You can get many comparable and exact same items elsewhere for much cheaper. Shoes? Very well priced especially for their sale racks. Handbags? Some cute some very well priced and some in the stratosphere. Dillards actually caries real Luis Vuitton handbags and luggage but.... I am not an LV consumer. Clothes... great when there are sales. You have to watch for deals, coupons and price slashing before during and after holidays. I was just recently very successful with the purchase of a makeup bag that is perfect for my trip coming up. Normally I wouldn't pay $48.00 actually $52.00 for a makeup bag but I believe I will keep this one for quite some time. The lady that helped me in the cosmetics section kept me in her "sights" while I was shopping around the entire store... she didn't want to miss getting credit for my purchase. I liked her though... we had a laugh or two.

The preference in hiring is someone in their 20-35 years old range and preferably Spanish speaking. In interviewing potential new employees, loyalty to the job, never calling off, willing to work extra shifts, coming in early to work, working really hard and enthusiastically, being customer oriented, dressed professional in interviewing with a professional resume and cover letter, having college degrees, and having relevant work experiences mean nothing to the Gen Z and Millennial hiring folks. They just hire people they want to hang with, more like looking for new friends. This is especially true of Belk.

The issue is when they only have 1 check out open and maybe 2 or 3 self check outs. They now limit the self check outs to 10 items or less. If anyone has an issue on the self check out, they have to wait for the sole full check out person to be available to help them. It's a bad model to have the self check outs managed by the regular check out person. It leads to long wait times and a stressed out looking clerk. Plus if they have to help at self check out, then their line is at a stand still and vice versa. I like Target as a store, but the way they've been handling check out this past year has A LOT of room for improvement.

We encountered the rudest customer service person you can imagine. She asked us if we had called the number on our card for help. We told her we had but they told us we needed to take care of our bill in a store. She informed us we could not pay our bill with a credit card, which is totally fine, except her attitude and tone of voice were amazing for a customer service employee. She asked how much we wanted to pay and we asked if she could check our balance. She explained that she had no way to see anything about our account including balance, hoe we were supposed to be getting our bill, our billing address or anything to do with our account. Really? She was very rude and should not be in that role. The message about her not having the ability to know anything about my account was not her fault, her attitude was the problem. I will not shop at that store again.

I thoroughly enjoyed being able to actually walk through the isles ( 1 or 2 cartwheels) the isles were not so over stocked with items on the floor, or here or over there. I was able to actually see every item being displayed. I have been looking for crystals and rocks for so long and just about forgot about what I had been wanting , but then coming here I soon understood why nobody else has anything! They have so many crystals and so many different kinds of rocks and crystals and rocks! Prices are outstanding too! Not much of a "kids section" , but who cares they have entire other stores. It's the perfect store to shop aimlessly for that which you didn't know you need until you see it. Accompanying a friend, I wasn't searching for anything in particular. However, I wasn't bored. Most of the store is dedicated to clothes, which I didn't need, but I enjoyed looking at the special selection room of blouses and sweaters themed for Christmas. Purses, located at the front left of the store, also failed to hold my attention for long, but I enjoyed the selection of animal themed bags. Some of the car bags were adorable, but totally impractical for me. I especially enjoyed wandering the aisles of housewares, holiday items, decor, and linens in the back of the store. The clearance aisle, located in the back left corner, was bare. Next to it were lots of holiday themed pet toys. The store had a lot of nautical-themed decor for everyday and holiday. I found and purchased a cute turquoise elephant cookie jar and salt and pepper shakers in housewares.
