I have been coming to Taci's Beyti since 2013 and frequented it a lot when I lived in Brooklyn but now moving to Queens for the past few years I still make the trip over 2-3 times a year. The quality of their food has always been top notch and honestly is my favorite spot for a Turkish meal. Their hummus and basically all their skewers, kababs and grilled meats are simply amazing. Fast forward, I haven't gone to Taci's Beyti for over a year and I just recently went for our anniversary dinner over the weekend. Place still felt the same, so I ordered my hummus, mixed grill and the chicken kebab for the misses. When The entrees arrived, I was a bit disappointed. They seem to have changed what use to come with their main entrees. Gone is the bed of thinly sliced onions under your meats, so is the roasted pepper and also the roasted tomato. Three items I actually enjoyed having with my entree. They also changed the pita under the meats as well but they replaced it with a very sad salad instead, with no dressing or even a vinaigrette at that. Just plain dry leaves with some red onions. They also have two prices now, one for cash and one for credit, the cost has gone up (which I understand) but they've also cut the portions and what use to come with it. Yes the food is still good but after that last trip I am rethinking about ever going back. I am disappointed that either through choice, greed, or whatever they decided to cut back. Time to scout and try some other Turkish restaurants in the boroughs I suppose, and no I am not leaving a one star review, their food quality and taste hasn't changed. This spot feels like home. The service was helpful, welcoming, and kind throughout the night. I genuinely find myself craving the dishes they serve, which is what keeps me coming back. I have them 4 stars although I was generous. Taci's Beyti has a one standing reputation as being one of the top Turkish restaurants in Brooklyn. I came here with a friend for their birthday celebration. The food was very good, no complaints. I would give them only 3 stars for service and policy. The service was just ok. The staff were polite, although they did not even ask if the food was good. There were three of us and two dishes came out first and it took about another five minutes for the last dish to come out. So two of us waited while our food got cold. I was very disappointed to find out there were several items available although they were not on the menu and basically reserved for either a "regular" or if you happen to see the plate on another table and were expected to ask "what's that? REALLY? Why not say we offer specials?? The restaurant is large and does cater for larger parties. They have a very limited alcohol selection, basically just wine. Prices are average, their menu shows cash and credit card prices for each dish. You will pay about 3.9% more if you pay by credit card. The ambience is ok, we came on a Sunday afternoon. The walls are brick, there are two separate dining rooms. The kitchen is in the back and there are two bathrooms on each side located by each kitchen. We started with the eggplant spread, the pan fried liver and the lava bread which is what they called ballon bread". The eggplant and liver were very good. The balloon bread was huge, but lacked flavor. I've had it where there is butter and salt in the base so it is moist and served warm. For mains we had the filleted Bronzino, which came with a salad. The chicken kabob and grilled shrimp came with a choice of rice French fries or salad. The mains are large portions and were all very good. We were very full so we skipped desert. I would recommend them if you live in the area although I truly feel there are better choices. For me, I'm not sure if I will be back. I usually don't plug other restaurants in a review, although for this one I have to. I would highly recommend Bosphorus Grill in Port Washington, on Long Island. . Taci's Beyti is an absolute classic and one of the best spots for authentic Turkish food. It has been around for so many years, and after eating here, it's easy to see why. It's consistently excellent, comforting, and unforgettable. I always start with the Shepherd Salad, which comes beautifully topped with a generous layer of cheese that covers the entire surface. It's fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. Alongside it, they serve bread straight from the oven: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and paired perfectly with their salty, melty butter. It's so good that I sometimes fill up just on the bread and salad before the main dishes even arrive. Another must-order appetizer is the cheese cigars. These are outstanding: crispy, golden filo dough wrapped around a warm, gooey filling of cheese and herbs. They come out piping hot, straight from the kitchen, so as tempting as it is to bite right in, you'll want to let them cool just slightly (I've burned my mouth more than once because I couldn't resist!). For mains, I usually go with either the mixed grill platter or the chicken shish kebab if I'm keeping it simple. Every single meat on the platter is cooked to perfection. The lamb is tender and full of flavor, the chicken shish is juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the lula kebab is packed with spices and absolutely delicious. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the meats. They're all phenomenal. But the true star of Taci's Beyti, the thing that keeps me coming back over and over again, is their hummus. This is hands down the best hummus I have ever had in my life. It's homemade, creamy yet still has that slight texture from the chickpea skins, which I personally love. The flavor is rich, smooth, and unlike anything else. Every time I try hummus anywhere else, I find myself comparing it to this one--and nothing even comes close. Taci's Beyti is a timeless gem. I haven't come to Taci's in years until recently and the quality has remained the same if not became better. I attended for a private event and they were so generous! We were served every cold dip on the menu. Then a course of hot apps. Then entrees of shrimp, mixed meat, and branzino! Ending with fruits and desserts. There was this one shrimp dish that was my favorite for the mains served in a cast iron with mushrooms, cheese, and tomatoes. This food quality is 1000/10. Totally slipped off my south Brooklyn radar for some reason and is back on! The owner was present and checking on us throughout the event. Been here a few times over the years. Place has fancier interior so it's good for a casual meal or a night out. Good luck with street parking, or going around constant double packed cars upfront. It can get busy and that slows down service as they go at the same pace. Some waiters act like they don't care much , others are very attentive. Food is good, kebab & chops worth stopping by. Also like their salads and Lahmacun Findik/ Lahmacun. Once there was a confusion with the check on a busy day, we got charged for extra items that never arrived to our table and for some reason the waiter was not happy about us catching it. Adana kebab was nicely spiced. Chicken Adana was a bit dry. Kiymali pide was not flavorful, lacking moisture, and the thin bread was plain. Overall, this restaurant is good for serving average Turkish fare. The price was above average and for that I would not recommend or return unless you're local to the neighborhood and don't want to travel outside of the area. Came here today after pickleball, it came highly recommended by the two people I came with and it did not disappoint. I think this might have been my second or third time having Turkish food so I wasn't sure what to expect. The eggplant spread with their bread was delicious, the eggplant had a smoky taste and wasn't too salty. Salad was refreshing and delicious especially in the nyc summer and the portions are huge. These are definitely family sized portions the scallop and rice fed three people with left over! After eight years, I stopped by again, reminded of my previous review on Yelp. So much has changed for me in that time, but I'm thrilled to say their food is still consistently delicious! The service is superb, and the food remains amazing. The tenderness of the meats, the seasoning in the hummus, spicy eggplant, salad, and the hot bread are all exceptional. Their in-house white sauce is fantastic! While I still noticed a slight lag in service, it has definitely improved, even on a busy day with families celebrating graduations. We have not been here for a while, somehow, after COVID, we are not going out as much, but we came back last Sat to celebrate my husband's birthday with a small family dinner and as always, Taci's was top-notch. There are not too many places left which over time have remain steadily excellent for food and service. While the prices have risen, the portion sizes are very generous, so you can totally share a main between two people with hefty appetites. In fact, I shared my giant portion of karisik pide with everyone and then regretted it because that meant I had only 2 leftover pieces which were promptly eaten by my husband on Sunday. My kids are now grown, so they also appreciate good food and enjoyed chicken and lamb shwarma entries and my in-laws split the sword fish as they try to eat healthy in their old age. My husband and I dined at this restaurant with a friend about a month ago. It looked really good and a you can see the food looks good too. My favorites of the evening were the calamari, mint tea, and kunefe. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried. The tea was warm and comforting. The kunefe was delicious. The wait staff were friendly. The place was busy and we did wait for our food a bit. What I didn't like was that we were told that we were going to get pita for the hummus we ordered but it was never brought to our table. We asked 1-2 times and nothing. The kebab platters were decent. I'm giving only 3 stars because I felt that the bill that we paid was too much for the food. I realized that the tea I ordered was a large size. Sadly, shortly after raving about my last meal here, I ended up in the hospital the next evening with severe stomach pain and non-stop trips to the bathroom that lasted for 5 days. It was the worst case of norovirus I've ever experienced. Turns out both my cousins got sick as well. I shared a chicken kebab with one of them and the other had sliced lamb. I know I washed my hands in the bathroom properly before eating so this wasn't on me. Seems like the kitchen staff need to practice better hygiene before the food comes to the guests. First, there is a tablet at the entrance for wait list, UNNECESSARY!!!, we put our names and phone number, waiting outside, came back 25 mins after, out name was gone, nobody called us, had to wait another 15 mins to get a table. The staff is inattentive, it's not like it was used to be. The place was so filthy, cannot describe. The floors, bathrooms. At one point one of the staff came out from the bathroom, TP was all over the place, toilet is not flushed. Is this how you are leaving the bathroom to your customers? Staff is hanging around registers, busy talking, less attention to the tables! Plates are piled up everywhere. This long standing place has been serving Brooklyn with amazing and authentic Turkish food for years. I used to come at least once a year with my family. Inside there are brick walls with two dining rooms full of local families that come for lunch or dinner. The quality and taste of each dish is fantastic. We have the classics we love to order and then some new things such as the cacik and stuffed grape leaves. Everything is very fresh and tasty. This place never disappoints and we have been coming over ten years! The waitstaff are super helpful and recommended us some great desserts and coffees. I don't know if this place is traditional Turkish cuisine...I was here with a friend for a dinner on a week night. The grape leaves appetizer was terrible. The other app we got was also disappointing to the degree I blocked out what it was we ordered. The main course was a Lamb adana...it came on a bed of what looks like WHITE bread, smothered in yogurt with a few pieces of meat. The place was crowded. Seems like it is popular. I always will recommend Tacis over any Turkish restaurant in Brooklyn. We placed an order for 18 plates of food today for staff and the food was ready in less than an hour (it was lunch time) and tasted amazing as always. The young man was very helpful and even put in a few tasty baklava desserts that were also fresh! I didn't even see him put it in the bag so it was a very sweet surprise. More than half the people never had Turkish food and they loved it, and one person said "Wow I always eat Turkish on Emmons and this is SO MUCH BETTER".... We have been going to this resturant for years, Food delicious Swarma/ gyro meat overly salty. Service hands down the worst I have ever encountered, asked for water, server delivered bottle water opened it and poured it into glasses, lukewarm, We were charged $6 for it. No one at the table asked for bottled water just water. I looked around all other tables had cold water in glasses from a stainless steel pitcher. Why we received bottled water I do not know. So beware. We received 3 entries at our table that were wrong, the waitress proceeded to tell us with her attitude that I and the other two people ordered wrong. Oh quite contraire. For my money, the best Turkish food in NYC and has been for a long time. Usually get a shepherd's salad and a few appetizers. Their eggplant in spicy tomato sauce is one of the best things I've ever eaten of any cuisine. Highly recommended. read more

4.5/5 I have to try more items from the menu but just from one dish and I'm already hooked! It does seem to be a little expensive at first since entrees start at $17.25 but it's soooo worth because the (takeout) portion was huge! It was more than enough to feed two hungry people, plus a little extra for the next day. Doner Kebab ($17.25): perfectly seasoned and juicy lamb slices with just a bit of fat per bite. Really clean tasting - it doesn't taste super greasy or fatty like it's been doused in oil. Rice, on the other hand, has definitely been cooked in a butter bath, so while it's delicious, it's definitely not for the faint-hearted haha. There's about two layers of meat, and a generous serving of rice. Dare I say there was probably more meat than rice? :O I knowww. White sauce is excellent as well but they only give one tiny sauce container for a heaping entree so it's definitely not enough New favorite in the area for sure!
