    Lots of yummy Asian drinks
    Lily N.

I randomly came across this little shop getting food from across her shop. What really captured me was that the name said sushi AND alkaline water so I decided "why not check it out?" Once walking in, I was pretty amazed that the little old lady that owns this shop is super adorable and sweet. While the shop sells a variety of EVERYTHING. Basically Asian fusion, there's a mixture of Filipino foods , Chinese foods, and Thai food. They sell sushi and alkaline water. I'm definitely coming here forever. There's no place that sells alkaline water so openly like this place and so cheap too!!

Best place to get water in Southwest Mountains Edge, Southern highlands area. Clean location and the water doesn't have any funky tastes!

Water Store / Express Sushi! I found this place with my daughter when we were trying to find a water store. Very friendly lady that works there and how clean the place is keeps me coming back. It's also a great little Asian market if you need noodles, meats, fish, snacks and other little ingredients you may need that can't really be found in the area this is where to go. I frequent this place for their water though. Clean fill stations even have the bottle rinse. They also have an alkaline fill station as well. 2 fill stations outside for after hours. The prices are great!

Don't let the name throw you, I wish I would've tried it sooner! The prices are as great as the quality. I was pretty impressed. The shop lady is very endearing too. She gave me free water with my sushi. :D

Came into this place to grab some sushi. Price 8 pc nigiri 9.99. Not too bad, quality is okay for what you pay for. The lady who sold it to me was very nice. She even gave me a complimentary bottle of water.

8pc Salmon Nigiri under $10. Fresh and quite substantial slices of salmon.

Ok, so I'm checking out the reviews here and the 1 facade photo of this place and I'm thinking, no thanks. But I "accidentally" came across Vegas Express Sushi because they supply Glazier's market with sushi... and they are GOOD. Their takeout sushi is superior to the dried out crappy stuff you can buy at Vons or most gocery/deli stores. Their cooked rolls compare to the ones you can buy at Costco, and their raw nigiri is very fresh. For the price, you are definitely getting the next best thing to stepping in a sushi joint. Also, they have awesome large party platters! I'll be posting photos of their takeout and menu this weekend. (FYI, this is a takeout place with a small Asian grocery, not a restaurant with seating.)

    Bummer!

Assuming you coordinate your order(s) with your table and don't order rolls with a lot of rice, it's totally doable to get a great bang for your buck here! We ordered an array of items such as the nigiri, baked green mussels, oysters, edamame, mini udon, baked scallop roll, yakitori skewers, The Shit, Umami Special, and plenty more! Drink wise: 10/10 would recommend the Strawberry Lychee Soju cocktail Nicole's customer service was on point during my family's most recent visit. Everything we ordered came out at a reasonable time and our water jug was proactively refilled without us having to flag her down. She even greeted my dad for Father's Day! That was a lovely touch, seeing as we came in right before the dinner rush. Coming from a brief food service background myself and in the interest of mindfulness, I try to make ordering a lot of items as easy as possible. It helps a to have a server that's personable and attentive. We're so thankful for her taking such great care of us! Ending up on the waitlist (20+ min for a table) is almost a guarantee here, rest assured Umami is definitely worth it.

If you visit during weekends, expect at least an hour wait during peak hours. My personal favorites are the Lisa Lisa, Sexy Girl and garlic tuna nigiri. For appetizers I order the spicy garlic edamame and veggie tempura. The staff is extremely friendly, and the service is quick! They try to have as much seating as possible in a small space, so it can get quite loud. But overall it's a comfortable environment.

Shigotonin is a delightful discovery off the Vegas strip (but may as well be on the strip…read moreconsidering the taste and quality of food here) in a small plaza. Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!

But if you're already there before 9:00p, you do not qualify for the happy hour. Perhaps the stupidest business model I've ever heard of. All it does is leave the people they got there before nine feeling angry. To add in insult to injury, when I asked about it, the hostess got pretty defensive. This tells me that I wasn't the first person to ask about it. In any case, we won't be going back, and unless you get on their mysterious waitlist for the happy hour, you're out of luck.
