I felt a little sad during my meal because i truly wanted to like it. I went through 2.5 cups of water during this meal because it was very dry :( in the past, my calamari was meaty and lightly coated and delicious but this time....i felt i was deceived....the calamari looked beautiful but it was meh, not very appetizing for once. The calamari was crunchy but there was barely any calamari itself inside -- was mostly just flour and coating. The flat bread was nice though....warm, toasty, crunchy, savoury. I'll probably try again in the future but my only suggestion is to be more consistent with ounces of coating because it was way too thick this time. So, this was not a great experience for us. We only saw our server twice throughout the meal and our second round of drinks took almost twenty minutes to get to our table. It was the first time we have turned something down in a long time. The food was ok overall, however the vegetables were barely cooked when stating that they were and the lamb was not cooked to the temperature requested. To be frank it looked like the meal had been sitting under the heat lamp and died while waiting for our server to return with it. Management was very nice and quickly came over to speak with us. Good came out within 30 minutes. The place has a stove fireplace in the middle of the main room that keeps it nice and cozy. Taverna board ($130 for 4) was BEAUTIFUL. It was almost a pity to tear into it. Lamb, beef skewers, and bacon-wrapped pork were so tender, you could cut them with a butter knife ! The pork was not my favorite, just because the sauce had a funky cheese flavor and I'm not a fan of funky cheese. The board also came with shrimp croquettes, a Caesar-like salad, roasted veges, calamari, roasted potatoes and a couple dipping sauces. Dare I saw the potatoes were the best part of the board ... One of my favorite tapas places! I took my colleague here and it was her first time. We had white sangrias and they were divine! We shared a Surf board and we loved it! Fast service and amazing happy hour menu. I forget that this restaurant is located in the mill creek town center. It's cozy and vibey all at the same time. The happy hour is super affordable and value in portions! They don't skimp on their portions and have a good variety of selection. The calamari was crispy and soft as u bite into it. Love how it wasn't overly fried. Salmon pesto flatbread was also super flavorful and the asparagus chunks were a nice surprise added. Lamb sliders from the regular menu were okay, but a little dry. Wish it was juicier. You need to order one drink per person for happy hour and honestly, they had lots of cheap options which was a nice add. Met friends for dinner and was glad to have made a reservation. Place was packed on a Saturday night at 6:30! Breezy was our server and she was spot on the entire night. The pita with 4 dips was the best thing we got here. My boyfriend says the lamb is really good too. Such a beautiful restaurant but, food seems to be premade or something. Our whole order of 6-7 items came out in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the turf plate with chorizo and mussels instead of just chorizo. I don't know. The whole thing seemed to not be good or put together. Honestly the mussels were good! That is it. The beef skewers are terrible. Along with the pineapple chicken "wraps". I had high hopes for this place. Tapas! Who doesn't like tapas. We were seated and the place is empty the entire night. Service was quick and food started coming out but weirdly the salads came out last and about 10 minutes after all the hot food came out. Onto the food. 1) kids meals: burger was decent, but the pizza is a small pita with cheese and sauce. Get the burger. 2) octopus: it was decent. It was charred and crispy on most sides except one side where it was kind of slimy. Wish it had the consistent crispy crust on all sides. It was tender though and the potatoes it came with was good. 3) sardines: the fish was good. Came with crackers and I felt bread or pita would better accompany it than the crackers. 4) fire roasted veggies: Brussels sprouts, 1 piece of artichoke and 4 pieces of asparagus thinner than a number 2 pencil. Just call it a plate of Brussels sprouts with garlic sauce. 5) dip. None of the party cared for the dip. The tzatziki was ok. The olive tapenade was ok as well. The hot pepper spread tasted funky and the hummus was the worst. Tasted like it had an entire bottle of white pepper dumped into it. Who makes hummus with white pepper? All 7 in our party could only taste the pepper. The pita was the highlight of this dish. We also only got 8 slivers of pita. Looking at other Yelp review pictures we had half the pita others get. The drinks, staff, and menu were top notch. When we first arrived at 5 pm the restaurant was empty but they were holding them for their reservations, so we sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and made great drinks. A table opened up and so we sat at a table. The waitress at had was equally kind and attentive. On 11/09/2024 we had a BD party for a group of 12 people. Half of the table got food poisoning. Writing this review from the toilet. Interior is nice. Restroom was dirty and had no paper towels (ran out) or hand dryer. Poor service, table was constantly full of empty/dirty plates. Ridiculous about of food was brought to the table (more that was ordered). We had bunch of starters (french fries, sweet potato fries, Brussels sprouts, fried calamari, flat bread) and paella. Place is reasonably priced i would say on the cheaper side but food reflects that. Cheap frozen seafood, under seasoned everything, blend flavorless dishes. Only flat bread was ok in terms of flavor. Paella was a joke. Tasted like someone mixed can of chopped tomatoes with rice. Barely ate anything and still got food poisoning. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Would suggest to close the place and reopen after big clean up and reviewing the menu and additional training for staff both kitchen and front of the house. read more

I was looking for a place to take the little sister for her birthday dinner that wouldn't gluten us since we have the dreaded celiac disease. I called ahead and a nice server answered all my questions about the menu and even told me I could bring in a cupcake I'd bought for her cake. They didn't take reservations but as we're early birds we didn't have trouble getting a table on Wednesday at 5. Our server was an energetic guy that indulged us as we picked this and that drink to try and kept ordering more and more tapas. I ended up finding out our server was the same guy I'd spoken to the night before and honestly I'd come back and eat here again just because of his great service and knowledge of his menu and gf options. There's actually lots of choices and we selected the mussels with chirozo (a favorite!), a caramelized goat cheese salad, beef skewers, and the most amazing bacon wrapped dates. They took my cupcake in the back and not only brought us out a delicious chocolate gf cake on the house for her birthday but also decorated my cupcake for me with chocolate drizzle on the plate. Such a cute place! Have not heard of this place because I never really am up north anymore but my friend was visiting from LA and staying near by. It's so cute and rustic inside. Loved the tapas idea, we decided to order a couple things to share; lamb slider, beef skewers, and spicy garlic wings. Food was delicious. The lamb slider was so juicy and packed full of flavors, wings were delicious as well. Reminded us a lot of Vietnamese fish wings but a bit more subtle. Drinks were strong but so yummy. Even on the app it's easy to customize. I also added about a third of a bottle of hot sauce to bring up the flavors--they don't go too crazy with the seasonings, but the ingredients are all fresh and all cooked just right. I liked not having to feel guilty about eating any of this Empanadas This one was more of a cheat meal--plenty of golden-brown dough for the wrapper. Delicious, though. Usually eating the crust of anything is worth skipping after a bite or two, but this actually added to the meal. The filling and dipping sauce were good, too. This is a well kept secret in the area. Best tapas and Spanish food in the area bar none. The muscles in Brava sauce is the best l have tried since my last visit to Spain. Spice level was perfect. No bad mussels in the batch and it was huge for dinner. Comes with toasted bread to get every bit of the sauce. The Gazpacho is very traditional and l had gazpacho for 15 days straight in Spain so l have had a few samples. Wonderful flavor very smooth. American gazpacho generally leaves chunks of vegetable though out the soup ,not nearly as good as this classic style. Every meal has been very good. Brought our Italian visitors for lunch and they now have a new favorite in the states. As they say exceptional quality, perfectly done and as should be expected. Wait staff very attentive and helpful with people with limited English. Can't say enough good things about Tablas. Interior very up beat and clean bathrooms, always a plus. First time in and there was no wait for a table, the staff were friendly and in a good mood, and there was the option of outside seating. We sat inside to get out of the sun and enjoyed the neat looking filament bulb next to the table and the ambiance overall. We opted for drinks and the cheese board, going with the huckleberry mule and a Hefeweizen. The beer was good and standard, and the mule was balanced with a tasty ginger beer flavor. The cheese board could have been described better on the menu, we didn't know it came with a decent portion of figs (which we aren't very fond of), but the cheeses were tasty and the few pieces of fruit were nice. If you go with the cheese board definitely eat the blue cheese last (veryyy blue tasting haha), and you'll probably need a second cup of crackers! Tl;dr - The food (portion-size and flavor) doesn't justify the price. $20-$25 for an "Ancient Grain Bowl" with protein, 4 figs for $20, $20 for 4 burrata, and so on. The menu is all over the place and none of what we tried was particularly great. I would much rather go to a restaurant specializing in a specific food than come here and have over-priced, mediocre food across the board. I love the fireplace upon our arrival; at the entrance of the restaurant and the backdrop of candles against the wall. The drinks were absolutely AMAZING. My boyfriend and I had a variety of hand crafted cocktails, whiskey flights, and DELICIOUS seasonal sangrias! The tapas had an explosion of flavors and unique combinations. I wish we would have taken photos of all our dishes but we were to quick to try our dishes ! The only constructive critique we have is, we had asked for our salmon in the Apollo bowl to be medium rare and we received it medium well close to well done. Great customer service. They get busy at times especially on weekends so I do recommend calling ahead for reservations if you can. They have good cocktails and mocktails. Food is okay. Definitely not something that stands out. But worth trying for some drinks and maybe appetizers. We made a reservation on Open Table earlier that day, but we definitely didn't need one as there were plenty of open tables. We ordered the meats & cheese combo charcuterie board for $34, Brussels sprouts, Caesar salad, lamb chops with fries, and the chicken skewers. The charcuterie board was good, but the other dishes were nothing to write home about. The Brussels sprouts were supposed to be crispy but they were soft, the flavor was good. I would not recommend the chicken skewers; not only were they misshaped (??) but they were also overcooked and chewy. Having worked in two restaurants that had chicken skewers on the menu, I was disappointed that they were not appetizing or presentable. They seemed understaffed, running around the restaurant, but the staff were friendly. Overall, I really wanted to enjoy this place, but it just didn't hit the mark for me.
