We used T&L for our baby shower this weekend. We ordered the hot and cold buffet for 50 people with delivery and setup. The delivery was on time and took about 30 minutes to set up. We didn't start eating until almost an hour later and the food was nice and hot! It was also absolutely delicious and our guests all raved about it. There was so much food that people got to take leftovers home, which was great. Overall, we absolutely loved our experience and highly recommend T&L if you're looking for a caterer! read more

Having to plan an unexpected funeral at the last minute, T&L catering company was right there to help and guide us to what to order. They were able to put an order together in just 2 days over the phone and internet with a high level of concern and compassion for the family. They have a huge menu of options from hot to cold for all venue types and helped us with selections and amounts with kind suggestions. When the delivery came, they set up efficiently and beautifully presented an eloquent spread of delicious food. The sandwiches had variety, the fruit was very fresh and the cheeses were delicious with a beautiful array of cookies. This review is long overdue. T & L was my Caterer for my outdoor wedding that was put together pretty much at the last minute when we had to change our planned destination wedding due to covid concerns. They food and service was amazing from the tasting to the delivery and our guests raved about the food. The food is plentiful!! They were even accommodating when, I at the last minute, asked could I pick up the appetizers early and they brought the food with gloves and masks to my car. Writing this from wedding they're catering. Some of the worst food ever. The hors d'oeuvres we blah!! Potato pancakes were just squished tater tots, coconut shrimp bland. Dinner-Sauce tasted like jarred sauce. The filet mignon has the worst marinade on it. Everyone at table spit it out. Tasted like it was soaked in vinegar. Best thing is the bread. Lots of full plates thrown out. Do not recommend!!! read more

We had Denise as our server, and she set things up in a timely manner, and was there for anything we needed. She was very nice, and accommodating. We hired T & L for our wedding celebration at the recommendation of our venue. Tom and his team were very pleasant and easy to work with - you can tell they're a family business. The pricing was excellent and the food was fantastic. We had a few special requests, which they handled nicely. A couple of negatives: a few of the tablecloths were stained or the colors didn't match (which we luckily caught the day before and was corrected before the event). The other thing was that, while we had an excellent maitre d', the on-site service staff didn't seem to have much experience and started breaking down tables before the event was over, which was not a good look. We're chalking it up to the difficulty of finding staff these days, and considering the overall professionalism of T & L, we expect that this will not be an ongoing issue. We would absolutely hire again and recommend T & L for any event. read more

WOW! This catering company is fantastic and I can't even put into enough words how grateful my husband and I to have used them for our wedding! My wedding was June 15, 2019 and everything was SO smooth because of them. We had wedding reception in the backyard of our home so we needed everything from them! From the beginning, Tom (the owner), was accommodating and extremely honest with us. Working on the menu, figuring out the amount of rentals needed and how much staff was super easy. The day of the wedding the staff was incredible - I received multiple compliments regarding the entire staff the entire night. To start, Jaci, the maitre'd, was the greatest thing for the night. She helped me every step of the way and ran the wedding so great! She was on top of absolutely everything! Although I didn't get to know the servers very well, they were so kind, helpful, and accommodating. I heard from everyone who spoke with them how sweet they all were! Each server: Tyler, Kim, Dan, Val, Alexander and Toni. Tom and Hector were the bartenders and I continued to hear how awesome they were!! Whoever was near them all night continued to rave about the fun they had with them. They were both so amazing - my bridal party went to Hector the majority of the night and couldn't stop talking about how great he was! Tom Jr. was the chef of the night and thank goodness, because the food was amazing! ALL NIGHT people would come up to me asking who the caterers were because it was some of the best food they've ever had. I can't stop thinking about the amazing hors d'oeuvres - bacon wrapped scallops...YUMM. We honestly believe the wedding would not have went nearly as smooth if it wasn't for this amazing staff. Where do I begin! I am one who looks at reviews for almost everything so I thought why not help others out. We were looking for caterers for our Wedding and I was discouraged with the pricing I found with many vendors. one thing I really liked is that they do offer most of their menus online which is a big plus when you are searching It saves you time and the vendor with getting an idea with cost. We found T&L Catering from two recommendations. We never tasted their food but we heard it was good from what they could remember. Tom was helping us choose our menus and was very honest and detailed with what to expect, he was very patient with me because we had constant emails through the process. Fast forward to the event and everyone raved about the food so I was very happy to hear about that, especially since we never tasted it. LOL. The tent we rented was beautiful and so clean, trust me people notice that and I loved that the tent had ropes tied to these big nails that were staked to the ground. I loved the look because I have seen others with ratchet straps all over as opposed to just the corners. For the price we paid it was just amazing! I have vowed to us them from now on for any future parties I will have. I even want to throw parties just to use them, like really. Oh also our Matre'D Georgeann was super great! we had a lot of mishaps at the wedding and she really worked well with us and made me feel at ease even though things weren't going according to schedule. Planning your own wedding takes a lot and to have someone take care of minor details really is major because after the day was done I was like wow, they really took care of things that I had forgotten about until the even was over. Silver Platter Caterers (a new division of T &L Caterers based in North Plainfield) catered my engagement cocktail party at my parents' house last weekend. They did a phenomenal job - countless guests asked us who the caterer was because their staff was so attentive and the food was so exceptional. All communication with Pam ahead of the event was seamless - the on-site run through two days before could not have gone more smoothly. Pam came and took detailed notes and photos of the house, capturing key information to share with her staff so they'd know exactly how to set up. We had rented a portable bar we found online through a totally separate third party vendor. When the bar arrived the day before the party in extremely poor condition, Pam went out of her way to provide assistance. She remedied the situation by giving us a white linen skirt which she said we could cut to cover the front of the damaged bar. Pam was so helpful during a stressful situation and her creative solution was much appreciated. The day of the party, Georgeanne and her team arrived hours before the event. They took over the kitchen and transformed the house making it beautiful and event ready. Both bartenders were awesome and all servers could not have been nicer - they thought of every little detail and the presentation of the food was lovely. From the passed hors d'oeuvres and cold station, to the paella, carved beef/ham, and sliders, all food was delicious. The dessert spread with a beautiful presentation of mini-cupcakes and assorted bite size cakes was also a massive hit - kudos to the Chef. Can't recommend them enough! read more

We used T&L for 3 summer housewarming BBQs and we couldn't be happier with the food or service! This was our first time doing at-home catering, and we took a leap of faith as we weren't able to make time to try samples. We got so lucky! Each time, they were responsive and delivered the food right on time. Everyone raved about the food, and they worked with us to accommodate different requests each time. Even when they forgot a tray of chicken nuggets at the last party, they sent someone out right away, and it was ready in time for our guests' arrival. A great experience! read more

Used Leon's Catering/T&L Catering (Not entirely sure of their name?) for a surprise party I threw for ~25 guests. The company is very professional and polite. I called with less than a weeks notice and there was no hesitation or problem with my request whatsoever. The food was delivered exactly on time and the delivery person helped set up everything and was also very professional. The food was very well received by my guests -- everyone complimented the catering and asked where I got it from. Of course, this isn't "gourmet" food, but the selections I chose were very reasonable and tasty and as mentioned everyone was full and happy. Also, I ordered food for 27 people, had about 25 guests, and there were way, way too many leftovers... And I'm fairly sure that everyone chowed down. So, in case you are nervous about having not enough food... don't be. Overall, I'd definitely use this caterer again for a similar event. read more

As I sit here enjoying plentiful leftovers from a party catered last night by T & L Catering, I can't make up my mind whether to eat the Chicken Francaise, the beef tips with mushrooms, or the pork loin, I think I'll have some of each. We thoroughly enjoyed the elegant buffet they presented, all at very reasonable prices. I chose T & L because of price, I will use them again, because the food was terrific. We also enjoyed the appetizers of assorted cheeses and Italian kabobs made with mozzarella, salami, tomatoes and olives. Our only criticism was the paella. We took a risk on this place only in that we had not ever had food from here, and there were no reviews on yelp or other sites. Boy, am I glad we did! Everything was great, from the person helping me choose our menu to the person who delivered, from the convenience to the pricing. And the food! People are still talking about how great everything was (the chicken francaise was excellent, as were the sausage and peppers - and I normally don't even like sausage!). There also was plenty - between the appetizers, salad, main course, and deserts, there was more food than an army of people could have finished, so we ate leftovers for the rest of the week (and they were still good!). T&L and all their staff that I dealt with were great! I booked a date for a surprise party for my mom at the River View Banquet center in Berkeley Heights. A few days before the party I received a call from Pam, telling me the hall was out of power and not sure if it would be in in time...as if I wasn't stressed enough after all the planning I did for this party and how I was going to get my mom there without her being suspicious, now this.. Pam informed me she had the Knights in Kenilworth available.. great for me it's right around the corner, but to have to contact everyone and possibly make the party a later start than it was originally was a concern to me as I had some people coming from 2+ hrs away, but it didn't happen!! T&L had the room ready for us to get in decorate and have everyone come in as planned for 6 pm.. the event staff were all very friendly and helpful! They all did a great job!! The owner and his daughter were great to work with. And all of our guest stated that the appetizers were very good. Unfortunately, our entree's tasted nothing like the colorful and seasoned to perfection food that my husband and I sampled months before when we hired T&L. The food was beyond bland and cold at our wedding and more than half of our guest left a ton of food on their plates; including my husband and I.
