I didn't have high expectations for this place, as it looks to be a hotel restaurant. But, it was surprisingly tasty! I snagged the happy hour special of that day which just happened to be a queso, pepper & onion burger. As always it wasn't cooked how I asked (medium rare) but was actually much close to medium well, but I find it really hard to find somewhere that actually does that when they ask. We came at the busy time of a Sunday morning, but it only took about 20 minutes to get a table for four adults and two kids. This 20 minutes afforded us time to split a citrusy, delicious G'Knight IPA at bar. They set us up at a great booth, perfect for a big group. For lunch we split the Sonora chicken salad with the crispy chicken. It was absolutely delicious, and I was so glad we split, since we had a large, late breakfast at our friends' house and neither one of us was starving. However, whether you're hungry or not, be sure and order the chips and salsa -they're not complimentary but totally worth it. They also had a good kids menu full of fun activities for kiddos and the regular kids' menu options. The other adults at our table had chicken enchiladas and the burger, and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. I'm really torn on the rating for this place so I'm going with happy medium here and giving it 3 stars. Last year I stayed here and had a room with a view of the mountains a separate sink form the shower/stall area and it was such a wonderful visit.. The lady who greeted me was so friendly and welcoming. Last year it was a quick trip and only stayed 2 nights. This is what made me come back to stay here this past weekend... What a totally different experience! The stay this time was 4 nights, the room had no view (unless you call looking at the building 2 feet away a view) which honestly wasn't that big of a deal since I wasn't spending much time in the room anyway.. The bathroom was all on area, which I must say was disappointing.. The front desk folks were not rude but they weren't very friendly or welcoming at all.. Walked up to the front desk and not acknowledged at all.. The restaurant gets 5 stars. Food was excellent for breakfast, dinner.. Servers Connor and Jake were great! Attentive, personable and on top of it! The only thing I didn't care for was the BBQ burger it was drenched in BBQ sauce that didn't really taste that great. Connor highly recommended the trout and I must say it was tasty! There were several wedding receptions going on the weekend we were there this last time and made for very limited parking, lots of people running around and noise... read more

I'd stay there again. The room wasn't super big but it fit what I needed. The price was really good. If you go try to get a room with a view (I didn't but my booking was late). I got in late and the staff was pretty friendly, but the restaurant was closed. The room was reasonably clean and the upkeep was ok. The hotel wasn't super full. The parking is really nice (right by the door) and I was able to find a space every day. It's within walking distance to anything you pretty much need. I forgot my toothbrush and they were able to replace it, which I was so grateful for, saving me a trip to walgreens in the middle of the night. As others have mentioned the beds are SUPER SUPER AWESOME. Great night's sleep. I had dinner in the restaurant a couple of times, and had room service one night. Their cheeseburgers are good. They're pre-formed patties and almost certainly frozen but they cooked them well and the bun was good and so were the fries. I had a magarita that was very large and it was also good. The service in the restaurant was friendly an prompt. Overall a nice hotel. It's kind of like a huge bed and breakfast...if you prefer a more professional forma hotel (some people don't like bed and breakfasts) you would probably not prefer it. read more

I'll be honest - I'm a complete sucker for a good Hollandaise. In fact, I think I'm even a sucker for a bad Hollandaise. Mmmm, Hollandaise!. I can't explain it. I don't even like lemon. I don't want to explain it. We chose this spot for exactly one reason - when I pulled out my Yelp app and went looking for open restaurants on a Sunday morning, this was the first one I saw that had a check-in offer. 15% off the meal, to be exact. Not bad. Given my aforementioned love of Hollandaise, I was delighted to find Eggs Benedict on the menu - with steak. This is doubly exciting, as I'm not a fan of ham. I asked the waitress if the chipotle Hollandaise was spicy, and she told me that it had no flavor at all. Hmmm.... not the most ringing endorsement. I'm from Boston, so, to me, it had a bit of a kick. Anyway, the eggs were delicious. I love that they bring out a basket of cinnamon rolls to start the meal. And my coffee cup stayed near full, which is extremely important to me at 8 am on a Sunday. Being strangers in town, we wound up back the next night for dinner. (Did I mention that there's no remotely Mexican food in Boston?) I got a pork chimichanga. YUM! I think my aunt almost had a heart attack at the idea of a deep-fried burrito, but it was really good, if a little spicier than I'm used to (read: 0). I was bummed that I was headed straight to the airport, so I couldn't take the leftovers with me. I like that they bring you cornbread, but hate that they put jalepenos in it (or something spicy - peppers? I don't know. I didn't like it). This is a great hotel. The accommodations and lobby are gorgeous. I stayed here when my Sister got married. She had the reception here. There was a couple of mistakes, but they took care of pretty much everything. The worst was when we found out they did not have my parents room reserved. They made reservations months in advance. Upon arriving we could not check in immediately, but Table Mountain said everything was ready. Once we were able to check in, they said they did not have my parents suite reserved, which two hours prior they said everything was ready (this was the day of the wedding). My parents were able to check into the last available room in the hotel, and the manager comped the room. All is well again. Anyway, my room was great. Very large with a balcony facing the mountains. Awesome. The restaurant attached to Table Mountain was great as well. Probably one of the best hotel restaurants I have been to. I love the city, love the hotel, and the service is very accommodating. I wanted to stay a couple of more nights. read more

We've had the margaritas here and they are pretty good and if I remember correctly it's a pretty good deal for what you get. The other night we decided to try the actual restaurant part with some friends in town who are gluten free. Since Mexican is a safe option with gluten free friends, it's safe to say the gluten free selection is pretty big. The chips and salsa were pretty good and the cornbread muffins are very yummy. I thought a few of the dishes were a little too smothered in sauces and chili. My rellenos were a big portion but the flavor of the chili was so over powering there wasn't much taste of the crunchy outside or the gooey cheese. We didn't order dessert but I saw a couple ice cream sundaes that went by that looked pretty good. The only thing that stuck out in my mind was that everything was just way overpriced. For service and food that didn't really stand out it was hard to justify the costs. My other concern was the atmosphere. It was dark, stuffy, and knick knacks all over. I just always think about how dusts collects on random vases and wooden trinkets above my food. It's got a casa bonita vibe going on....not in a good way. However there's definitely a south of the border 80s/90s theme going on so I can see how it could be fun for some folks. We will return for a late night margarita and maybe some chips and salsa but will definitely pass on dinner in the future. read more

Man this was a neat little place we found in the heart of Golden. My group was looking for some original non-chain fare and came across the Table Mountain Inn Grill & Cantina. So I had the all you can eat Mesa Ribs with sour cream and chive mashed potatoes. This was a very nice meal, and the seasonal brew was pretty good as well. The ribs were tender and flavorful, the mashed taters were really great, and the green chile corn muffins were absolutely fantastic. The service was fast and attentive, and the place was clean. I also felt the prices were decent. This would be the type of place that I would meet a bunch of friends at, to enjoy more of the Colorado micro brews and food. It didn't blow me away but it was better than average, so for you Table Mountain Inn Grill & Cantina, I award you with four green chile corn muffin stars! read more

My wife and her friends went here for drinks and they were going to grab some food to bring home to the family. I've attached a picture of one of our to-go orders and they were all the same. We ordered burgers with french fries and there were hardly any french fries at all in all of our orders. Like they were running low, and just giving people 1/4 servings thinking it would be ok. I met here once for drinks with the girls, and then tried it again for Valentine's Day dinner with the hubs. I'm still willing to give it one more shot, but only because I refuse to believe it can possibly be this consistently bad... Third time's a charm --right? Right?! The first time, the drinks were fine, but the server was utterly uneducated about the menu. A few questions about the differences between tequilas and particular kinds of margaritas and, instead of offering to ask someone else the answers, she stammered a quick, unintelligible response and hightailed it away from our table as fast as possible... Our bill was also incorrect. Last night was Valentine's Day and of course the place was packed, so the kitchen should be given a little wiggle room, sure. We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks while we waited for our table. The bartender was friendly and gave us several moments of her undivided attention (very appreciated) but everything went downhill once we were seated. My burger (ordered medium) was bloody in the middle and charred on the outside -- grill way too hot? -- and my husband's chicken was literally raw. He sent it back (he never sends anything back) and we waited almost 45 minutes for it to be returned from the kitchen. They offered us a free dessert (an apple-cinnamon "chimichanga") which, not unlike the burger, was flaming hot in some spots and literally frigid in others. All said, the manager apologized in person and in the end, comped the chicken AND the dessert (we didn't even complain, so it was nice of them to make the first move), but it'll still be hard to convince us to go back... -- UPDATE -- Okay so I've been back several times to TMI, allbeit begrudgingly at first, and feel the need to revise my review. I've had dinner again once and it was (again) disappointing. However, my husband took me here for Mothers Day Brunch and it was spectacular. Expensive, but spectacular. I came another time with some girls for breakfast one morning and it was quite good. But I've had a complete turnaround since realizing that sticking to the bar might be the trick here. And discovering the white wine sangria was the icing on the cake -- I actually find myself craving it on a daily basis. I just stayed here for two nights and had dinner in the restaurant one night. The room was quite luxurious - spacious, well appointed, well made up. Quiet, nice view. Free parking, right on the main street of Golden with a good coffee shop across the street. The desk clerks were less impressive, there was some confusion about how much my room cost, and two friends actually ran into mistakes in the accounting. One of the two light bulbs over my mirror was burnt out, and it was not replaced even though I mentioned it to the front desk. I had the unlimited rib dinner, no complaints there. read more

We were really disappointed in this restaurant. The happy hour drinks were good and inexpensive. The food was really not worth much. Queso dip - lots of chips and pita, not much luke warm cheese Filet - good cut and cooked as ordered. The bacon asparagus was the only thing to rave about Pinot Cherry Chicken - great flavor, but super greasy. When I get a chicken crusted in something, I don't want it soggy with grease. The mixed veggies had a bunch of bell peppers, even though I requested no bell peppers. Mac n Cheese - very disappointing - it even looked sad! Would rather have Kraft out of the box. My fiance had picked this hotel for our 1st time visit to CO for Christmas. He had done his research before selecting a place for us to stay. He did GREAT! This hotel was adorable and unique from the get go. Check out their bar and restaurant, my fiance enjoyed the Colorado Native beer. I enjoyed our room that had not only a bathtub with jets but also a fireplace and balcony view of Table Mountain. The only 2 complains I have are 1. Our room had some noisy next door neighbors that would slam their doors or let go of their door and it would be so loud. It was annoying at night 2. The hotel had a Christmas Buffet on Xmas Eve but we did not know of this before, so we were unable to join. Would have been helpful and nice to have known when we booked the room for that week. read more

Hmmm - well - it is better than a chain Mexican restaurant but not much better. The margaritas were good and only $6 which is always a plus but that is about it for the goods... We ordered guacamole and salsa to start. The guac was alright - nothing special - and the spicy version didn't have any kick. The chips were stale and they have there weird pita like chips. I think they could be good but they were way too greasy and bready to make a good salsa chip. Then came out the green chile corn bread muffins. I was SO excited when I saw them on the menu and that they came with my meal but I was terribly let down when I took my first bite. Very stale and little to no flavor. Sadness. Next was my meal. I am vegetarian so I went for the veggie enchiladas. Why do so many restaurants think that the only way to make vegetables taste good is to cover them in cheese. I think there was about 3 lbs of cheese on my plate and about a 1/2 cup of grease to go with it. Yuck. I spent a month in Mexico and none of my vegetarian meals were covered in cheese. My friend and I were looking for a tasty breakfast during a recent weekend in Colorado. Having slept in a little, we didn't know what our options would be and were happy to find that the Table Mountain Inn had brunch till 2 on the weekends. We were further pleased to discover they offer a free cinnamon roll with brunch purchase! I decided to go with something savory since I was getting the roll as well and ordered the breakfast burrito. I convinced my friend to do the same and I believe she went with the Cattleman's (eggs, choice of meat & choice of potatoes or fruit). The rolls arrived and I'll admit I was a little disappointed as they weren't the traditional doughy cinnamon roll I know and love but rather an almost crescent roll type pastry. That's not to say it wasn't good, it was very, very tasty and had it been what I was expecting may have been too much in addition to my very filling entree. My burrito arrived with the added avocado I asked for and was very good! I loved the chili sauce on top. My only complaint was that it could have used a little less egg and a few more veggies. The accompanying potatoes made up for that however, having both onions and green peppers with them. Overall, I was very satisfied with the food and my friend was as well. As for the staff, they were all very attentive and friendly. I would definitely return if I'm ever in Golden again! read more

I have known about this place for quite some time as a dining destination, and great place for happy hour, but I have never stayed in the hotel. When I finally tried it, I was very pleased with the hotel experience. The rooms have a sort of Southwest, "Santa Fe" feel to them, as does the entire hotel, and it is very well done. Everywhere we went in the hotel was clean, neat, well-kept, and pleasant. Our room was neither big, nor small, but it was plenty large enough for us, with plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was a bit small, but we managed. After having stayed in a lot of hotels that were run down, had cracks in the wall, or were just plain dirty, this place was a nice change of pace. The service was impeccable. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and courteous. It was a nice, hotel experience. The beds were comfortable with refrigerators, big TV's, and WiFi, but I have to admit the WiFi was as "high speed" as advertised. It was, however, adequate for most needs. Personally, I liked this hotel, its central location, and its free, covered parking. It's an easy walking distance to many dining venues, bars, and other attractions in downtown Golden, and I would recommend it to anyone, especially parents visiting their children at the School of Mines. The College is right down the street, and within easy walking distance for most. read more

Table Mountain Inn is as Golden as the Coors Brewery, Woody's, "Where The West Lives", Buffalo Bill Days, the School of Mines and of course, its namesake, the Table Mountains. It's a staple of Golden, and since I grew up around Golden, I grew up eating at Table Mountain Inn. This is everyone's favorite restaurant where you can walk right in without a reservation, and everyone's favorite schmaltzy, rustic-Southwest-themed, small town watering hole. Oh and also, there's the acutal hotel segment of the establishment above the restaurant, which I basically know nothing about. On my latest visit to TMI, I was pleased to find out that the management has maintained its guarantee to house the most Southwest-themed restaurant that isn't in the Southwest. Seriously, the number of Navajo artifacts on the walls has probably increased three-fold since my last visit, and I'll be damned if I didn't see at least a dozen Kokopellis. And, in true wild-west rustler fashion, you won't be using a napkin, but rather a cowboy's bandana to wipe your muzzle. Yee-haw! Interestingly enough, we were surprised that the management decided to renovate the menu. Generic mainstays like the nachos and artichoke dip are gone in favor of more exotic dishes like tortilla soup and "Buffalo Sopes". I guess TMI was encroaching too much on everyone's other favorite authentic Southwest restaurant, Chili's. Reeling from the confusion of no nachos, we picked the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms to begin ($7). We got five or so mushroom caps lined up impressively on a little platter. I'm pretty sure that every restaurant in the world has this appetizer, but even so, the presentation was surprising for this restaurant, and the sauce with chunks of bacon was tasty. We decided to split the Chicken Tamale ($10). First came out our complimentary green chile corn muffins, piled in a paper-lined cone. These muffins, which are basically cornbread with a spicy tinge to them, were freshly-baked warm and a little sweet. Then, the tamale. It came freshly emerged from its corn husk, and surrounded by beans and rice. First of all, the tamale is huge - it's probably just a little smaller than your average brick. The corn was substantial and full-flavored, yet cooked lightly enough to crumble apart by a fork's touch. It's one of the better tamales I've had, and definitely the biggest. All-in-all, TMI provided another nice, familiar experience, while suggesting that they are beginning to revamp the menu and explore more traditional Southwest dishes. I am writing this review on our last night of stay. We first were assigned room 217. It was in the back of the hotel and initially, my wife and I noted a musty smell in the room. It was small and cozy but servicable. The heating/cooling unit in the room was very loud. Overall, however, we felt that the room was adequate for the price ... until at about 4-5 AM, we were both woken up by a loud noise of what sounded like a garbage truck trying to pick up a large dumpster just outside our room. It seemed that we could hear everything - every gear shift, every hitching and unhitching and the thunderous clang of an empty dumpster being dropped to the ground was unbearable. We thought it was bad luck that we happened to book this room on this day ... until ... it happened again the very next night/morning. That morning, my wife called the front desk and asked for a room change. It was coincidence but another truck had come during the call and was making a racket. The front desk person could not believe that that much noise could be happening just outside our room with all the windows closed. She agreed to changed our room ... for a price increase. She told us that it would cost $9 more a day to be moved. We said whatever - we need a new room. We were shifted to room 402 - much bigger, no smell, quieter AC unit, no loud sounds waking up in the middle of the morning. Overall, this is a nice small hotel, excellent parking (free) with clean serviceable rooms. However, both my wife and i thought that for principal sake, the hotel should not have charged us the extra for requesting to switch rooms. I can understand the charge if we were requesting a change because of a frivolous reason. But being woken up twice in the middle of the morning two days in a row by what seemed like a bulldozer just outside our room to me is not a frivolous reason. It's like asking the staff that we want a new room because there are a 1000 cockroaches in the room ... and them responding, "well we can do that for you if you are willing to pay extra..." So if you're going to stay at this hotel, pay extra up front to stay at 402 and do not for any reason stay at room 217. read more

This isn't just a place to stay, it's an experience. Such a cute inn with A Spanish theme. The staff offer a family style appeal and everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are smaller but the beds are equipped with memory foam, which made for a great nights sleep. The in room dining menu was nothing I had ever seen but one I very much appreciated, a full page of Mexican entrees. I had the vegetable enchiladas and they were delicious. The area is so cute and shops and dining all walkable. Just a very adorable little downtown with beautiful views of golden hills. read more

Great hotel in a nice location in Golden. First room with a King was a little small but we didn't spend much time in room anyhow. Next stay we had a double Queen with much more space. Really liked the decor, amenities, front desk service, location, and ambiance. Parking is extremely convenient and FREE. Restaurant was good, not great for what I ordered. Service was a little lacking but we're in Covid times (lack of workers). Bar is very nice. Will definitely stay again when staying around the foothills of Denver. Do like. Stopped in today for happy hour. We had the margs ($4 for a giant marg)- pretty good prices, but the margs were a bit weak and too sweet. For the price, I'm willing to overlook it. We ordered chili cheese fries (green chili, not icky red), wings, and the dang quesadilla. We enjoyed all of them. The wings were BBQ-y, sweet, and hot, and we got 6 for $4 during happy hour. The "homemade" blue cheese dressing that came with the wings was extremely mild and bland. The "blue cheese" had the taste and consistency of cottage cheese. Not my favorite, but the wings were big and meaty and I like that. I'd definitely go back again. It reminds me of some of the older hotels in Santa Fe, and I like that homey feel. read more

Those dining with me ordered breakfast burrito, banana bread French toast, and a smothered golden omelette. Banana bread french toast was tasty although very rich as expected. They served it with real maple syrup. Would recommend you opt for the potatoes over the fruit. The fruit was a couple small tasteless slices of honey dew and cantaloupe with a few grapes. A cheddar biscuit came with my meal and it was pretty dense and tasty. Pricing is reasonable considering its a hotel and you do get a ton of food for your money. The main reason why I go to TMI is for their prime rib special. For under $15, you get a big slice of prime rib and mashed potatoes. I usually add a salad to that, but there's no need unless you feel like a salad is somehow going to make up for eating such a carnivorous meal. The prime rib is always tender and flavorful, and a dip in the au jus and horseradish is a must! The mashed potatoes are nice, but sometimes they can be a little salty. I've also gone for their Thanksgiving buffet and I will never forget their buffalo pot pie, or the huge expanse of food that awaited me when I walked in that door. They have a pretty decent happy hour, but their margaritas are pretty inconsistent - I've had nice balanced ones, strong ones, and weak ones. I would pass on their all-you-can-eat wing bar (if you're going for taste, that is) and opt for some of their other appetizers. Their sweet potato fries are to do for - nice and crispy but soft on the inside, just the way I like them. They also have a great breakfast, which they serve with some very delicious biscuits (I suspect they also have sweet potato in them somewhere). I love this place, have been a frequent visitor since they opened. The tequilla drinks are amazing. The chocolate taco is to die for. Staff is very nice, helpful, I've never had a problem from the kitchen (steak cooked wrong, things like that never ever had a problem). We went here for Mother's Day brunch. Since we had reservations, we were seated immediately. The decor was really nice; we enjoyed the rustic wooden ceilings and the southwestern accents, all the way down to the cloth napkins. The buffet was set up in a room that seemed far too small for it. It was very difficult to get food without bumping into, and tangoing with, a bunch of strangers. As for the food: a.) The good: There were a few things I really found enjoyable: the caesar salad with "Tamayo" croutons, the spicy skillet potatoes, the pork loin, and the desserts. I'm not sure what "Tamayo" means; for all I know, it stands for "salty, spicy, and delicious." Same for the potatoes. The pork loin was cooked perfectly, and was very tender and m-word. I don't think the desserts (e.g., French silk pie, mini cheesecakes, mini cupcakes, red velvet cake) were homemade, but they were still pretty awesome tasting. They were sweet and did not taste like chemicals -- very much unlike the desserts at the Ameristar Casino's buffet, for example. b.) The blah: I expected to like some things a lot more than I actually did. When I bit into a "cinnamon roll," I thought it'd be cinnamon-y, sweet, and gooey, but instead it tasted of apple. So, too, did the mini crepes, which had apple filling. I guess I didn't understand the apple theme. c.) The ugly: For god's sake, please take the enchiladas and the meat dishes with slimy, wilted greens off the line! The enchilada was cold, had zero flavor, and was nearly impossible to cut through with a butter knife. The wilted greens were uninviting to the extent that I couldn't bring myself to actually try the dishes that they graced. On another plus note, the service was very good. We went here for brunch and the food was really good! I had the golden omelette and coffee. I love that they bring you cinnamon rolls as a free appetizer. Also, get the biscuits they are so delicious. read more
