Love this restaurant. The food is phenomenal, the service is amazing. Kyle is our regular server, he's a great listener and always offers excellent service. All the meats and vegetables are always fresh. They have many servers with iPad taking our orders, the food coming out pretty fast. I think it is the best Chinese restaurant in Midland/Odessa area. The service and food were mediocre. I got the scallion pancake and the beef flat noodles both had a lot of Szechuan pepper and the pepper was too much that I couldn't really taste anything else. I took the rest of the noodles home and had to doctor it up with some soy sauce, garlic and brown sugar. Little note for the cook, a little goes a long way! read more

We decided to give Szechuan House a try for dinner. Well, we weren't disappointed! The ambiance is good. The entire building was remodeled, and it looks amazing. The service was great, and the waiter was very polite and cordial. My wife ordered the Beef Lo Mein, and I ordered the General Tso chicken. We also had the pork egg rolls and spring rolls. My wife was happy with her meal and so was I. The egg rolls were both quite delicious. We had a good experience on our first visit, and we plan to come back to try different dishes! read more

Amazing! So glad we finally tried this restaurant. Had heard it was great and we were not disappointed. The restaurant looked so elegant when you walked in, nothing compared to a fast food place. Very peaceful atmosphere. The waiter was very professional and polite serving us with care even though we came in closer to closing time. The food was amazing! By far the best curry i have had in Midland it was as good as the places i ate in the Dallas area. The kung pao chicken was also delicious! Perfect spice and sweetness. We were really excited to try this place after reading all the positive reviews. My husband and I ordered take out last night. All the food came perfectly packed and had the appropriate condiments. But as we started eating the food was inedible. Wonton soup was way over salted. Scallion pancakes very greasy and limp. Spicy chicken was 90 % breading and very over fried . Hot dry pot beef was swimming in oil and very chewy and off tasting. My husband did eat the two pork egg rolls and said they were ok. For $77 it was definitely a disappointment! We've been so disappointed in most restaurants here and have been missing the lack of variety that we're used to. We moved here from a big city with an abundance of choices in different cuisine. The one thing we really missed though was a good Chinese food option. Szechuan House is amazing. I really hope that they garner enough clientele to keep in business because their food is the most authentic we've had since relocating. One thing I have noticed though is that most people don't understand that at this type of restaurant they provide you with a plate and everyone chooses different dishes and then you all take a bit of each. Most people I witnessed at the restaurant were just eating their own plate and not sharing. Please order several dishes and share. That's the point of the meal. Ordered from Favor, food was fresh, hot, and absolutely wonderful. I am a native midlander and the top Chinese food used to be Kuo's, they closed it, and it went under new management. They re- opened and it was absolutely disgusting, not at all like the original Kuo's. Szechuan House reminds me of Kuo's. The food is rich and flavorful and portions are hot and fresh. I always order Chinese food from either a sushi place or Thai place bc I can't stand how much sugar and other bs Chinese restaurants here put in their dishes.
