I found Ted on Angie's List and he was among 4 painters from whom I obtained estimates. Each gave their opinion on what they though should be done in the sunroom which was the most complicated area. Ted was the most precise and knowledgeable. He backed up his opinions with fact and logic. His estimate was not the highest nor the lowest. But he was the only one who broke down the estimate in a clear and concise manner enabling me to choose some or all of the options. He then emailed me a list of references to contact. All the references I contacted praised his work ethic and performance. He then came over with the contract and clearly explained what each section meant before we both signed it. The work was started three days later as he had promised and he sent his best painter, Jules, to do the job. Jules was amazing. His careful attention to detail, his respectful attitude and meticulous methods made things go smoothly. The entire job took about 5 days. At the end of each day, Jules cleaned up the work area and neatly arranged his supplies in a corner out of the way. He was the most easy going, fastidious person I have ever met. When there was a lapse in communication and he inadvertently painted the brick wall green instead of white, I called Ted and the problem was immediately fixed, no questions asked. I kept apologizing to Jules but he just said, "don't worry, it's not a problem." He is a rare find, in my opinion. Ted stopped by on the third day, to check everything and make sure the work was satisfactory. I bought a condo and hired TJ's to paint all rooms, including closets, trim, doors. They also removed the popcorn finish on the ceilings and did a fantastic job. You would never know it had ever been there. What a difference that made! All employees were professional and courteous. Ted made suggestions on details like replacing/fixing closet shelves, replacing/adding door stops, replacing switch plates and switches, vent covers, etc. I had not thought of these things, and am so glad he pointed them out, as I think all the details add up to a cohesive, finished look. Ted and his crew did an aamazing job repainting a rental property for me in Philadelphia. He was very prompt in returning my initial inquiiry on getting a quote, his pricing was very competitive, and he worked with us on a short timeframe. The work he did was top notch. I hired TJ's to paint a bathroom, foyer/hallway, and repair a crack and repaint the ceiling in our study. Communication with Ted was easy via texting and e-mail. Ted is a good communicator and I appreciated his attention to contract details, often lacking in this level of work.. He was respectful of me and of my schedule.
