A friend of mine recommended this new boutique salon after she did Japanese hair straightening there. Her normally frizzy hair looks smooth and silky now and no damage at all. This place is a hidden gem, right at the corner of Aberdeen Square mall. Nice feel, pretty spacious with only 5 seats, the whole experience felt like VIP. The owners really do a good job. When booking my appt with her I informed her that I would be coming to her place in Richmond as I booked my hair with someone else in richmond. I asked her in May if she would be moving and if she was it would pose a problem for me and I booked her for convenience to have everything done in Richmond. She said she would let me know soon as she would be moving. I did not hear from her for a month. So I messaged her and asked her. She said she will not be moving but because I did not confirm with her she booked someone else! I informed her that I did confirm with her and she was supposed to get back to me regarding moving. She did not even apologize. I have the text messages of my conversation with her. If she keeps her messages she would see that she made a mistake. She is clearly unprofessional and unorganized. If you don't have a contract with her I would be worried. If you do, make sure she remembers. Hopefully she has learned from this and uses a scheduler.

She gave me comments like.. typical people with my skin tone would go for these shades -- and she would not further explain how these colors would be paired or etc. in depth. Once she helped me redid the transaction, I asked if she could recommend me a shade for a wedding event in the future. She passed on a judgement.. like "surprised" that weddings are still happening in 2021. At the end, she passed me one shade and I asked if I could have another shade to try. She said, "I've been working in the profession for 6 years, I know your shade". I find the staff's attitude very poor and very negative. I love make up and I've been buying from MAC Cosmetics since 2005 but this very experience with MAC online and instore has ruined it for me. I will not be purchasing from MAC in the future. I may be Asian descent, but Asians can have neutral, cool or warm tone -- we do not only have one colour. If the staff's having a bad day, don't ruin it for others.
