Our last stop before heading out of town was a fry shop. We wanted to try a specific fries spot but they were randomly closed so we had to settle on 't Brugsch Friethuys. They coin themselves as serving fast quality food. It's a spacious spot with plenty of tables upstairs. The menu is split into combo deals, Flemish fries & sauces and burgers. - 2x Flemish fries (€4,90 large) - we added andalouse sauce (€1,50) which is a mix of ketchup, paprika and "secret mix". It reminded us of tartar sauce mixed with red and green peppers. Fries were okay but nothing special about them. Our one friend didn't like the sauce so he went down and got a curry ketchup (€1,10). If you want something quick and easy, this place will do the trick. Otherwise, you're better off elsewhere.

Best burgers in Bruge. Hell, they're probably the best burgers in Belgium. Tack on delicious fries, homemade sauces and friendly staff, and you've got my new favorite burger joint. The only possible negative is that cans of soda are a bit pricey, but you really shouldn't be drinking too much soda, so it's kind of a self-nullifying issue. My only regret? Not trying a "Bicky Burger" on my first visit. Apparently it's a legendary triple-meat Belgium creation that's deep-fried and topped with a trio of amazing sauces. I'm only in Bruges for a few days, but you bet your ass I'll be getting one of those puppies in the next day or two.

This place is great for a quick meal and an awesome place to try frites. They have a wide variety of sauces. If you're in the area, stop!

15 euros for one big fries and two drinks, quite unacceptable even by brugge standards... Fries cooked in vegetable oil, eek

With so many options, we were excited to explore what they had to offer. Today, we ordered the onion soup, shrimp and cheese croquettes with salad, rabbit with potato croquettes, and the beef stew with fries. Both entrees also came with apple sauce, which was an interesting and surprisingly good pairing. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and inviting, and the service was great. The portions were generous, and most of the dishes we tried were delicious. The beef stew was the highlight of the meal. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Eating it with the apple sauce created a nice balance and kept the dish from feeling too heavy. The rabbit was also very tender, it looked similar to a chicken thigh and drumstick, although you can definitely tell the bone structure is different. The apple sauce paired nicely with the rabbit and added a great contrast to the flavor. The shrimp croquettes were tasty, but the cheese flavor was not my favorite. The onion soup was also very different from the traditional versions we're used to. It had a strong, unusual flavor that felt a little harsh and even gave a slight burning sensation in the throat, so it wasn't my favorite dish.

We'd planned to have dinner here but did not make a booking and really lucked out with the last table open when we came in. Please, ensure you make a booking if you want to dine here. I had no idea how consistently full they'd be and felt grateful the entire time to have snagged a spot. When I tell you my fish stew has to be one of the top 5 things I've ever eaten in life, I am not kidding. It was so spectacular. I had no idea what to order and asked for a recommendation and this was it. This soup blew my mind, spoonful after spoonful it was the yummiest, most delish, comfort meal I've had in a long time. We had a very and tasty experience. Highly recommend.

Amazing bar down in a wine cellar with the best beers…read more From the street you would never know how awesome this bar is - nestled under a building you are down in a cellar that has an awesome vibe. The beers here are amazing with over 20+ on tap there is something for everyone - and some must try Trappist beers. I absolutely loved this spot. Only reason for not having 5 stars? The service. Although the place was relatively crowded, it was not very crazy at all especially when we first came in after opening and the staff behind the bar were kind of rude. I asked for a flight and they seemed annoyed they had to make one instead of just pouring 1 beer, and i was reading the menu and didn't have all my numbers ready to fire off - more upset. Additionally, my wife and I sat down at the bar about 1 hour after the place opened and we both had glass all over our chairs and now in our bottoms. The bartender was annoyed when my wife asked him to clean it - he said some glass thing exploded there before opening... so you didn't clean it? And then were annoyed customers had glass in their pants? make that make sense.

I also tried to order nachos and the bartender pointed me to small bags of chips from a display on the bar (I think they were Doritos--not what I expected). I decided to skip the snack. The second beer, Rochefort 6, was excellent, so the visit ended in a high note.
