The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. The ambience is about zero as the business is 95% takeout.

I genuinely don't know how anyone could give this place a low rating! They're always fast, super tasty and very kind. First let me say though, I probably go here more than most because I live close by but I also have it DoorDashed. I (so far) have had the Singapore rice noodles (which actually do vary a lot, just at this store), the black pepper chicken, beef and broccoli, egg drop soup (probably gallons worth), the pink lady sushi, the spicy yellowtail sushi and some others I can't remember, the seaweed salad, eggs rolls and without looking at a menu is pretty much what I rotate through, consistently. My family has tried a lot more and we usually go together on the way home from the beach, when it's cold and rainy or just when the feeling hits. My husband only once has not liked his order, but has since before and after never had an issue. The service: they ALWAYS answer quickly, and take my order accurately. I've literally never gotten exactly what I asked for. The folks who answer the phone are direct and no BS. I loveeeee this. No angsty teenager rolling their eyes through the phone here! It looks like the location may have closed the majority of the seating areas down (perhaps it was open pre pandemic?). The store itself now only has a few tables, and you can dine-in. If you're on the go with a small family and want to stop in, this is super convenient, but don't bring a big group. There might be 15-20 chairs in total. As for the food itself, crispity, crunchity, creamy, sweet, salty...it has everything. It is all fresh tasting and perhaps even cooked to order (seemingly). They have to being doing MAD business because I've never even seen people at the other Chinese restaurants in the area (and to the two I've been in, I'll never go back), meanwhile there is always a line waiting to pick up their orders. The food here tastes exactly the way you imagine it in your head when you get the instant cravings! The sushi is incredible and extremely reasonably priced. Same for the meals. The portion sizes are huge. I can eat on one dinner for 3-4 sittings! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. (And always forget to take photos because I'm always too busy EATING!) read more

This is a carryout cafe. I purchase a large wonton soup that had five wontons and one package of crackers. The main dishes had cold spots throughout so they couldn't even microwave long enough. This will be my last purchase from this Carryout. read more

This is my absolute favorite place for crab Rangoons and their sushi is amazing. Their food is pretty flavorful compared to other similar places. I will say that if you want a beef dish go down the road to hot pot. Their beef is very tough and chewy in every dish I've had from the beef on a stick to the sesame steak. I will order everything else from here, though. Seriously the best crab Rangoons and sushi in our little area. I will add, I don't think they read the notes in their online orders, we always ask for things extra spicy and that never happens. But overall the food is pretty banging, the service is good and they've never messed up our orders and they are cheaper than hotpot with better quality...aside from the beef. read more

My mother and I have been searching for a good Chinese restaurant in Charlotte Hall since we moved here. The one we were using over in Mechnicsville has slowly become not the greatest. I found Old Beijing while I was out delivering for Grubhub and just had to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did!! It reminded me so much of the Chinese restaurant I grow up going to and I'd missed the quality food that amazing. We are new to area and decided to give restaurant a chance. I was disappointed with everything I ordered. I ordered pan fried dumplings. All of them were burned and tasted awful. I also ordered California Platter that was just ok- the rolls were all falling apart. My kids enjoyed their sweet and sour chicken and the husband had no complaints on his general tsos chicken. This place is pretty excellent. Most seem to come here for take-out, but my boyfriend and I love to dine-in. The decor is very nice and quaint, and the lighting isn't too harsh. The menu has a wide variety to choose from, without being overwhelming. Service is excellent, and the young lady responsible for taking orders is very attentive, without hovering over you while you eat. When there, we ordered the Manhattan Roll to start. It came out pretty swiftly, along with our drinks (that were always refilled swiftly). The Manhattan was a delicious, deep fried sushi roll with tuna at the center, drizzled with a spicy mayonnaise sauce. It was wondefully crisp and warm, but the tuna was still nice and cold- and we all know how gross warm sushi can be, so this was a nice surprise! For the entree I ordered the beef with onions and peppers, and my boyfriend got the triple sautee, a dish with scallops, jumbo shrimp and chicken cooked with fresh vegetables in a sweet and spicy sauce. The dishes arrived quickly, and were decent proportions for a reasonable price. Everything was delicious and all in all, it was a great dining experience! My only hangup would be that the rice is a little on the dry side, but that is probably just because of the amount of water it's cooked with, as opposed to it sitting out. read more

Can't believe it took me so long to try this Chinese takeout place. It was the last one around us I hadn't tried, and I delayed because I had been so disappointed by the others. BUT, THIS restaurant was GREAT!!! They have online ordering, give you an ACCURATE estimation of when your food will be ready for pickup, and the food was hot and delicious!!! Very good place to eat in southern Maryland. This is a usual spot for my girlfriend and friends to get a nice meal. The service is always on top of things but they do not hover over you. I'm somewhat of a general Tso's connoisseur, and this place serves an excellent version. We always dine in and the portions are big, and the chicken is always crispy, never soggy. I honestly believe that only Szechaun Gardens and Kodori can compete with this place for Asian food in the region. The decor and atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and usually never packed. Maybe for only buffets it will be busy. They serve great sushi rolls and have a lot of diversity on the menu. I think they're serving some Thai food now as well. All their plates have fresh vegetables which is a nice indicator of how an establishment is run. I will continue to come here for great food, great service and reasonable prices. I'm not saying this is the greatest oriental food known to exist, but they deserve some high praise for how well the business is run and the efficiency in which they take care of your order. read more

Today 1/31/23 I stopped in at this restaurant for the first and last time. I ordered General Tso chicken, combination fried rice a 8 wings. The place looked clean but was the only positive. When I got the wings they were a mixture of old chicken (turning yellow from being cooked days before) and two pieces they obviously just cooked fresh. When I returned to the store to show the worker she stated it's the same chicken and I told her no it's very old chicken mushed some newly fresh chicken. She offered to recook but I declined and left the chicken with her I did not want a refund just will never eat there again. When I got home the fried rice was also stale and the General Tso chicken was Juliet some mumbo sauce with soy. I threw all of it in the trash and would advise all stay away if you want fresh or decent food. read more

Update: so I had to update my review because even though the food was very good, on my last visit the guy making the sushi and cooking in the kitchen, was coughing without covering his mouth then proceeded to spit several times in the sink behind the register while making sushi. I hate to say the worst General Tso's I've ever had. The sauce was fine. The coating on the chicken was fine but the chicken was inedible. It was so overcooked and stringy, I threw it away. The spring rolls and egg rolls were delicious. read more

My wife and I went there when they first opened and we both got sick that evening so we haven't went back since. After a couple of years I decided to try again last night. We walk in and there kids sworm us at the door trying to sell candy. They hung out at our table with there box of candy. We ordered and food looked awesome but we both took two bites and that was it tasted terrible I'm not a say something person so I payed and we left the food there. I usually love this place. We get dinner or eat the buffet often. However, today was terrible. I know that when I come in at 2 you are at the end of the buffet day. I do expect the food to be hot. There was plenty of food in the bar for the three of us to eat, however every piece of food was cold. Not ice cold...but pee warm. I was very disappointed. For the second time we have gotten terrible food. The chicken chow mein was terrible. It was stuck together with what was like a jelly. Was too much thickening agent. Will never get takeout there again. Their food has just gone downhill along with their service. I gave them 1 star and that is too high. We tried it , but the little I had made me sick. Food is very good and I recommend eating there you get everything super fresh and excellent service is provided.

After ordering Pan-Fried Dumplings, General Tso's Chicken, and Egg Drop Soup, I drove the eleven minutes home, and practically devoured my chicken and soup. I noticed, however, that my father's dumplings were practically burnt on one side and only had a tiny plastic to-go cup instead of a huge side you would get at a different Chinese place that just happens to be right across the street. The wait was short and the staff was extremely nice. The inside and outside of their building was clean and tidy. They even had a flatscreen hanging above the corner where the wait area was. Altogether, I highly recommend Old Beijing Cafe, especially if you like your Pan-Fried Dumplings burnt. read more

Food is fresh and good but may use MSG in their fried rice. Chicken with mixed vegetables is desk with white meat chicken. Ordered a spicy tuna roll and got canned tuna and a small piece of some type of raw fish. Absolutely disgusting. If you don't have fresh tuna don't sell me a tuna roll. And it's obvious this wasn't the first time cause why would canned tuna be on hand in a Chinese restaurant? I don't like being taken advantage of and my intelligence insulted all for them to make $5 off of me. read more
