I love TJ Maxx as a store, but this one is so hot and stuffy. It's the design of the building, but it's not the best shopping experience because of this. The lines are always very long and don't move quickly. For this reason, I don't recommend this location, not even on a weekday. read more

The racks were so messy it was so hard to find things here. And the lines were extremely long making it very difficult to checkout.

The associates at this store are miserable and nasty; they are always finding a way to yell at and accost customers bright and early in the morning. While looking around today, I was yelled at from down the aisle by a female associate for simply taking an item off of a shelf and looking at it. When I inquired further about why she was yelling at me, she just walked away and continued to stock the shelves. Since this is how they want to treat customers at this location, I walked out and decided to spend my money elsewhere. Also, the store managers at this location are always loudly gossiping about workers who are not present at the store. I've had nothing but awful experiences at this TJ Maxx location since moving to the area, and I have no intention of ever returning after the experience I had today. Do better! read more

On a Sunday afternoon we decided to visit this TJ Maxx to return a shirt purchased at another location a couple of weeks ago and shop a little. What a horrible mistake to choose this location. Firstly trying to find free street parking even blocks away is difficult at best. And if you just park in the center's parking lot you have to pay hourly fees. I thought we would be done at TJ Maxx in 30 minutes, man we were very wrong. There were only 3 cashiers working (with probably a dozen stations) and the long wandering line stretched down into the aisles. With my returning item in hand I decided to wait in line for a bit. We waited over 45 mins to reach about the halfway point of the line before we decided to leave. This has to be the slowest and longest wait time we have experienced at a TJ and Marshalls store yet we only made it to the halfway point. You would think the front end supervisor or store manager would have some floor staff help with the registers so the long line would be reasonable for waiting to pay customers but nope no one cared. I couldn't even return my item and had to pay an extra hour for the parking lot because of the long slow checkout line. We are never visiting this location again. read more

Make sure you watch your cashier very carefully and check your receipt before you leave or you will be charged for items you didn't buy! I was there this past Monday May 12th. We both had items to ring up at the same register and we asked for separate transactions. I put my mother's items up first while she was still holding my items, as the cashier was ringing up my mother's items he mentioned to another cashier to "make sure you get the items on the counter like the manager said to" I didn't think anything of this at the time. He packed my mother's items in the bag and then I put my items up to be rang up, all of our items were in the same bag. When we got home and were separating our items my mother looked at her receipt and we noticed she was charged for an additional item which we did not purchase nor did it get placed in the bag. We went over each thing we both got and counted our items and the mystery charge for $16.99 was not there as we have the tags for all of the items we purchased. We did try calling the store to speak with a manager and were told to just come back in with our items......no, one of the items was a suitcase, my mother is disabled and we do not live close to this location. I am also going to reach out to corporate and we have filed a claim with the credit card company as well. I did notice in another review that this happened to others as well. My guess is that they only did it with one of our transactions as to not raise suspicions on both. Definitely make sure you pay attention and make sure you are only charged for your items before leaving the store. read more

I frequently go to this TJ Maxx location. It's usually not as crowded and I find the atmosphere to be less frenzied here. The aisles aren't as messy and disorganized as other locations. This location is two floors big. I love perusing the aisles and finding items I didn't even know I needed. As with every TJ Maxx, I go in looking to buy one item but come out with twelve. They even have a free charging station in the first floor. So convenient for those times when your cell phone battery is low and you need a quick charge. We love TJ Maxx for their great selection of discounted brand items. And we'll continue to be frequent shoppers here. read more

I really like shopping at this branch just because I was able to snag some workout gears (dumbbells!!) and nice shoes that I couldn't help but buy! They have a nice selection of baby, women, girls, boys, and men's clothing. Their shoe section isn't extremely big but it's decent.. just don't expect to find a lot of workout/sneakers here. There's a decent selection of hair products, tools, makeup, beauty tools, houseware, beddings, and other home goods and even food here! The lines aren't horrible but can get long.. During COVID, note that you can only go in through the front entrance and exit out the back into the garage and number of customers are controlled. Also - they take Apple Pay!! read more

The layout of this place is very odd to me. Some aisles are clean and some aisles need a little more attention. The feng shui was completely off and made me feel like I was in a flea market. If you find something that you really like make sure you buy it because it may not be there the next day. Also be sure to check what you're buying just to ensure that there's no damages to the merchandise. The lines are not only atrocious but they're city concert long, and appears to move slow. It's also difficult to navigate through checkout because it's one narrow strip of customers and carts strewn about. There's no rhyme or reason to the checkout process. Terrible experience at this location. 45 plus minute wait to purchase because 2 out of 14 registers were open even though there were employees casually strolling around the store. Even the manager was just standing there. Everyone on line was pissed. The TJMAXX in atlas park is way better even though it is smaller but more organization and much better service. I will not per purchasing anything from this location because I don't have an hour after work to just wait in line. They need to most definelty work on that. Even the floor were sticky and gross. Its a nice place to window shop and browse for odds and ends. I think its great the train is so close by and there are a few other stores within this complex. I am not crazy about this little shopping hub because the highway is right next door, and for some reason, it always seem insanely chaotic here. Not the store itself, but just being outside before entering the store. Everyone is always in a mad rush. I think after the pandemic and possible PDST from COVID, people really don't wanna see people in a darn rush. I come here from time to time and always walk out buying something. This location is slightly off the beaten path. Once you locate the store you'll need to take an escalator up to the third floor to enter. On my most recent trip I found several interesting items. I found Duke Cannon IPA soap for $4.99. I found Bello evoo for $9.99. Hugo Boss men's cologne was only $19.99, and I found Pecksniff's Chamomile and Honey liquid hand soap for only $4.99. You can travel by subway to the 63rd Drive station, and there is metered parking not too far by if you drive. read more

I'd say it's about 70% clothing and accessories, 15% home goods, 15% other. I found a few interesting items here. This location is sizable, but not so large that you would have trouble finding anything. The line was long but moved quickly. read more

Came here rego center with the intent of buying new shoes. I actually stopped by century 21 first because they're options are more on the high end side. However, nothing really caught my eye so I walked across to TJ Maxx. Unlike other discounted stores like Marshalls, the shoes are not attached with zip locks so you can actually try and walking around in the shoes. The downside of that is that if the store gets busy (usually does), shoes get misplaced...I found one side of size 8 Coach ankle boots which fit perfectly, and I looked high and low for the other side with no luck. so I had to settle for a size smaller of the same design. The price was half of the original, so that was a plus. read more

I love the clothes there but today I was harassed 2 times by a security/ employee with a tjmaxx badge hanging around the women's underwear and bra area asking if "do you need any any help at all?" The first time I told him no thank you I dont need your help with a bra. Then some women that didn't speak English (she spoke Russian which I did too) asked me what did he say because he bothered her too and she was startled. After that I found a lady who worked there and mentioned it to her. She asked for his description and knew almost instantly who he was. Later on I just saw him by the register just staring me down. I wish I would have taken a picture of him or called the police. I was getting to closing time and I was scared to walk out and be followed. I dont know if this has happened to anybody before but this is very scary. I wish I could have thought quicker and took pictures of him and called the cops. Never ever have I have been to a store and a male stocking women at the underwear and bra section asking if they needed assistants. I will try to call the store tomorrow. I was just in shock. I dont want anybody else to feel unsafe while shopping. read more

Okay. Let's be honest here. This location has to be the worst Tj Maxx ever. The display and inventory is pathetic and sad. Shame on all Managers for keeping this location disorganized, unclean and mismanaged. It is embarrassing to shop here. Merchandise are thrown all over the store. Size of garments are misplaced and packages of items are opened and thrown back on the shelves. The cosmetic department is disarray and beauty products are used and opened! The Managers are rude and unfriendly and I have witness many of times of them treating customers in an unacceptable manner. They should all be fired from corporate. The staff behind the cashiers are nice and doing their jobs but they are being abused verbally and emotionally by the Managers who talk down to them and order them around. Once again, not my favorite TJ Maxx. I suppose TJ Maxx brings in items according to the demographic they serve in that location. A lot of boring, old career women clothes/menswear and pretty decent toy selection (for the families in the area) Luckily for me, I needed to pick up materials since I work with kids, and I got decent toys/games for cheap from them. I go there when I am bored, but I almost never get anything since most of the clothes are...mature-inclined. I really really try to avoid this store for a number of reasons. Everything is a total mess, they put damaged merchandise, like a ripped sweater on the clearance rack...wtf???? The sale section in the housewares dept looks like an a-bomb hit it. I gave it two stars for the jewelry dept, which would have gotten 3 but you have to scream for someone to help you for 15 minutes so I deducted a star. Great jewelry from very high end gold and gemstone pieces to nice costume jewelry. I go for the high end. And this is a secret so shhhh.....there is a clearance case or two with little red tags and you can find things at a fraction of the original cost. Let me just say: I love TJ Maxx. Every location varies, based on where it is and it is generally a store where you HAVE TO DIG. If you are lucky, you will find some great items for your closet/home at amazing prices. Of course if you come here on a weekend in the evening, it will be cluttered! If your shopping experience must be one where everything is presented in a nice, clean, organized fashion, this is NOT THE STORE FOR YOU. Since this particular TJ Maxx is in a mall, it gets a lot of traffic, leaving things disorganized and/or a lot of good stuff is gone quickly. I have also not had a lot of great finds here, but it's worth a visit if you're at this mall already. My recommendation: come early, be prepared to dig, and you will hopefully score some deals! read more

while in rego park i stopped at tj maxx to browse around the two floors to see if anything grabbed my attention and from the look of my full shopping cart i can say yes to getting grabbed . not as big or more of a selection as my regular westchester locations but close enough . the maxx is famous for having a little of everything from clothing, homegoods, housewares , electronic gadgets, food items , toys , footware, , etc. if you can browse around any tj maxx and not find anything useful then i really dont know what to say. i found a mini throw rug , small table lamp that my buddy wanted , gym bag that smells like lavender and a few other goods which all cost me less then 70 bucks. my only peeve is the long uneven line to checkout and having cashiers moving in slow motion aint helping as well. overall i enjoyed my visit to the max in rego park and when i am in the area again i will maxx it again . read more

Yesterday I had one of my best experiences at TJ Maxx in Rego Park Center. I go here several times a month and always find things that I like to buy. I may not do so but I definitely like to browse. Never had any complaints about customer service or cleanliness whatsoever. But yesterday something happened that made me want to leave this review! I met Diane, the manager. It was pretty foolish really, but I wanted to make sure I could return an item that I felt a little sentimental about in the case that it would break (since it had a little crack in it). Diane took her time to make sure I felt appreciated as a customer but also took time to listen to me regarding the item and was very sensitive to why I wanted it. Long story short - what an amazingly sweet human being, Diane is! I'm gonna make sure to see her again next time I go. read more

This is a brand new T.J. Maxx store, in the newly completed Rego Park Center. There isn't a very good selection of items at this cramped location. The College Point store is a lot better and more comfortable. For those with young children, beware, this T.J. Decent location. Convenient because it's right off the highway and has a parking lot. Also great because if you don't find anything here go to century 21! Love that they're under the same roof. First, I think the selection of clothes is better at Marshalls in the building next door. Second, the layout is a little confusing. But, I will say that you can find anything at TJ Maxx. A friend of mine was moving into a new apartment, so a month ago I asked him what he wanted, and he gave me the whole "oh no, you don't need to get me anything" bit. I told him I'd buy him a big ugly giraffe statue then. The joke went on, until yesterday, when I was to go over to his new place and help him set up. I searched Target and Daffy's and found no such giraffe. I headed to the home section of TJ Maxx and saw all sorts of animals, but didn't see a giraffe... until low and behold, I looked at the top shelf and sitting there is an ugly baby giraffe. This thing was at least a foot or more length wise (it was a giraffe laying down, not standing) and almost a foot high. I grabbed the thing with a crazy grin on my face and everyone in the store looked at me like I was freakin nuts, carrying a big giraffe to the register. So, I'll give it that. Still, I prefer the TJ Maxx on 18th street in the city when I'm looking for actual clothes and not creepy animal statues. Also, my friend found the giraffe hilarious. Great discount store in general, if ever I could find this location!! I get to the Rego Park Mall where jt is said to be and I walk through a very long strip with literally EVERY store to mankind. I pass by what I swear looked like a Carls Jr and thought to myself "Holy .... Did I wind up in LA? Had I gone that far?" So finally I see the Escalator all the way near Alaska and went up since I was told the store was suppose to be on the 3rd floor. Meanwhile no signs, nada. Yes to this store!!! I love a great find/deal. I've been seeing on Instagram so many people taking the Tjmaxx $50 challenge to buy an outfit for $50 or under. I love it and this place is definitely the place for that. There are so many cute name brand outfits and dresses. My favorite is the workout clothes. I live that they carry Nike, addidas, Calvin Klein and others. I can dress hella cute for super cheap. I love the section for home decor. I just feel like I can fill my little apartment with so many cute finds. read more

things I've bought here but am not particularly proud of: 1) "douchebag" sunglasses. I went as The Situation for Halloween two years ago. it was a necessary accessory. 2) a sweater for an "ugly sweater" party. I have a friend who thought it was a "cute" idea for a themed party. I thought I wanted to gouge my eyes out. but you do stupid things for friends, especially when they are willing to ply you with delicious homemade hot cider and latkes. neither of these items cost more than fifteen bucks, which is probably the redeeming factor. I checked out the other nearby stores but couldn't find anything that fit the requirements of (1) cost and (2) costume function. it's messy and disorganized here. avoid unless absolutely needed is my opinion. also, customers need to learn to move your shopping carts faster. I know Rego Parkistan is one of the few remnants of the Soviet Union still in existance, but these are not the bread lines of Moscow! read more

Horrible customer service! WOW! My family and I often buy from Tj Maxx in Rego Park. I've never been so disappointed. We went there on Tuesday, June 5th around 3 p.m. We were looking at some jewelry. We got to meet the most obnoxious person, with the most disgusting service. I said "Hello" so she would acknowledge our presence. She totally ignored me. I tried one more time, that's when she turns around with a sour face and responds: "I will come after I finish with this person!" Obviously, that was the idea. I only wanted her to acknowledge we were next. Then, after waiting 15 mn, I asked her again if she could call another person to help and again, she didn't respond. Asked again and she responded, with the same sour face: "If I could, I would have done it!". Like I am supposed to read minds. She should have nicely & promptly accommodate our need or at least to let us know she will be attending us soon. That's a great customer service, which you badly need, TJ Maxx! And highly trained people, opposed to the ones that don't enjoy their job and are rude. Then I stepped away to ask the cashier if they can send another person to the jewelry department. Meanwhile, I left my mother there. The representative purposely went to attend a different person, not my mother (my mother is from overseas so she is very shy). And when I went to ask her why she did that, she said: "Because you left!" I left but she saw my mother was still there for the whole time. Really Tj Maxx? This is the kind of people serving your business? In case you didn't realize, these people work in customer service and represent your business. I will not buy from Tj Maxx again. I felt very disrespected. Spoke to Peter, the manager. I don't know if he will do anything. They sold defective clothing and would not except a return. I bought merrel sneakers from th max and the sole came off after only one light wear. The manager refused to take the back because they were worn Now merrel usually makes good and expensive shoes, somehow I doubt that the shoes sold in Tj max were authentic read more

When I was there I was smelling cooking oil - very disgusting in a clothing store. You'll find some great bargains, but the folks who are shopping here is a reason not ever to go come back. I don't understand why people bring their kids with them when they go shopping, but that's not the store's fault. And I would like to mention that someone was trying to steal my expensive purse while I was checking out shirts on the rack. The icing on the cake was the long, very long, check out line. read more
