I just had perhaps the most honest call I've ever had with a service company with T & M. My property has a septic system and was serviced and pumped by T & M a little over four years ago before I moved in. My system has been working perfectly in that time, but I've heard it's good to get it pumped or serviced every 5 or so years, so I decided to give them a call and schedule service. Marilyn was incredibly honest and a delight to speak with and was forthcoming in saying that she thought my system wouldn't need service for few years, but that if I ever have any issues in that time, they'll be right out to check it out. This honestly is incredibly refreshing in a world where so many in the service trade are pressuring you into services you don't need or want. Although my septic didn't need service this time, I will certainly be using them again and can state that the system that they serviced has been working impeccably for years. Earlier this year, T&M Septic installed a new leach field on our rental property and also pumped out the existing septic tank. They did a solid job and would have easily rated four stars. Fast forward to this week, they were called out to check their system since a blockage had recurred. Phone and text communication with Marilyn (co-owner) was straight-forward and professional. It was ultimately determined that the bloackage was in the supply line from house to septic tank and that their installation from earlier this year continued to function flawlessly. Unfortunately, the on-site tech Omar was completely unprofessional. He was running short of necessary garden hose on his truck and called to borrow ours (or even the neighbors!). We didn't even have a garden hose so work stopped while several additional hoses were evidently purchased nearby. But most egregiously, Omar returned with the hoses as I was walking down our driveway. He stopped to talk about what he found when I realized ten seconds later he was NOT WEARING A FACE MASK yet standing only FIVE FEET away conducting his animated explanation. I quietly asked him "hey, can I get you to please mask up?". He ignored my first request and when I asked a second time , he just looked at me and walked away mid-sentence. So, on the WORST day of the Covid-19 Pandemic (to date at that time) by any metric, the T&M Septic on-site tech can't be bothered TO WEAR A FACE MASK when in close proximity to their client and actually puts forth attitude when gently asked to do so. Marilyn was informed of the issue. I later heard back that the on-site tech defended his behavior by stating he was actually SIX feet away from the customer (without a mask) rather than FIVE feet. Words fail me on that. He is welcome to ignore science and basic public health in the midst of the Pandemic. We'll file that under "my personal freedom trumps the greater societal good". But he is absolutely NOT welcome to do so on OUR property and actively endanger my health and that of my family. Healthcare workers in Southern Arizona (and across this country) are WEARY of going to work, donning PPE to take care of Covid-19 patients and placing too many of them in body bags prior to end of shift. We then leave work and encounter a considerable number of our fellow Arizonans behaving poorly in public. So, FOUR stars to ONE star for the inexcusable display of self-absorption during this service visit. There are certainly other Septic Tank Service options available in Tucson. I would suggest that you thoroughly consider them instead. read more
