I came in to check out Husky hoops yesterday afternoon, which nobody around here was showing since it was on a streaming platform. The place was empty when I showed up 'cause it was way between lunch and dinner, so I got to chat with the cool bartender a bit. She had already scoured their channel guides to see which local teams she'd be able to show, so we shared a cheerful grumble about how you can't just get one subscription to cable anymore and see all your teams' games. I didn't get the sense she was a sports dork like me, so she was doing this so she could do a good job at work. I like that!@ This place from the outside looks like it might seat about 25, but the reality is that it's several times that big. Dozen pool tables scattered around, plenty of room for everybody to line up shots. Couple dozen TVs. Huge horseshoe-shaped bar going from the middle of room to the back corner, lots of stools. You can see a few nice choices for spirits here and there. Full bar for sure. Beers are a little on the industrial side, probably no wines. She mixed a decent old-fashioned for me, but asked multiple questions about how I liked it. I really loved how detailed she was with everything--which games are on, which drinks they have, how to make them, how they serve their food. She didn't seem like the owner (I don't think) but she knew the whole place like the back of her hand. I had a prime rib dip, which was just the sandwich you want when you can have a little cheat. Good chewy onion rings that didn't pull apart after one bite--you get batter and onion, both, every time. Jus was good, meat was tender, bread had a nice chew to it. The chef puts his name on at least one dish, and the bartender went on about how much scratch cooking he does. I asked if she recommended something specific, and she rattled off half the menu. DO NOT GO HERE!! The bartender/waitress charged me for 10 drinks! If I had that many my friends would have had to carry me out!! My bill was 104 bucks! Then the waitress/bartender comes over and asks if there was something wrong because you stiffed me. Really? How did you know if I was not gonna fit a cash tip on the table but even further you charge me for so many drinks that I did not drink I'd be on my lips being carried out with my friends so 104 bucks for a meal and a couple drinks as BS. I know I did not drink that much and for you to charge me for that money and I have to pay that much Womens group and we came there tonight because we had nowhere to go. My Womens group has 273 people in it and I will advise all of them not to step foot and your place again because it was real wrong for their waitress to come up and say the shit that she said about us, stepping her when mine was only four pairs since they obviously got tipped a lot, just not me because I did not think the bill was right, but I just paid it. Went here based on stellar reviews across all platforms. I don't know whether these people are just friends with employees/owners or what, but wow, do I disagree with it all. Except the drinks, as we don't drink, so we did not sample any of that element. Food: Game On Platter -- Every element of this sampler lacked seasoning and had entirely too much breading. Potentially the worst Mozzarella Sticks ever, some of the worst chicken tenders. Bland, crappy onion rings. Fried mushrooms were completely unseasoned and slimey. Fries were decent but everywhere else that gets the same fries makes them better -- potentially desperately needed an Oil Change. Burger Dip (sub Mashed Potatoes for side) -- Burger was burnt, onions on it were even more burnt, mashed potatoes had the consistency of melted rubber. I guess the roll was fresh enough? Garlic Chicken Flatbread -- By far the tastiest part of the meal, but it was a little dry and a little burnt as well. The Artichoke Hearts were just the generic jarred lightly pickled ones rather than fresh, so I ended up picking those off. Chicken needed seasoning. Very thick bread for a "flatbread." Service: The Bartender was fairly prompt for a midday dive bar. Didn't keep her bar very clean though, as the act of picking my card up from the bar left my hands smelling strongly of stale beer, which is insane given that they'd only been open for a few hours with only 5 customers. The need to wash my hands led me to the worst part of this experience. Ambiance: Seemed like a solid mix of pool, arcade games, even skeeball. Pretty cool. But the restrooms (again, MIDDAY, this should have been at their freshest) were so horrendously ill kept that just opening the door released the most disgusting smell throughout the entire half of the bar closest to it. I was so very glad that all I needed to do was wash my hands, because another second in that restroom would have ended terribly. For the price tag of 16-20 bucks a dish, we weren't expecting gourmet. But for that same price you can get much better food at a wide variety of restaurants, almost all of which properly clean their bar and restrooms. Hell, almost any fast food restaurant would have been better food for less money (Dick's being the exception, it's truly awful). read more

Great place to play darts or pool and's/or just to hang out for a drink or two after working hours

Just enjoyed a late lunch and cold beer with my son at this fabulous neighborhood bar/restaurant. All the Saturday college football games on big screens and good music that isn't too loud. We just had selections from the appetizer menu and everything was hot and crispy and fresh tasting. Lots of pool tables, darts and other games that look fun. Looking to come back with a group of friends. But it's comfortable enough to stop in on my own after a busy day. Welcome addition to a great location.
