    Manti Dumplings

I've never had uzbeki food but shashlik served up some tasty kebabs and breads! All the kebabs were cooked fresh to order! We ordered a few things to share: Greek salad - huge chunks of feta on a fresh salad, honestly a necessity with this meal Tandoor bread - just ok, thick bread and not what I was expecting samsa - buttery bread and tasty filling with chunks of beef and onion - i would come back just for this! manti - huge juicy dumplings served with sour cream Lula kebab - ground meat kebab, ok beef rolls - probably my favorite kebab, great texture lamb ribs - super flavorful and perfectly salted and crispy The service and ambiance were quite bare bones. The servers didn't linger for very long which is nice. The restaurant is quite large and plain, I wouldn't recommend coming on a hot summer day like I did because the grill is in the center of the restaurant and theres no AC, just a couple fans with the doors open. Great food and great first experience with Uzbekistan food. You must order a samsa, but I'll probably just pick up next time.

Tge food here is phenomenal. It's do well done and flavorful, you can't go wrong with anything you order. The samsa was stuffed with pieces of meat, not minced meat. The pastry was flaky and buttery. The Manti was the best I've ever had. They held together and were stuffed not overstuffed and came with a yoghurt-sour cream sauce. The lagman soup was a treat. It was comforting and very flavourful. It had lamb pieces in it, big pieces that were soft. Noodles also came in the soup. They had softened but the whole dish was delicious. The neat skewers.... so the lulu kebab. It was good, similar to a kofta but a bit salty and shaped too thick. The lamb and beef were delicious. At times melt in your mouth and some pieces were chewy. I loved everything here. Service was efficient and extremely friendly. The wait staff is very polite. It's a simple restaurant but very clean so there are no notable decorations in the restaurant. The only downside to this place is how far it is from Queens. Mera's Tip: order everything.

This a delivery review but based on delivery I will not be visiting the brick and mortar location. Wow this food is disgusting and nearly inedible. I noticed the decent reviews so thought I would give this a try. So this is a typical Uzbek kabab joint. Now if you are doing kebabs you would think the focus would be on the meat. The meat is low quality and no heart is put into making it tasty. The manti is flat and flavorless with gross bulky meat. The garden salad was wilted and sad. The layman was ok. It had tender meat but the noodles didn't seem authentic or homemade. And a real let down was the mixed kababs. I ordered lamb, liver, chicken and beef rolls...look at the photo, do you see any beef roll? Also, the liver wasn't clean and had that unclean offal flavor. The rest was meh. Anyway I will not try again.

Tomatoes covered in mold from the fresh Garden Salad

First time I had salad here, poor presentation, just some red onions on top of cucumbers, a few tomatoes and some leaves. Second time I wanted to give it a chance that's when I received plate full of molded tomatoes. The only thing I recommend here is the skewers, but now I'm just skeptical. Come here being warned of poor service.

The best shish kebabs in the city. Great service. Good pr

Decent take out place with delicious tandoori samsa…read more In March 2025 I stopped by Tandir Rokhat to buy some food for home and to taste a few items for review. The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so. Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab. Food ordered Samsa Tandoori - delicious! Tasted great and fresh, plenty of meat and flavor. Belyash - it was pretty good. I wish it was made right on order rather than reheated but it was still good. Manti - excellent! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge! Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor. Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - very good, flavorful, but somewhat over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent. Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this. Kimchi Salad - ok Carrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor. Eggplant Salad - ok. This just a mix of roasted eggplants with the "carrot salad" + few roasted peppers. Baklava - perfect! Fresh, soft, how it should be! Fatir with Butter - good!

For our main dishes, we had the traditional Uzbek plov with lamb and the Farida ground beef roll with tomato. We ordered the mini umka puffs (three beef and two cheese), and they were very oily and soggy on the bottom. The beef filling was mostly salt and pepper with no real depth of flavor, plus lots of fat and gristle. The cheburek was almost the exact same experience -- same filling, same sauce, and again not very tasty. The Uzbek plov was also very, very oily. The meat in that dish was better than the others, but overall it still lacked flavor. The steak manti was honestly close to inedible. It tasted bad, very fatty, and what initially seemed like juicy filling inside turned out to just be condensation water. The Kazan kebab was especially disappointing because the picture on their website looks incredible. In reality, it looked nothing like the photos -- the meat was basically boiled, extremely fatty, and pretty unpleasant. Thankfully, the tender beef short ribs were the best thing we ordered. The meat actually had flavor, and the potatoes were good. The lemonade was also very good. I went in expecting Uzbek food to be less heavily spiced than other cuisines, which is completely fine, but this was beyond that -- the food just felt low quality and poorly executed. For four people, with only one lemonade and no alcoholic drinks, the bill came to about $260, which felt insanely expensive for the quality we received. The atmosphere was nice, but the basement dining area was also extremely hot and uncomfortable. Overall, this place did not live up to the hype. Check the pictures for the dishes we ordered.

I was brought here by my friend (and her family) as she recommended the place, and she came pretty often. I would say that my friend sometimes has interesting taste, but so far her recommendations have been really solid. Since my friend brought me here, I just took whatever she recommended, as she took command of all ordering. This was great for me, since I opened the menu and was like... wow, I don't even know what is good. So I just sat back and *attempted* to listen to what was going on. We ended up getting hot tea with lemon, beef skirt kebab, lamb kebab, samsa, cheburek with meat, and a few other things I'm not quite sure about. She just ordered, and honestly, I just ate everything she threw at me. The samsas were delicious! They were super flaky, and the meat was well seasoned and super juicy. The samsa were also quite hefty, they fill you up if you eat too many. It reminded me of the homemade ones my friend used to give me. Next up, the cheburek with meat. This was a first for me, and my friend said it was a must get. She was completely right... we ended up getting a 2nd order of this. It was super light, compared to everything else we ordered, as it is only filled with a bit of meat. The dough is fried to perfection, it was a bit crispy, soft, and didn't feel oily. It came with what I assume is a tomato sauce, which pairs well with it. We also got a few of the beef and lamb kebabs, and they were also delicious. The beef tasted better than the lamb, but my friend says that is just depends on the day. So I guess it depends on who is cooking that day? But the beef was super juicy, and it was well seasoned. The lamb was also good, but it just wasn't as yummy as the beef skirt. Overall, I really like everything here and I look forward to my next trip back to NY.

I hate when people are trying to do their jobs and someone sabotages them. Apparently it's not the 1st time. And hungry people at home are also getting bad service and long wait. Overall, it put stress on everyone. Ruined many people's evening. I regret not leaving earlier and gone somewhere else. I feel like they were giving good service and respect to their countrymen in the restaurant, but not to people of other nationalities and races. Do they deliberately sabotage food and timing because they don't want us to return?! Are they deliberately delaying the delivery orders to get delivery guy to lose his job? It' seems to be happening a lot from the Uzbek halal restaurants. Too much of a coincidence. Will not recommend them to anyone. I wonder if the owner cares about losses in revenues or he's a bigot. Very disappointing.
