It's a small store that offers a wide selection of dried seafood, seeds, teas, coffee, Chinese herbs, spices, and more. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. We picked up their large sweet seeds (available both with and without seeds), some cuttlefish (regular and spicy), dried tako, and sunflower seeds. The seeds are especially flavorful and meaty. Finally, I visited T & T Ginseng for the very first time, not for the scallops, shrimp or abalone but for a specific item that I searched a few Asian stores for, before stopping here. I thought I would have luck at T & T. Browsing the store before getting help from staff member, I am surprised at what T & T has to offer. They have a nice amount of Asian products in there, some items I don't really know what they are. I got help but no luck they don't carry the item, but the staff did recommend a store that might ( no luck there either). I remember a few of my co-workers coming here to grab scallops and shrimps, It was nice receiving omiyage (dried shrimps) from here, they must of won big! hehe. Although I don't have plans to purchase any dried shrimps or scallops, the abalone caught my eyes, a customer, of course visiting from Oahu was being helped and she bought 3 or 4 scallops, it was interesting to see how much the scallops cost and the process of it. I believe it was over $300. for that purchase. I also wanted to try since I have never tried dried abalone before, I bought one and they were $300. a lb, ( wow!) my one tiny piece came to $72. They shredded them to the size you prefer and package it. Very interesting learning experience. Note, you will have to pay for the abalone first before the shredding and packaging. Good thing they take credit cards! Ended up with the dried abalone, tea and cherry blossom Red Li-See envelope I forgot to grab the XO sauce that was on special for $16. Excited to try the abalone, I had to share the $72. abalone story to the other half since he waited in the car. We have to just enjoy life and this a my treat to myself! hehe. It was actually different but good! The abalone would go great with cold beer, which I am saving the rest for. Great first time experience, although I didn't find the item I was looking, I am glad I made a stop at this shop. Staff were very busy assisting other customers but glad I didn't wait too long. Note, T& T Ginseng sounds like Asian health store but you never know what you will find here, you'd be surprise what this tiny store has to offer. My cousin from Maui wanted to visit this store so I went along to check it out. Wow! They sell herbs and herbal supplements, a huge variety of teas, dried seafood, candy and snacks, and a whole lot more. They even sell Café du Monde coffee from New Orleans at a great price. A few months late, but a review is a review. I've been to this place 3 times now and usually go for the Sweet Li Hing Mui. A fav at my wife's office. Prices are decent. On the last visit I picked up a big bag of dried scallops and Seedless Cherry Seed... that was awesome. Was buying the sweet li hing mui like so many others. They claim it is from Taiwan. This time I bought the five pound bag which had something crossed over with a sharpie. Wiped it away only to discover it is actually from China. They repackaged it in smaller quantities in bags with their name on it and it says Taiwan. If you don't mind that's up to you but I'm not buying it anymore. Also look at the difference in the ingredients they list on their packaging versus the one on the five pound bag which they don't include all the harmful stuff Makes my wonder about their dried shrimp as well read more

Every Chinatown needs at least one of these stores. The name of this store is a bit misleading in that they sell so much more than health-type items. Pretty good prices on dried chinese cooking items (e.g., shrimp, mushrooms, fungus, etc.) as well as dried snack items (e.g., plums, lemon, olives, etc.). While the variety isn't as great as places like Ichiban, the prices are much lower. The only "ding", not enough to lose a star, was that some of the package's price labels were not updated. Hopefully, this was a random limited problem but check your receipt against the labels for accuracy. Even with outdated prices, the value was still good. read more

I'm not really into Chinese medicine, so I don't shop for these kinds of things in Chinatown, but I'm sure you could find places that sell some of this stuff. I think Hawaii people come mostly for the dried abalone and maybe the lup Chong, but since im not really into those things, I just picked up a few things that I could get at home, but they looked cheaper here. They have quite a selection of teas. Loose leaf, bagged, chinese, Japanese, flavored, whatever you want. They also have a variety of instant coffee, dried fungus, shrimp, scallops, seeds, etc. the crack seed looked pretty good, but after the bag of dried dates, Goji berries and fungus that I got, I didn't think I had any more room in my suitcase. There were several workers helping customers they all seemed very nice and helpful. I saw several people buying hundreds of dollars worth of abalone. It smells like a Chinese store in here. You can definitely find some unique things and the workers will help. I'd come back if I needed something while I'm Vegas and will recommend it to people who are into chinese medicine. read more

Recently came here after hearing about this place in a local mom's holistic group and was desperate for some herbs and tea to help with inflammation in my body. Upon entering I noticed everyone else was greeted except me, that should've been my first red flag however I obliged and continued browsing the store. Since this was my first time I waited at the counter for help and the woman behind the counter looked me up and down and said "yes?" No greeting, no how may I help just a direct attitude as if I was bothering her. I asked if they could guide me in the direction of something herbal for inflammation and she then spoke to another co worker in another language and said "we don't have anything for that". I repeated it back to her to be sure I relayed myself correctly and she abruptly said "we don't have it!" This was very shocking as seeing several other local moms (not people of color) mentioned how they have all recently gotten custom herbal blends from this place specifically for inflammation. You can get good deal here for the American ginseng. If you have high blood pressure, the Korean Ginseng will not good for you, only American Ginseng is work on this situation. We were here for their dried scallop. The medium size scallops is good deal. We use it for soup and dried scallops fried rice. We also got some dried fruit for cooking. The Chinese herb is great to cook soup, especially the dried longan. It is good for dessert soup. We got some pre slice American ginseng. They are many item they sell. It is helpful if you already know what you want. Some things may be hard to identify just from browsing in the store. For example some things may go by different names: fo-ti will be Polygonum multiflorum or He Shou Wu. Reishi will be Lingzhi or Ganoderma lingzhi Obviously some things are easier to identify based on their appearance but it never hurts to be knowledgeable about the product you are trying to purchase before hand. Was in search of: Ginseng Root Astragalus Root Licorice Root Yes, anxiety. Not the hardest to get so they automatically win points for having the stuff.
