This dating company is bad. They stated per contract that you had to attend a certain amount of events and if not happy you can cancel. When I attended many events then asked to cancel, they refused my request and told me that the remaining balance I owed would be put on my credit. They charged me twice for an event of which I had to dispute through my bank. After my last one on one date did not go well, I sent an email expressing my opinion of their company. My membership was terminated do to vulgar words used in the email. I am so happy this fraudulent company dissolved. They suck big time and their liars as they did not follow the promises of the contract. read more

Here's the scoop on this 'dating' service. I was a member for a little over 12 months (the length of the contract) a couple years back. Keep in mind that they could have updated the way things work since I was a member, but I doubt it. The cost is around $1400-1600 depending on the 'special' they have running at the time. That price might cover 12-14 months, again, depending on the special. Table for Six is a service where they pair 3 women and 3 men for an evening dinner out. You are seated at an age-appropriate table. That means the 20 somethings sit together. The 35-40s somethings sit together and the senior age group sits together. They don't generally pair people who are overly age inappropriate. For example, I was always seated in the 35-40 somethings group and never sat at the 'older' or 'younger' tables. You visit the web site weekly and set up your availability. If there's a table for you, they'll call you and tell you where and when. If not, you wait until the next week. As a guy, if you set up availability in the south bay, peninsula or SF, you're likely to get a table every time since there seemed to be fewer active men than women. The restaurants are priced anywhere from $$$, like California Cafe to $$$$, like Trader Vic's. That means, you're likely to drop anywhere between $25 and $50 on your meal. The only food item that is included as part of your 'meal' by T46 is a single glass of wine. You are responsible for the rest of food and tips for your own meal and each person pays their own check. The restaurants they use are generally limited and more upscale. Because T46 has a hard time getting restaurants to agree to how they work, they are limited to but a handful of places you are likely to visit over and over. So, in addition to the $1400 you have dropped for the membership, you're still going to drop $25-50 for each meal. With all that said, the 'dating' part of this is extremely loose and left up to you. If you find someone you like, it's up to you to take it further. But, don't go into T46 assuming you're going to find someone. Just take it one dinner at a time. If you don't go into this service with a lot of preset expectations, you'll have a lot more fun even if you don't find someone. If you go in assuming you're going to be perfectly age matched and find people with the same interests, you're going to be disappointed with this service. Instead, go in with no assumptions and you'll have a lot better time. At the same time, don't go into this service and only do one dinner a month. That's just a waste of membership money. You need to be a whole lot more active than that. T46 also offers other outings less frequently such as whitewater rafting and BBQ get togethers, but these are less about dating and more about mixing whole groups of ages of people together (including the T46 staff). These outings can be costly, like the whitewater rafting excursion. But, everyone I talked to who attended the excursion said it was tremendously fun. I personally felt the Table for Six service was pricey, especially for what you are getting out of the deal (e.g. setting you up with dinners that you still have to pay for). So, what you're paying for is primarily getting seated for dinner with 5 other people. Sometimes you have nice conversation and other times you have weird conversations. But, I never got the idea that T46 was really there to help find me a match. After my contract expired, I didn't renew and I also didn't get hounded about renewals either (which I've heard they do a 'hard sell' to get people to renew). While the dinners were mostly nice, I just wasn't getting anything out of it that I couldn't do on my own. That, and I was just tired of dropping $45 each time I did a table. I'm giving this service 3 stars because they at least provided a decent job of pairing up people for the dinners, but the duplication of restaurants and the expense of the dinners wore thin. If you go into Table for Six just looking to eat out once or twice a week without any other expectations, then it might be worth it. Just be careful about empty 'matching' promises and their hard upsells once you get into their office. Note, early in the lifespan of Table for Six they once sold lifetime memberships. While they no longer sell these memberships, there are still a number of people in the bay area who have them and occasionally use them. So, if you do enough tables, expect to be paired at a table with a lifetime member at some point. What I've generally found with these folks is that they're just in it for a night out with no real intent of looking for anyone. In fact, I think that they may use some of these membership holders as 'standby' when they can't actually make 6 at a table. read more

I've been a member for about one year. I've had a really great experience. After my first event, the white water rafting trip, I ended up in a long-term relationship with another table for six girl for about seven months. Since ending that relationship, I've recently started going to dinners and have really enjoyed each one. Not every dinner is a love connection but I enjoy meeting and becoming friends with most of my tablemates. I've also had strong connections with a few of the people at my tables. It's great to try new restaurants and meet new people who might become friends. I've found that Table for Six is what you make out of it. I'm a very social and outgoing person and feel it adds to my social experiences. I've met great women and men with such different backgrounds that I probably wouldn't have met otherwise. I'm not expecting T46 to do perfect profile matching like the "Millionaire Matchmaker." I've found that 70 percent of the people are really good, well-educated people that are successful professionally, but too busy to meet people. About 25 percent are nice people that are a little on the socially awkward side. About 5% are desperate folks. I'd say those proportions aren't too bad. I had high hopes for this service, but after 2 years of being stuck in a contract, it finally expired. Unfortunately I am now out $3,000. The only reason this place is even getting 1 star is because the sales lady was amazing, she got me hook, line and sinker, the website is easy to use... and I met a good female friend, the only reward for 2 years of dating hell! They get you in by promising "personalized matches" and only introducing you to people who meet the standards you tell them. Well that didn't happen. I was stuck at tables with guys that I had nothing in common with and were up to my shoulders. They were all very nice guys, but not my cup of tea. After discussing this with my "personalized matching consultant" and talking about what I was looking for, it didn't change, in fact it got worse. They say that there will be a hostess there to introduce you to people at your table (I hear they don't say this currently), but there was a hostess at one dinner, useless. At the tables a lot of the time people didn't even show up! The turnover at this place is also pretty bad. I had close to 5 (I think, I lost track) different consultants who knew "they could find me a great match" and was "so excited because I'm such a great girl." Just wanting to warn unsuspecting women thinking of signing up for TABLE FOR SIX that the dining adventures are a scam. There are a disproportionate number of women to men (I ESTIMATE AS MANY AS 8 TO 10 TIMES MORE WOMEN THAN MEN)and women do not have the opportunity to dine as often as promised. In my opinion it is a total ripoff. Unless you think that the average cost of a dinner of about $250.00 plus food (based on how many times you ACTUALLY DINE) is a good deal my advise is if you are a woman to check with other women who have joined to get their feedback before you plunk down $3000 based on their misleading sales pitch. She wouldn't talk about cost and said that "people in your category were in great demand and we will make every effort to make the service 'affordable' depending upon what level of service you are interested in" all we need to do is interview you to verify your authenticity. It turned out that after driving from San Jose to Mt View, (about 20 miles) the only thing these people are interested in is separating me from $1500 with no proof of results or guaranty of any kind after they take your money! I am a table for six member for the last 15 months. After reading that previous post, I needed to mention something. My experience with Table for Six has been exceptional. I have met many great people at the events and dinners, and have dated several really nice women. My "scoring average" so to speak, is a lot better now than before joining Table for Six! Obviously, this person has no idea what they are saying, because the servive staff members at the mountain view office are wonderful. Those ladies setup fantastic dinners with many interesting people, and potential matches. The events and matches are great too! I think I can speak for 99% of the members of the Mountain View Table for Six Club, when I say that we love an appreciate the hardworking people there who make these great happenings possible. It diminishes the Yelp community when people post really negative reviews about things that they don't know anything about. Some people should just stick to restaurant reviews. read more

I too have been a member for about one year and have tended to dip in and out of the program as my schedule allows. I joined up because I felt I had tried a lot of other social events but was getting tired of hopping from one event to another. It's interesting to see of the 4 reviews to date, the 2 male reviews are positive and the 2 female reviews are negative. I'm tipping the balance 3-2 in favor of the positive. This is a really enjoyable program, my experience has been that it is very well managed and frankly, like any other social situation, you get out of it exactly what YOU put in. To start, I'm a pretty sociable person and I've found the people I've met (over 6-7 dinners and a couple of other activities since I joined) to be interesting, friendly people from a variety of different backgrounds. I initially baulked at the near $3000 one-time sign up fee, but then there's a lot of less useful ways that I flitter $125 a month or $30 per week. At that level, I know the people I meet are genuinely interested in meeting others and that has been my experience to date. As to the ratio of women to men in the program, it should follow by that logic that I would get called on all the time to go to dinners and events but that's not been the case. Equally, it would then not be in their interest to help anyone - male or female - find a match and again, that's not been the case. Most of the women I've met at the tables talk about the numbers, but I don't recall anyone saying it had affected them. I sign up at my own pace and they have responded promptly. If there is a gender imbalance, maybe the positive male reviews here can act as a spur to some more guys to get out there. I think the trick with enjoying the events and dinners is to go with a reasonable expectation level. I have not attended any event thinking that "today's the day." I've met some great people, men and women, including, afterwards, some of their friends. At almost every dinner I attended, I met someone that sparked some level of interest. And that's been the most impressive part - the ability of the Table for Six team to handpick a compatible group of people. I would go along with the review below on the percentages: about 70% are savvy, enjoyable people that are busy professionals. I have never come across anyone rude or obnoxious and on several occasions, the group has clicked very well and stayed together for the entire evening. This doesn't happen every time, but that would not be realistic: no social event guarantees an outcome. Table For Six stacks the cards in your favor by improving the odds of meeting interesting, like-minded people, male and female and after that you make of it what you will and can. I was surprised at but enjoyed the camaraderie that built up quickly at most of the dinners. Also, after each dinner you fill in a feedback form and outline who was most interesting to you and why. They definitely use this feedback where possible to hone the group at each successive dinner or event. And you can always pick up the phone and chat with the staff too. As for the restaurants, they're good - nothing particularly to write home about but maybe that's the point. The emphasis should be on your fellow diners, not the 5-star menu that takes an age to pick through and order from. Like most people I think, I'm better in certain social situations than others. The program offers a number of different ways of meeting up and I've opted for the ones I'm more comfortable with. Everyone I've dealt with in the office has been great and have made good recommendations and choices for me. So, finally, has anything come of the dinners and events? Yes. I dated someone for a couple of months in the Spring and more recently I clicked really well with someone else and I'm exploring that at the moment. Having not met anyone of much interest in the year or two prior to joining Table For Six, I feel like this has been a good investment in me, for me. I like that the program gets me out on a regular basis into a familiar and comfortable setting with people with a common outlook as often as I choose. I have been a member of TableForSix for over three years. Like most members, I was out of the dating scene for many years and wondered how best to re-enter that scary landscape. The ready pool of college life is a distant memory, most friends are married, work can be a mine field, and online dating services are fraught with risks and require sifting through a plethora of information with questionable veracity. What to do? A friend suggested TableForSix, which appealed to me because they do all the work of finding and matching people. The three services--three-on-three dining, group activities, and one-on-one blind dates--provide a nice array of choices. I prefer the dining because it gives the best opportunity to meet and talk in some depth with a variety of women. For those who prefer meeting people in the forum of a group activity, TableForSix provides an amazingly eclectic array from which to choose--wine tasting, hiking, dancing, skiing, museums, even trapeze lessons! There is an activity for almost any taste. TableForSix is a match-making service, but it is also a good social club. There is an opportunity to make friends and business contacts of both sexes. I have found the quality of people quite high. In most cases members engage readily but with respect for each other. Of course, you will likely get a taste of everything if you meet enough people (many entertaining stories in my T46 tenure), but the overwhelming majority of contacts have been positive ones for me. Another nice feature is that you can call the staff at any time to provide feedback (good or bad). This has two big advantages over an impersonal method: (1) the staff gets increasing insight into your preferences which leads to better matches, and (2) they become personally vested in your success. Nothing guarantees success. Chemistry is almost impossible to gauge a priori, and the language of love is a perplexing mystery to most of us (sigh). From my observation the members who are most disappointed are those who expect to find Mr/Ms Right quickly. That doesn't happen very often. It is quite disappointing that my special someone remains elusive. However, I don's see that as a TableForSix failure, because I have been introduced to many fine women through TableForSix. I continue with TableForSix because it is the best venue I have found to meet quality women on a regular basis, and it gives me hope that one day the right one will come along. Even if she doesn't I feel grateful for the contacts I've made. Table for Six is great if you are a man. If you are a women, be prepared to receive many, many emails saying that T46 can't fit you in to a dinner that evening. Regret emails are the norm. When they can manage to fit you in, you will dine with people that you share nothing in common with. What a waste of $3,000 and time for women. I talked to several men that love it. I believe that the membership ration is something like 10 women for every 1 man. Not good odds if you are serious about meeting someone. After reading the review below and after having been a member for a year I think there ought to be some balance of reviews. I'll agree that there does seem to be a disproportionate number of women to men. Yes men do dine out more than women but let's face it that is generally the case in social networks. Looking for a social outlet like many of us, Table for Six gives me good opportunities. They recently went through a restructuring and things have been a whole lot better since then. My new contact Mikka is terrific in that she is in contact often and she listens to what I'm looking for and does want to make good introductions. One great bonus is that I have 3 terrific girlfriends that I met through the club. One of them is getting married next month to someone she met at an event. Another has been dating someone for about 3 months that she dined with. The other 2 of us are still looking. Yes, it's pricey, but to me that means that men who are there are really interested in finding someone. The people I have dined with are of good caliber, interesting jobs, and I generally have a good time at every dinner. The whole concept of dining with a group of 6 is a pretty relaxed atmosphere and a good way to meet people if you want to go beyond hanging out at bars. read more

I was harassed and repeatedly called 5 times within 3 minutes after having to cancel a consultation meeting in Mountain View. I had an emergency and had to call and cancel my 11am appointment. Although I was not able to call until a few minutes before the appointment, I DID call them. While on the phone with the 888 number, I received another phone call regarding my emergency and politely said thank you and hung up to answer my other line. The girl then repeated called me one call after another 5 times while I was on the other line trying to deal with a very traumatic situation. She then left a harassing and intimidating message on my voicemail telling me how dare I call 5 minutes before my appointment when I knew very well the lady I was meeting with was traveling 45 minutes just to meet with me at their "office" in Mountain View. (Although I myself had also traveled over an hour to meet her myself when I got the phone call!). She proceeded to tell me how "unprofessional" I was to cancel at the last minute. (I don't think "professionalism" comes into dating, unless of course you're running another type of "business"!!! She continued to chastise me verbally on the voicemail. I returned the call (and of course got her voicemail although I called twice to reach her personally). I told her in response to her question of what she should do with my information, that she could put it in the trash because I am the CUSTOMER and by NO means would be giving them MY money!! If this is the way they handle prospective customers BEFORE they get the check, I can only imagine the "customer service" after they cash your check! This girl's name was Irene. I am in the legal profession and really don't appreciate receiving the battery of redial calls while I am on an emergency call and the harassing and intimidating voicemail. Beware of these people. The personalized attention I received from LIBBY was fabulous. After a couple of lukewarm " Just for Two " dates I decided to drive up to San Francisco and meet with Libby and let her get to know me better. She was darling, personable and very sincere in her desire to find the perfect match for me. She called about a week after our meeting to say she had just spoken with a man she thought had all the qualifications I was looking for. We met for a drink, and hit it off right away ! He was a new member of Table for Six and I scooped him up before he could date anyone else. Lucky me !!! We have been together for 7 months and we're having a blast. Table for six is clearly a better deal for men than women (based on reviews) and my experience. The women are fantastic, there are good guys, but there are far too few of them. I joined and attended 4-5 events. They block the women from signing up to get a balance because there are many more women than men. It is hard to even get admitted to attend. I've even seen targeted newspaper advertising for just men because they have an issue with the numbers. Basically, if you are female, instead of paying $3000, take that money and invest in golf, ski, or tennis lessons where the male ratios are better and have fun learning something new. BTW, I think many of the positive reviews are written by staff because they use the same marketing pitch. And if you join and are not happy, you will not get any money back. read more

I joined Table for Six after I heard their ad on the radio. It sounded very professional. I joined them after I met with one of their staff for two hours of Q&A. They made alot of promises about their service and the available men (within my requirements) that they would introduce to me. The first dinner, with 3 men and 3 women, one (woman) was a no show, the three men were ALL older than I had requested. I am in my early 50's and wanted to meet someone in the same age range. I went back and forth emailing the company (asking for a refund) and they agreed to start from scratch & agreed to extend my contract by 3 months. Couple of months later, I was set up on a "date" with a much older man, more than 8 years older than the max I had requested. Before I went on this date, I asked T46 employee how old this person was and she LIED and told me a much younger age for this "date". Within couple of weeks, she was fired. By this time, I knew T46 was not honest and did not have the pool of available men to introduce to me. I again asked for the refund of $4900 and asked them to cancel my membership. T46 refused. I took them to small claims court and unfortunately, like all the people that had done the same (I did check the law suits against them) I lost. I know the system sucks, especially since someone like the GM of the company is so used to being sued and coming to court. He brought picture of the old man they set me up with. The picture looked much younger that the person I met. The GM lied about having members that fit my criteria and told the judge if I give them another chance they will set me up with people that do fit my criteria. I don't understand how the judge made his decision but T46 is taking advantage of people and they LIE about their available members. I understood I signed a valid contract with T46 but I also understood that it was a two way contract, I was paying all that money to them and they were going to introduce me to quality men that fit the criteria I provided them. If you are thinking of joining, DON'T waste your money. I have never written a bad review anywhere. These people are so dishonest that I feel the need to write this. I am a professional business woman, and I believed their lies. I feel like they stole the $4900 from me. After the judge's decision, T46 cancelled my membership and told me they owe me NOTHING since I took them to small claims. I still had 3 dates with 6 in a group and 2 one on one left. The sales lady was very friendly but she is a liar too. During our two hour meeting, she told me about all the wonderful men (members) that they will introduce to me. I did not meet one person within the age I had requested. I had requested age range of my age up to 5 years older. I joined them instead of some of the cheaper on line sites because they promised to screen the people and only set me up with what I ask for. NOT TRUE. They also lie about their fee. If they think they can get away with charging you more, they will. I noticed in the reviews and the court papers filed by other unhappy clients that they don't have a set fee. I just renewed my membership with Table For Six. Having lived in the Bay Area for 15 years I can honestly say this is by far the best introduction service available. I'm embarrassed to admit that two other introduction services took my money and didn't deliver (one was a total scam), but Table for Six has. It's very easy to get into a routine of coming home after work and not going out. This is an easy, pre-arranged way to meet the type of screened members of the opposite sex that you want to meet. I have met a lot of nice ladies through this service and gone out with a few as a result. You get out of this service what you put into it. Kate in the Mountain View office has taken really good care of me and knows the type of people I want to meet. As an aside I've also made some important business contacts as well.
