They are a bit more expensive, but you're getting a larger quantity and fewer fillers. First off the inside appearance was inviting and the staff helped us find a spot where the air was not blowing on us. The service was excellent. Unfortunately the soup with fried noodles and the dumplings were the only decent things we ordered. Since we were traveling, it was getting late and we had a ways to go, we just packed up most of the main meal ordered and separated it out at home for want we could tolerate from what we couldn't. The sweet and sour shrimp had the usual American/Asian sauce which we were ok with, however the shrimp had so much batter around each fried piece of shrimp that some of the batter was undone inside. Reheated at home , we used an air fryer and that corrected that problem. The special 1/2 duck with fried rice combo was our lease favorite. The fried rice was decent but the duck was really overdone and dried out inside. There was no moisture and we just threw it out at home. The egg roll that came with the combo was good. We decided we would see what changes, if any the Restaurant had made since receiving a Health Notice Violation a few weeks ago. We noticed right away they had made quite a few Remodel upgrades. The decor was beautiful as ever. Much to my dissapointment, I noticed that they had removed the hanging colored curtain-like decor from the Ceiling lighting and replaced it with a round beautiful lighting fixture. Both of us enjoyed our dishes we Ordered as usual. My friend ordered his usual, WALNUT CHICKEN and I ordered SCALLOP AND SHRIMP HUNAN. I also ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The drink tasted just okay, as it was somewhat "weak" in Potency. Overall, the visit was nice. However, I guess to make up for all the remodeling and upgrades made, their Prices have INCREASED quite a bit. Go and form your own opinion. We tried this place for the first time for takeout on a Friday night. I don't know how we are just now trying this for the first time! First of all, my husband brought the food home and it was still piping hot when we sat down to eat (mind you, we have little ones under the age of 5 so it took us some time to get to the table). I had the broccoli and shrimp. From my first bite, I knew we found our new go to spot in Waldorf. My meal was so delicious. I didn't eat my rice (intentionally... mama needs to chill on the carbs lol), so I felt good and full but not overly full. My meal was perfect and I look forward to trying this place again. I am impressed to find a decent Chinese restaurant in Waldorf. They have a great Thai in town as well. The dinner portion was quite small. Looked more like a lunch special than dinner. Ordered Hunan beef and got more broccoli than beef. (I think they found a sale) the flavor and spice were spot on. The water was sweet. Really enjoyed this. I had a hankering for General Tsos (my go-to for Chinese/American). This place did not disappoint. Started off with hot sake and hot and sour soup. The soup was great. Had a pile of fresh green onions on the top. The sake was actually placed in a container filled with hot water that heated up the sake. It was really neat and a great way to keep the sake at a hot temperature. I've never seen this in the few places I've been. And arguably the best part: the General Tsos. The sauce had such amazing depth and flavor to it. Strong onion taste from the green onions. Very lovely. The chicken itself was a little too soggy for my preferences. But that's okay.
