This review is for the wonderful, amazing Cindy Kieu at the T-Mobile Experience store on Rainier Avenue South in Seattle. We arrived at the store at 7:30pm; they close at 8. Our grandson's phone had died and we needed a new one pronto, as he had some important online work to do. To make things worse, he is on his dad's plan and his dad was at work with a customer. Cindy skillfully navigated all this, including patiently walking his dad through adding our grandson to his account and helping us choose the best replacement phone, which they had there in the store. Now our grandson is back online and able to finish all his work. Cindy calmly got all this done in the half hour before they closed. Cindy, you are amazing, thank you!! read more

I am giving Byron who helped me in the store 5 stars for two main reasons. The first is that he treated me as important as any other customer even though I was there to cancel my home internet service after 2 years of using it. The second is that he prepared me for dealing with roadblocks that I may (and did) encounter when dealing with T Mobile customer service (the 800 number) on the phone. The only reason I am leaving off a star is that I was charged a $5 "in-store payment support charge" for his help, which I seriously doubt was any fault of his. Byron did not make offers to me or try to persuade me to not cancel when my mind was clearly made up and it was necessary for personal reasons to cancel. His humanity was far beyond what I experienced when I called T Mobile customer service, as he took it as far as he could in the store before the company demanded I call to cancel after Byron provided me with a PIN to do so. I will not be going with T Mobile 5G home internet again because the cancellation process was so arduous and I experienced multiple roadblocks and rude demeanor from a supervisor over the phone after the initial phone operator had been kind. I don't understand the business model of treating me well when I signed up, yet dismissive when I cancelled. I was disappointed that Byron's superior service was not duplicated over the phone. Consistency among the store and phone experience might have been achieved if the company were to follow his example. My advice is to not purchase T Mobile 5G Home Internet unless you never plan to cancel. I wish Byron all the best. read more

I was going to switch carrier and I called just because I had an associate on the phone that gave me a great deal!! and I repeated myself that it over the phone but they wasn't caring or listening more trying to profile other associates being, Mexican or by color or get the color when like I said why would I know color when it was over the phone !!! what company is TMobile running for them to talk unprofessional to a custom and put them on speaker and laugh like there a joke !!! read more

I waited a good 15 minutes for help while staff were occupied waiting on others. I made myself visible and stood nearby the staff so that they knew I was waiting. No one acknowledged me ever. Someone entered and was greeted with "we'll be with you shortly " while I was standing right near them. Finally, another staff enters from the back but still I'm offered no help and then a different staff becomes available and almost immediately begins helping the customer came in after me. Then staff asks who was next? Despite my answer I'm told "I'll be with you in a minute" and they continue helping the woman who entered after me. I wasted a lot of time waiting only to be rudely placed behind someone who had just come into the store. Horrible customer service. read more

Some of them are the nicest or the least helpful CSRs - we have been having several high-end phones and iPad data plans - setting those things up has always been an easy experience, and the 5G service on our devices works very well. Today, however, I brought back a 5G Home Internet device because while the data throughput is good the monthly 50GB data cap with subsequent slowdown close to 4G speeds is not - such a cap may make sense for phones, but not for a device that is supposed to supply even a 2-person household like ours - just the OS updates on our laptops and mobile devices already busted those 50 GB within a couple days. The CSR taking back the device was not exactly proactive to begin with - he walked away in the middle of me responding to his question what my problem with it was, then said I need to call TMO to cut the line. At this point things started to go south, because I tried to voice my frustration about that requirement which apparently he took personally, and said it's my problem, not his. Whatever I tried to say from here on he cut me off in the middle of me saying anything - now that's a *great* way to push a customer's (or anybody's) button. While I waited for TMO to pick up it was obvious that he was making fun of me talking to his collegue. After my call finally went through, the connection dropped right after I explained that I want to return a device and cut a line. I then asked (what I should have asked right away) if that call actually needs to be done here and now to complete the return he just shrugged and said "no" - which blends perfectly into the lack of proactivity. I don't know what T-Mobile's CSR training requirements are, but cutting off, turning away from and making fun of their customers when they return something (and perhaps some commission evaporates, sorry) is something that no CSR should ever do. We've been customer of this store for the past 5 years or so, but just like the whole neighborhood, the service in this store went downhill. read more

We purchased two PureGear tempered glass covers, for our IPhone XR.the young man who sold them said if they break bring them back and there guaranteed replacement. Well mind cracked, took it back and a young man said did you buy the insurance, I told him no one said anything about insurance that if they broke their warrantee. He said they are guaranteed you can go on the website and do it with the company, I said well I'll be the last time I shop here he said too bad and we left. Stay away from this rip off T-Mobile store. Unfortunately you are incorrect about how easy it is to get a replacement, if you go to their website they asked some questions then they have you pay a fee with your credit card to ship the screen back for them to evaluate if they'll replace it and then if they replace it you have to pay to have it shipped to you and by the time you're done it's cheaper to buy a different product directly from a different vendor which I did at Costco. And I will not be returning to your store ever again. And it's obviously you missed the point, your staff needs customer training and you may take a little of it to read more

Once again after advice of customer service, I went to the store on Rainier and Andover. Bad move. I need to return a phone. I was told they cannot print out a label. I asked for a receipt, they cannot print out. I asked write me one!?! I sit there with NO help. I finally went to the counter with "customer service " on the line. I wanted "customer service " to hear the interaction! I was told they cannot help me. Leave. Never come back. This was a Tmobile store. I have been a customer for over six years. Horrible!! Everytime I come in this store, I get the best customer service. Manager down to all the customer service sales reps are the best. The store is clean and plenty of parking in the lot. The staff looks for the best phones that fits my needs and ways to save me money. The store is super clean, great display of all the accessories, and all the phones + tablets to demo it out. The staff is very knowledable of the phones. Great source after your purchase to go back and help you with any questions or needs. The staff is bilingual to help different races and give the best service possible. They help me in the right direction to upgrade our phones to the Samsung Galaxy S3 which it wayyyyyy better than the iPhone. I just love it and I'm saving money once again. Since I had two S3 phones, one of my phones was mistaken put in the washing machine. UGH. I went back and the manager took his time to walk me through the insurance and got me a new phone in a matter of days. It only cost me another $125 for the new S3 phone. Thanks guys! I will be back! My usual phone, with a nano SIM, unexpectedly broke the other day. I have a backup phone, but it takes a micro SIM. I did receive a SIM converter when I originally switched to the nano SIM phone, but of course I lost it because I didn't think I'd ever need it. I called the Northgate T-Mobile, they had none in stock (and actually told me I'd have a hard time finding one... thanks for the encouragement!) and Amazon was either too expensive or was too long of a wait. Thankfully, the woman helping me at this location had just helped a customer who had gone from micro to nano, so she had a converter. I wasn't even charged for it! One star knocked off because it's a little disorganized and chaotic in there, and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. When I first came in, someone said they could help me, but then it turned out that someone else was actually next in line. The wait was a little long as well, a couple people in line ended up leaving. read more

We wanted to change a sim on our phone to a esim. They brought us in and helped us out. Both of them were super enthusiastic and extremely helpful. I purchased a new OnePlus 8T at this location after doing what I thought was a good amount of research. I was reassured throughout the entire purchasing process that I could return everything within 2 weeks if I didn't like things (never mentioning a restocking fee). The phone unfortunately didn't meet my expectations at all (the camera was poor quality, the face unlock didn't work half the time, etc). I had gone to another TMobile store to return it, but was told if I went back to the original store, they could wave the restocking fee. I went back here to return, and when I initially mentioned this, the manager laughed in my face and told me that it was impossible to wave the fee, and that the other store probably just didn't want to restock the phone. I mentioned that I didn't know about the restocking fee, having never had to return a phone. I was told that info was on the receipt, which ok, but if it was never mentioned, I'm handed/signing a ton of terms & conditions without much time to review - it's not exactly clear I'm going to waste $70 on NOTHING! How exactly am I supposed to know this? Maybe if I was met with a half ounce of decency it wouldn't have bothered me much, but when you laugh in my face about something I was told by another store, it feels pretty offensive. You can clearly tell the quality of the staff when you come in with a question not likely result in a purchase. I came into this shop in that situation, and John and Josophyne gave me great service. The manager Josophyne, (lovely inside and out!), showed me how I could use Skype, minute-free, using the unlimited data on my plan. Make no mistake: This is not a review of the T-Mobile corporation which screwed me over last year when I lived just outside of a town, yet had absolutely no signal whatsoever, and their attitude was that it was not their problem. My local Radio Shack had to give me the solution! This review is for the super folks at this store. The building itself is cool, too - - with a whole wall of windows. One star for diversity in the workplace. Two Somali men in the store helped me a few months ago knew nothing about the promotions going on. I asked one of them several questions as he kept running to the backroom to ask his manager for the answers. Spent close to two hours in the store. He told me I didn't need to do anything for one of the many promotions/rebates going on and like a naive customer I listened. Thankfully I called tmobile rebate and they helped me out. Great place if you don't speak English because there are so many multilingual workers. But do your research, they will sell you whatever they can and spend he least amount of time helping you out. read more

Terrible customer service and sales reps that straight up lie to my face. Heres the run down of what happened when I went into the store to get a new phone as a present. 1st time: bought the new phone. Took it home. Got home didn't come with a charger or headphones. Went back to the store got the headphones and charger and brought it up to the sales person that I thought that Apple policy was to not sell unsealed phones. Told me the phone was 100% fine. 2nd time: The phone was a lemon. Tried to return the phone was told a new one would be mailed back. 3rd time: got the refurbished phone. Was promised a new one. Spoke to customer service and was told to mail the phone back and that I could go into the store and get a new one 4th time: came into the store and now my contract is "locked in" and that they have to speak to their other managers to try sort something out. Best customer service. For some reason, the tax ID they had in their database did not match the one on my tax return transcript. From here, everything had become extremely complex. The rep who helped was probably the best I have ever met. She tried her best to call all the people she could possibly reach. After more than one hour, problems were solved. She was very polite professional and sweet. One more thing to mention, she kept explaining to me what was going on while waiting for someone to help her. T-mobile! Let your employees get access to the computer system. They are trying to be helpful. read more

Allows fraudulent charges on customers account to meet quota!! Does not verify authorized users or check IDS and does nothing to resolve the issue! Charged my account and iphone x and hundreds of dollars of accessories from 2 states away and claims they checked an ID when I live in San Diego! Never go to this store and switch from tmobile if you can. Manager Josh expects me to get the products that they sold illegally when It was their fault for not checking IDs or authorized users! They cant provide me with the proof that they checked an ID because it was never done! Worst customer service and worst company! read more

I have had cellphones since 1988. My interest in signing up with t mobile was to reduce the monthly cost of service. When I signed up I was quoted 3 free fee activations. It took over 4 trips to this store to get them to honor their quote. Employees are not well trained....I say this because the only other explanation would be that they are outright dishonest The only notable proficiency is the creative ways they take more of your money Be warned...they have a loophole for every promise they make you They will refer to an absent manager who is in this large organization is the only person who can help you however cannot be reached (more than once) Every time I come in here I lower my expectations There is a culture of dis-function and a lack of respect for your valuable time .......at least at this location Is anyone watching the store? read more

Great sales pitch, but poor service. I purchased a screen cover for my phone that came with a lifetime warranty. They told me to just keep the box and if anything happens, come back in for a replacement. What a lie. Of course, the screen chipped and when I came back in with the box, they asked for a receipt, which I never received. When I made the purchase the salesman took all my info, put it in the computer, and said we have it right here. Then when I came back for a replacement, they claimed their records "didn't go back that far" and couldn't give me a replacement. Wow great sales pitch and no follow-through. I have to vent!! When our t-mobile phones were less than four months old, (Mar. 2011) my wife's phone would not hold a charge. The store on Rainier helped me order a replacement for her. It came within five days, and was the usual remanufactured. However, there was no label included for return shipping. I immediately called customer service and was told a new one would be shipped by UPS, and I should receive it within three weeks. So, I called again after three weeks and was told it hadn't been three "business weeks." After another week I again called, and was told it shouold be there any day. I told the young lady I was concerned and did not wish to charged full price for the faulty phone. "Oh, no, you won't be charged in any case." Several days later I called once more and was again told a new label would be shipped, again by UPS, and I should receive it within three weeks. Remember. the replacement phone arrived in five days. This week our bill arrived and (no surprise) we were charged a total of $150.16 including other charges and fees. This time when I called, rather upset, I was told in very certain tems, that since we did not return the phone within the first sixty days of it having been shipped to us, we had to pay a restocking fee for a new phone, and "Thank you for calling t-mobile." Cannot wait to be able to go back to Verizon where we had an account for several years read more

Sorry Mt Baker store. You guys may be the nicest guys on the planet, but the company you work for is terrible. After a device update forced on me through the network, my phone stopped working. The warranty was up on the phone and I didn't have the insurance; I rarely break stuff. Apparently, TMobile policy in this situation is to try and sell a new phone. Everyone I spoke to was very interested in selling me a new phone and not too interested in making the situation right. I felt like I was dealing with car salesmen. Nothing against car salesmen and all...well, you know what I mean. I never heard anything like "Let's get you a loner phone while we fix this one". Not "maybe we can get you a refurbished one". Nothing. Just buy a new phone. I assume it is because, ultimately, they have the upper hand. So everyone knows, here's what it will cost you to get out of this situation: $200 for cancellation, balance on the equipment (now broken - for me this was $90), any outstanding payment + one full month for the month you are cancelling in. So, this will run me $460. Will never deal with TMobile again. Sorry Mt Baker store. Hope you guys find better jobs, because I hope TMobile goes under. John is the most helpful in this store. The rest of the reps are the worst. They have deceiving advertisement and always try to shove everything down your throat. I told them we only wanted internet for one line and they kept firing questions if we needed it for my mom, dad, and brother. I said no to each of them and they kept pushing it. I understand it's their job to pressure you but no is no. Another time I was in here and was not able to receive a micro sim because the account wasn't under my name, I was obviously upset so I just left the counter and the rep called me a bitch under her breath. I couldn't hear it but the man who just left after me told me that. Another time I wanted help by calling them, they hung up on me three times after putting me on hold and forgetting I was on the phone. I had to keep calling back. i've been sooo jaded when it comes to cellular any/everything. with one exception i've had service with every company out there, even the ones that got swallowed up by larger corporations in the technology heyday. i've had good (reception AND customer) service, bad service, spotty service, no service...bleh. no mas. my latest (and hopefully last) endeavor was with t-mobile. the bf at the time said that they had the best service in seattle--at least with his phone--and since i was still kinda new to the area and needed a new phone anyway i gave them a try. you know what they say...third try's a charm. the first phone w/them was a piece of crap (motorola w490) in early 2007. even though i told her i wanted a simple phone that made calls, sent/received texts and didn't go to sh!t when i dropped it...never again. second was the samsung gravity touch in july 2010. ooohhh, internet! now we were talking. it was almost as fast and reliable as dial-up. exciting. now enter the mytouch and the experience that goes with it. i went to radioshack almost three weeks ago searching for a new phone plan (and possibly a new carrier) since i had to get off the ex's acct. SO not impressed with what they had, both pre-paid and contract. popped over to the shiny new t-mobile store next door though not with any intentions of making any major decisions yet. i must say, aaron's quite the salesman. he greeted me immediately upon entry and i explained my situation (needed a new plan, possibly a new phone, i'm already paying too much, etc). he was super patient and had answers to 95% of my overly nit-picky questions. it was great! he sold me on the new mytouch 4g (which in itself is pretty f'n sweet), got me a "better" phone plan, price-matched radioshack's $80 special on the phone AND even added a corporate discount i didn't know my employer participated in. killer! my only disappointment was that i couldn't transfer my old phone # to the new phone but aaron explained that it was more technical than was really necessary. oh and a few days after i had a few Qs on my phone so i called the store. aaron wasn't around but the guy (didn't catch his name) was able to troubleshoot as best he could. all in all i've been with t-mobile for four years and three phones. they've always been really good to me and i highly recommend you chat with aaron if you visit this store. four stars for t-mobile as a whole, five stars for aaron and five for this location. woohoo! :D read more

Have you ever seen a manager who talks to his customer without greeting with no smile both his hands in his pocket !!! Let me tell you what happened in this store on November 12/2017 between 2 to 3 p.m. Following my telephone conversation with the T-mobile call center , I was told to go the t-mobile store to trade in my iPhone 6 and upgrade to iPhone 7 . I presented my phone for trade in to associate April at store #204 at 3820 Rainier Ave S. and she refused to trade in with out looking into what is the written in my account by the call center supervisor. She didn't give me the chance to explain to her about my issue . She needs training how to handle a customer. While talking to her , another associate step in without introducing himself and without greetings to his customer with his hands in his pocket . He acted as a personal body guard instead of asking for issue and look for a solution. I asked him are you the manager ? and he said yes. Instead of introducing himself as the store manager with greetings and asking for what is going on ? he became part of the problem .He repeated what she said instead of making an attempt to knowing what is going on and give a chance for the customer to air his concern . he refused to give me service. He said that I have to protect my associate although nothing happened that entails special protection for his associate. I did nothing to to his associate. I have been a customer to this company over 8 years even before both the associate and the so called " the manager" were being hired. I am a peaceful man and a doctoral candidate at the Washington state university. I don't know how he created an image of an "aggressor" towards me. I went to the store to trade in my phone ,nothing more and nothing less. I was asking for an explanation for being refused to trade in . Both have decided not to trade in my phone at face value with out learning what is written in my account by the customer call center. if the manager couldn't solve customers problem who will solve for him. he acted as a private personal body guard for his associate instead of solving my problem as a valued customers . I asked for his business card and learned that he is called by Eddie U. .I have seen many skilled manager who are very good at handling customer issue. But, this manager instead of deescalation ,he makes things worse , he lacks experience and has poor customer handling. I think the company really needs to train him at least to greet customers with smile and free hands out of his pockets as well as he has to be part of a solution instead of acting as a private body guard to his associate . he doesn't bother for his customer !!! he only concerned to protect her without reasonable treat to his associate (April) . I went into this location yesterday to switch phones, and I don't think that those employees have EVER even heard of customer service, let alone practice it. The help I got consisted of removing the Sim card from one phone and putting it in the new phone, and switching the devices on my account. Things I could have done at home with a phone call. The girl who helped me didn't even switch the SD card without me asking. The store was rather empty, so I have no idea why I got crap service but I did. I have gotten new phones before and had help moving my contacts, etc. These kids couldn't be bothered. I've been a T-Mobile customer for 16 years, but reconsidering now. read more

After I ordered an iPhone 6 from the Rainier store, they asked me if I wanted a cover I said yes, instead of showing me the choices Jenny dropped a $39.95 glass roll-on cover in my bag without showing me other choices, then her and another employee proceeded to hard-sell me a speaker that they said quote, 'was a $200 speaker for $19.95'-a deal for 'certain customers only' and 'just for me' quote. They tried to hard sell this thing to me for about 5 minutes. When I kept saying 'no', one of them said if I purchased it that he would buy it back from me for $34.95 because 'employees can't even get them for that cheap'. I still said no, because it seemed so fishy-found out later from my regular store there would have been an additional $8 a month fee put on my account for it. What I got out of this store is they tried to get all they could get and borderline lying not being really straight about prices and charges. All in all not a store I would trust with my business with, left feeling like I had been hustled. I'm going back to my regular store on 45th next time! read more

The salesmen in this store are deplorable - -in deceptive promises and very unhelpful attitude. When I went in to purchase a phone an specifically inquired if any new phones would be coming out soon, or if teh "Samsung Galaxy III" was it. I was informed that no new models were expected for a VERY long time, as the III model only came out last fall. LIE. As everyone now knows, the Galaxy IV was in the pipeline, the news madia, and arrived ONE WEEK after I bought the old version, new price. Te salesman also ARGUED with me when I mentionned the West Seattle blog alerted me to bad coverage areas. "That's just not true." WHen I asked him to pull up a map so I could see whether my area would receive a good signal, he bhaved as if I was GREATLY inconveniencing him as he was "earning" his commission. To rub insult to injury, I returned the phone within the 14 day period to get the latest model (that they said didn't exist) and the sales MANAGER argued with me about the return date, saying I was a day late - -this was AFTER I had called to VERIFY the return date! Honestly. If this unethical group of salesmen is indicative of T-Mobile as a whole, RUN AWAY, as fast as you can. read more
