The storage units are well-lit and clean and they offer multiple sizes. In the past, I have really worried about the safety of my belongings that I have left in a storage unit- that was not at all the case with Byrd's. Both of their Dawsonville locations are in good areas and I never worried about something happening to my storage unit. They have units that can be accessed only by a gate and password, as well as, ones that can be entered without going through a gate. I rented one that did not require gate entry and had no problems. When it was time for me to move my stuff, they helped me find a great local mover. It makes it very convenient that they also offer U-Haul rentals. What really impressed me was their low pricing in comparison to many metro Atlanta storage units. You also get the first month free!

I paid in full, showed up after a weekend camping to a spot that is loose gravel, on a large hill with an uneven "driveway" and grade. The spot 227 should never be offered to rent- no wonder it is the last available. A skilled driver cannot even park a camper there. Absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated and the office staff has a demeanor no one should have to deal with. I did have to stand my ground and ask for the owner to call me, in which I was answered with "you can email him" HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. Also described to Angela what an unacceptable and unaccessible storage space I was provided and "thanks for your opinion" was my only resolution. Sorry but, it's not an opinion, it is FACTS. I have never one day stored my camper there. I am asking for a refund in which I got a hard NO. I am reaching out here for a resolution.

My son and his cub scout pack all went camping here this past weekend at Scoutland, which is ran by…read morethe Northeast Georgia Council of Boy scouts of America. Scoutland is a very nice camping area and it is pretty big compared to other places that we went camping in the past. The welcome area has friendly volunteers and up front they have a regular bathroom, showers and sinks. However, the bathrooms are pretty disgusting to be honest, so personally I would not use them to shower. Just make sure you cleanup before coming here and immediately when you get home. Keep in mind everything is based off volunteers. The camping areas are nice, there was plenty of already cut firewood and throughout the trip Scoutland already has a prepared agenda for the boys of activities. While here the kids were able to do bb gun shooting, archery and complete several arts and craft projects. All of the kids had a great time. We did not go fishing, but there is plenty of fishing area seeing that the campground is basically an island surrounded by Lake Lanier. Each of the camping sites are labeled by numbers, so when you check in you will be directed to your camping area and will be provided with a map. Each camping site has a few platforms so if you have a tent you are able to put it on the wooden platform to prevent your tent from getting dirty. Some of the platforms also have a metal frame where you can hand items or put a plastic tarp over your tent in case it rains.
