This is my second time at this place and let me tell you it was an incredible experience. I came here on the last night of Ramadan and then yesterday night one hour before they close but the customer service was still top notch. We were given a nice clean table that four people could sit on. We ordered the Mixed Grill that cost $103 but according to the menu it's good for three people. It had all the items on the menu (lamb, beef, chicken, fish, sausages etc). We got fresh garden salad, well made white rice and the grill was delicious. It was so good that we ate half of it and half of it we had to take it home. The bill was very pricey around $155 but adding the ambiance, customer service, food and clean bathrooms makes this place worth it. It's great for families and hang out with friends. Was craving for some yummy grilled Uzbek cuisine and so I came here to order their samsa and grilled kababs and I must say it was delicious. The samsa was filled with delicious cubes of lams and it was flavorful. They have a generous portion of tomato dressing on the side to dip my samsa into and that generated a nice balance. As for my grilled kabab, it had a nice portion of fat and meat and it was grilled to perfection. It was seasoned nicely and with the added paper thinly sliced onion, it just added a wonderful texture to my kabab. I also love that they have a charcoal grill inside the restaurant. It's not gas grill so the flavor of the charcoal is all captured. Overall, I was delighted to try them out and looking forward to going back to try other new things. read more

I've never had uzbeki food but shashlik served up some tasty kebabs and breads! All the kebabs were cooked fresh to order! We ordered a few things to share: Greek salad - huge chunks of feta on a fresh salad, honestly a necessity with this meal Tandoor bread - just ok, thick bread and not what I was expecting samsa - buttery bread and tasty filling with chunks of beef and onion - i would come back just for this! manti - huge juicy dumplings served with sour cream Lula kebab - ground meat kebab, ok beef rolls - probably my favorite kebab, great texture lamb ribs - super flavorful and perfectly salted and crispy The service and ambiance were quite bare bones. The servers didn't linger for very long which is nice. The restaurant is quite large and plain, I wouldn't recommend coming on a hot summer day like I did because the grill is in the center of the restaurant and theres no AC, just a couple fans with the doors open. Great food and great first experience with Uzbekistan food. You must order a samsa, but I'll probably just pick up next time. read more

Tge food here is phenomenal. It's do well done and flavorful, you can't go wrong with anything you order. The samsa was stuffed with pieces of meat, not minced meat. The pastry was flaky and buttery. The Manti was the best I've ever had. They held together and were stuffed not overstuffed and came with a yoghurt-sour cream sauce. The lagman soup was a treat. It was comforting and very flavourful. It had lamb pieces in it, big pieces that were soft. Noodles also came in the soup. They had softened but the whole dish was delicious. The neat skewers.... so the lulu kebab. It was good, similar to a kofta but a bit salty and shaped too thick. The lamb and beef were delicious. At times melt in your mouth and some pieces were chewy. I loved everything here. Service was efficient and extremely friendly. The wait staff is very polite. It's a simple restaurant but very clean so there are no notable decorations in the restaurant. The only downside to this place is how far it is from Queens. Mera's Tip: order everything. read more

i think this place is ok. context- i have an east asian palette and the samsa is good to me and fair priced. i've had lamb kabob and chicken kabob here. the lamb kabob is just ok and can have more flavor. the chicken kabob wasn't that good. my favorite is definitely the samsa. i used to go to caravan next door before all these other uzbekistan places opened up. i like that when you eat here they are consistent with their pricing and don't add weird things onto your bill like "service charge". read more

This a delivery review but based on delivery I will not be visiting the brick and mortar location. Wow this food is disgusting and nearly inedible. I noticed the decent reviews so thought I would give this a try. So this is a typical Uzbek kabab joint. Now if you are doing kebabs you would think the focus would be on the meat. The meat is low quality and no heart is put into making it tasty. The manti is flat and flavorless with gross bulky meat. The garden salad was wilted and sad. The layman was ok. It had tender meat but the noodles didn't seem authentic or homemade. And a real let down was the mixed kababs. I ordered lamb, liver, chicken and beef rolls...look at the photo, do you see any beef roll? Also, the liver wasn't clean and had that unclean offal flavor. The rest was meh. Second time I wanted to give it a chance that's when I received plate full of molded tomatoes. The only thing I recommend here is the skewers, but now I'm just skeptical. We ordered from Shashlik once before, and the food was OK, but last night (3-24) t we ordered chicken and lamb. Both were so flavorless -- literally, the chicken had NO taste! -- except that both tasted off, i.e. not fresh -- that, after a good faith effort, we simply could not eat it. Also, we ordered for delivery and they said it would take 40 minutes -- it took nearly and hour and a half to get it, and then only after calling two more times. Went here for dinner with my husband. Food was excellent, service was warm and friendly and the place is new and spotless. We started with a simple fresh salad and then ordered 8 Kebobs of all varieties. The meat was tender and juicy with perfect amount of seasoning. The bread was fresh and hot. I like trying out new places and often it's good but this place is awful. The server cleaned the table and gathered the crumbs in his hands. He had no gloves or masks on. The tables were all next to each other, there was no social distancing taking place. I found a table that was a bit isolated and sat there. When I asked the server about the food he wasn't very knowledgeable and asked me if I knew the prices of the food. They don't deserve one star. Had the worst experience with them with delivery on Ave P location. Placed my order online. I live 3 mins away from them. Total of my order was 100$ with tips. 100$ only for 3 soups 1 order of shashlik 1 manti and 2 breads. Really????? Called them after 45 mins of wait to check on my order, guy on the phone said that he was packing my order. But ended up receiving my order in 30 mins regardless living so close to them. On top of everything they forgot to put order of breads, missing one soup, and they replaced one order of soup with completely different soup, that we never even ordered!! I called them, guy on the phone didn't even apologize he said okay I'll send it to you. And guess what? They never sent anything!!! I couldn't eat that night coz my roommates were hangry and pissed at me for choosing this crappy place. My roommates didn't like soups and shashlik, the only edible item was manti. Eventually I didn't even call them for refund or ask about what happened to my missing items. Instead I decided to never order from them ever again!!!!!!!
