On my way from somewhere in La headed to Dallas and time for a quick lunch. Yelp helped me find this little place. Not a big menu but covers all the bases for lunch in a small Texas town. I went with a single cheeseburger and crispy FF's. Food came out pretty quick. I was not disappointed. Just the right size for me. Patty was strait up good on its own. Pickles were nice and thick - not those thin one like most places. FF's nice n crispy. Good lunch. The others pates I saw brought out looked pretty good as well. Daily lunch specials and today's was CFS. I saw one and it did look good. Work the stop if you hungry. read more

CFS with green beans, fried squash, and a salad. A lot of food for a little price. The CFS was a decent size, it was tenderized perfectly, the coating was tasty, and the gravy flavorful. The green beans might have been canned, but they were very good, flavored with bits of bacon. The corn-fried squash was pretty good. I couldn't eat it all. The poor waitress, bless her heart - when looking at the menu I asked her if the fried squash was zucchini. She said, "No. It's squash." That's East Texas for you. read more

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I'll have what she's having! Seriously, 4 women going to Martin Creek Lake Cabin camping went to T's for dinner. Of course, we couldn't make up our mind so we shared. I chose the Strawberry Pecan Salad with Grilled Chicken. The Strawberry Vinaigrette dressing was spot on. It was hard to share, but in exchange, I had 1/2 of the Shrimp PoBoy. Best I can remember. The shrimp was lightly breaded and the sauce perfectly complemented the sandwich. Had a bite of the catfish. Lightly breaded. Yum! Had a spoonful of the banana pudding. Light and not overly sweet. I could eat that all day. If you are near Tatum, do yourself a favor and give them a try. read more

OMG, if you're ever find yourself near Tatum Tx do yourself a favor and eat here. Natalie has been our waitress each time we've been, she is awesome. Ask for a complimentary bowl of beans, they are out of this world. The first time we ate here I had the hamburger steak, it is made in the kitchen not a frozen burger, It was great my DH had the steak finger basket, oh now they were awesome. The steak fingers are hand battered and cooked crisp, served with fries and white gravy. We've been back several times and each time we both order steak finger basket. It's rumored their banana pudding is awesome but we never have room for it. read more

Using Yelp to find new and good places to eat while traveling is just part of the adventure, and T's Cafe And Catering is no exception! We started the meal off with a complimentary "appetizer" of juicy pinto beans, seasoned just right with chili flavor. I had a perfectly "done and decorated" burger with pepper jack cheese and grilled mushrooms--so tangy and juicy! Hubby had the Blue Plate Special with a hamburger steak, Black-eyed peas and fried okra. And his banana pudding was yummy! (Although not the "real thing", it was made with Cool Whip and pudding, but that's how *I* make it!) Our waitress was very friendly and efficient, and the prices were good. It's a small town diner with friendly clientele, which just adds to the homey-ness of the place. And so convenient! Had dinner here while camped at the St Park. Total locals joint. The menu is small town comfort food. At 7:30 pm on a Friday night and this place was deserted. The CFS was decent, but the sides were bad. Instant potatoes and gravy? No thanks. I'll avoid the frozen corn as well. The server was friendly. Perhaps they are awesome with coffee and eggs in the morning. read more

Food was good. I got a vegetable plate and vegetables were good but not as hot as I'd like them, more warm than hot. Service was good and place was clean. Everyone wore masks which I appreciate but I'd prefer at this time all the condiments were individually wrapped for sanitary reasons. Just passing through and saw the excellent reviews. I am glad we stopped. This is probably the best home cooking that I have ever had. Okra, squash, pinto beans, corn bread and unsweet tea; all five stars. Service was great and atmosphere matched. A must stop! Oh my goodness, the banana pudding is a show stopper. Came through Tatum and was starving. Threw a chance at this place hoping the one review was legit. HOLY COW! This place was awesome! The service was amazing.....but the food was ridiculous. You have got to try the cobbler. I think there's a grandma back there and that's all she makes. Haha. read more
