A client next to me was talking loudly about completely inappropriate topics. It was racist and offensive. I could not believe what I was hearing. I moved to another part of the salon, due to social distancing, and was now directly next to the that stylist. Turns out it was not her client that was being loud and offensive, it was the stylist! She had a new client, and the diatribe started all over again! I was so offended that I gave her a look. She tried to back peddle and then actually said that if anyone wanted to protest, it should be the "Indians!" After we took their land and put them on land that couldn't even grown corn! I confronted her after my appointment and all she did was roll her eyes at me. She argued that she was entitled to her opinion and then tried to tell me everything she said was true. I said that I would not argue politics with her, and that while she was entitled to her opinion, that this was her place of business and I was a paying customer and I shouldn't have to hear about her narrow mindedness. She was incredibly rude and disrespectful to my face. My stylist and the receptionist both apologized for her behavior. They said she also has a problem with gay people. I called and spoke to the manager or owner, not sure which. She told me that there was nothing that she would do. She was aware of this stylists behavior, but she insisted there wasn't anything she could do. I will not support a business that allows such behavior from their employees. I would never subject myself to that hate again.

Leah was incredibly warm, friendly, and professional during the entire process. She assisted me with figuring out how much time we needed for each bridesmaid, and everything was timed perfectly. The day went so smoothly, and I was able to unwind and have fun with Leah, her assistant, and the gals. I had decided on an updo because the back of my dress was so ornate, and I was nervous because I typically don't like the way I look with an updo. Everything changed when Leah crafted my updo. She gave me the most beautiful, romantic, and timeless updo for my wedding day - I loved it, my husband loved it, and I felt gorgeous on my wedding day all thanks to Leah. I have also gotten a lob haircut by Leah - and it was amazing. I live in Washington, DC and have gone to some fancy salons in search of a great cut. When I visit the Hudson Valley once or twice a year, I prefer to go to Xo Salon to see Leah because she is that good - a talented artist with truly creative instincts.
