    Manti Dumplings

I've never had uzbeki food but shashlik served up some tasty kebabs and breads! All the kebabs were cooked fresh to order! We ordered a few things to share: Greek salad - huge chunks of feta on a fresh salad, honestly a necessity with this meal Tandoor bread - just ok, thick bread and not what I was expecting samsa - buttery bread and tasty filling with chunks of beef and onion - i would come back just for this! manti - huge juicy dumplings served with sour cream Lula kebab - ground meat kebab, ok beef rolls - probably my favorite kebab, great texture lamb ribs - super flavorful and perfectly salted and crispy The service and ambiance were quite bare bones. The servers didn't linger for very long which is nice. The restaurant is quite large and plain, I wouldn't recommend coming on a hot summer day like I did because the grill is in the center of the restaurant and theres no AC, just a couple fans with the doors open. Great food and great first experience with Uzbekistan food. You must order a samsa, but I'll probably just pick up next time.

Tge food here is phenomenal. It's do well done and flavorful, you can't go wrong with anything you order. The samsa was stuffed with pieces of meat, not minced meat. The pastry was flaky and buttery. The Manti was the best I've ever had. They held together and were stuffed not overstuffed and came with a yoghurt-sour cream sauce. The lagman soup was a treat. It was comforting and very flavourful. It had lamb pieces in it, big pieces that were soft. Noodles also came in the soup. They had softened but the whole dish was delicious. The neat skewers.... so the lulu kebab. It was good, similar to a kofta but a bit salty and shaped too thick. The lamb and beef were delicious. At times melt in your mouth and some pieces were chewy. I loved everything here. Service was efficient and extremely friendly. The wait staff is very polite. It's a simple restaurant but very clean so there are no notable decorations in the restaurant. The only downside to this place is how far it is from Queens. Mera's Tip: order everything.

This a delivery review but based on delivery I will not be visiting the brick and mortar location. Wow this food is disgusting and nearly inedible. I noticed the decent reviews so thought I would give this a try. So this is a typical Uzbek kabab joint. Now if you are doing kebabs you would think the focus would be on the meat. The meat is low quality and no heart is put into making it tasty. The manti is flat and flavorless with gross bulky meat. The garden salad was wilted and sad. The layman was ok. It had tender meat but the noodles didn't seem authentic or homemade. And a real let down was the mixed kababs. I ordered lamb, liver, chicken and beef rolls...look at the photo, do you see any beef roll? Also, the liver wasn't clean and had that unclean offal flavor. The rest was meh. Anyway I will not try again.

Tomatoes covered in mold from the fresh Garden Salad

First time I had salad here, poor presentation, just some red onions on top of cucumbers, a few tomatoes and some leaves. Second time I wanted to give it a chance that's when I received plate full of molded tomatoes. The only thing I recommend here is the skewers, but now I'm just skeptical. Come here being warned of poor service.

The best shish kebabs in the city. Great service. Good pr

The only thing that betrays the hidden nature of Dunya Kabab House is the brilliant red sign. Upon closer inspection, you can see a warm dining area, glass partition to see "where the magic happens" in the kitchen behind, and the many articles plastered showing their unique take on Afghani food. I bookmarked the spot to come back to, and within the week, I came back and ordered takeout for the dish most fellow reviewers raved about -- the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao. When I got home and opened the bag, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small side salad and the dish I recognised from a visit to another nearby restaurant specialising in Uzbeki food -- the plov! The rice was really well seasoned and the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was really flavourful and well balanced, even for take-out. Unlike the other place, this plov was still sweet without being cloyingly so. I had such good impression that I'm excited to return in the future and try their other dishes, since I heard *everything* Dunya Kebab House does is impeccable.

Good restaurant to come in with the family but also great for take out, and the quality and consistency is always top notch. The mante is seasoned so well and it's always fresh to order and one of my favorite dishes of all time. The food is very palatable as it's not spicy and you get a great value for your money. It's also halal and a great option in the area or if you're looking to explore and try some classic afghan food!

It is served with rice and I found it to be a lighter than its Turkish equivalent. It was served with rice. We also ordered Turkish bread that was served warm. I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.
