"Tano" became extremely attached to me solely and was terrified of other human beings. At that point I knew this was the one to me my forever companion. Tano was 6 months old when we adopted him and despite all my efforts in trying to get him socialized with other humans (during a pandemic when humans were restricted from socializing to begin with) was going to be nearly impossible. I knew I needed to act quickly and needed to seek some assistance to achieve good results with my plan. My vet recommended "Fortunate Fido" and boy was I glad she did. Within about 4 months of private training with Ginger then Tara, our new 4 legged family member graduated with utmost honors! Their training assistance proved to be "epic" in Tano's behaviors. Everything they suggested we do worked well and now our little guy has overcome his fear of humans, in addition to learning new tricks and new good behaviors. We could not be more proud of him. We could not have done this without the help of the great trainers at Fortunate Fido and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of building a confidant dog/owner relationship.

During all that time, we were only ever informed of one incident -- over a year ago -- which was described as a brief "scuffle" while several dogs went through a gate together. We were told there were no injuries, and after a short break, our dog returned to play with no further issues. There were no other incidents that day or at any other time until we were informed of his dismissal when we picked him up at the end of the day. Since his dismissal, we've made multiple attempts to get details about any other incidents and were denied. We even tried to speak directly with the practice owner and veterinarian, but she never responded. This has been extremely disappointing. As responsible pet parents, we wanted to understand what happened so we could address any behavioral issues -- but we were given no opportunity to do so. After years of loyalty to both the clinic and daycare (with as many as three dogs in their care at a time), the lack of transparency and unwillingness to communicate has left us questioning everything. They denied us any chance to correct behavior and keep our relationship as customers, and the practice owner's silence speaks volumes about how little they value long-term clients.

That groomer also worked at a dog Salon, which was an option, but the recent YELP reviews were awful. Our dog is a puppy mill rescue, who had been abused and can be fear aggressive when confined with anything around her neck. She's never bitten anyone but gets snappy if you pull on her. So we need a groomer who gets that..... 95% of the time this dog is a lap dog, desperate for affection. She's also actually afraid of people and other dogs, terrified of cages,( she was in a cage for the first two years of her life)which is why going to a regular dog Salon was the least favorite option. So enter Furryland! We have had two groomers. Both were excellent. Both listened beforehand to her history and her trigger points. Amanda now has been her groomer the last few times and the actual grooming is terrific. She really did what I asked regarding her ears, which is difficult on a Doodle. Our original groomer just always kind of did it her way. Lol. But most importantly, our dog wasn't stressed. And before anyone asks, we have always used vet prescribed sedation to reduce anxiety. But it didn't yield the same results with our prior home groomer. So overall, the grooming results were terrific, the commutation via text while your pup is in the van is excellent, the personality and listening skills of both Amanda and staff have been so pleasant to deal with.

I was told by Dr. Wilson that she could find nothing and maybe he had asthma. He was given an antibiotic shot after the procedure and this seemed to give him relief for a couple months. Then it started up again. I took him back on Dec 6, 2025. He was very nervous and panted when he first arrived. I told her he was not eating much, refusing food he had been on since I adopted him at age 6 months, but no appetite issues until now. She made a comment about his breathing saying he was struggling but no further examination or suggestions to try to diagnose him! She then whisked him off to another room to clip his back nails and gave him another antibiotic shot and a steroid shot. He had an ear infection so she gave me drops for his ears. She told me to call her on Monday Dec. 8 to tell her how he was doing but when I called I was told she was not available and would call me back. She never did. Instead several days later someone-NOT her-called and left me a message to call her and she would relay the message to Dr.Wilson. Sad that she could not find 5 minutes to speak with me! Petey continued to worsen, seeming to have more difficulty breathing and rather than take him back to see Dr. Wilson I found another veterinarian office to take him to. On Wed, Dec 17, 2025 I took him there. From the moment I came into the room the vet gave him her full attention, asking me what was going on. She listened to his breathing and said she wanted to take x-rays to see what may be going on. After doing so she came in and told me Pete had fluid in his chest. She tried to drain it but she could not. She then informed me that he likely would not make it through the day. I called my husband at work and together we made the gut wrenching decision to let him go so he would not suffer more than he already had! I was advised that he would likely pass before my husband could arrive by 6 pm. Thankfully my daughter had gone with me for support. I have struggled to understand WHY DR. WILSON AT ANIMAL AND AVIAN DID NOT SUGGEST THE CHEST X-RAY ON DEC 6th!!!! In my opinion she is an awful, negligent vet! It appears all they care about is their income stream-just giving meds and keeping you coming back again and again for injections which never took care of the problem. It is all about the money with them! My feeling is if she had she suggested and done the x-ray when she saw him on Dec 6th instead of more meds which she said would likely be ongoing if they helped, which they did not, then my Petey would not have had to suffer an additional 11 days!!! I would NEVER take another animal to ANIMAL AND AVIAN nor would I refer anyone to them!

The problem happened when we had to let our pitty go due to sudden illness at the end of 2025. One of the vet techs, Luke, got really nasty when my husband protested leaving a muzzle on our unconscious dog who was one shot away from being dead. He had already received the shot that put him under and he was, for all intents and purposes, gone. We completely understand when there is a chance the dog is going to turn on you, but at this point he. was. gone. Give the dog and his parents a dignified good-bye, he isn't going to rise back up and eat you when he is out like this. There is no reason to make such an already traumatic experience even worse. Luke had a silent temper tantrum and started roughing my dog up, tossing him onto his back to do whatever he had to do next. His behavior was bad enough that the other vet tech in the room actually kicked Luke out of the exam and finished things up without him. She handled the rest of the appointment with grace. I did call and complain a few days later after I had calmed down and the office manager was kind enough to mark our account so Luke would no longer be allowed to touch any of our fur kids. A week later I had to bring our other dog for another appointment and guess who came waltzing into the waiting room with another patient. My stomach instantly started churning. This vet was good, but I can no longer refer them to anyone until this jerk is removed from their employment. Luke has no business working with animals and is a cancer to the practice.

I find it easier to wash my dog there because the clean-up is easy. The tubs are clean and seem low enough for most dogs to get into. I really like this place. I wish I knew about it sooner.
