Came here for a quick dinner on a weekday. Seated right away. Babaganoush was to my liking flavorful - yet not too garlicky. The chicken shawarma platter was outrageous! So good. For the portions and price def a good spot to come. They also gave us a complimentary almond pudding!

Wow - I give 5 stars. Hidden Gem Alert for sure. lol. This is my second time eating food from here. The first time I picked it up in person and it was so clean and nice inside. Items to try: The falafel is fresh and green inside soft and so nice. Definitely my favorite. The chicken Kebob sandwich is everything highly recommend. The Turkish bread is super fresh and soft. The hummus is perfection. The lamb kebob was also fire. Great quality meat. All the flavors are amazing and this place makes me love Turkish food even more than I already did if that was even possible. Thank you and please do not change 1 single thing. Will be back for sure!

Lamb Adana

Service definitely takes a while but the food was really good. I had the lamb Adana with the Turkish bread & hummus - a bit pricy but I highly recommend!

Before you come here, consider the fact the salad comes very onion forward. I did not know this and paid the price, as the food later ran through me like the nearby F train passing over Neptune Avenue en route to Manhattan or Stillwell Ave. The Mixed Grill is truly what any person new to this restaurant should try when they come in. It is a great mix of a lot of meats they offer. The entree is $32 and comes with bread, rice, and a salad. All the meats taste fresh and delicious though some of the meat could use a little more time being cooked. I get it though. This is not meat you overcook. If you do, it will taste tough, rubbery, and dry. The service was friendly and the food does come out quick. I would just be mindful of what to get next time so to not have a repeat performance.

They did not honor the price stated on the menu . The price was different on the bill then what the menu showed.

I went here again on August 4th. The food was once again overly salty. The sever was slow with the place being empty. My bill price was different from what the menu had showed. When I asked the server to adjust the bill to the price on the menu , He refused. I guess they charge what they want not what the menu shows. As far as ambiance it's a clean establishment.

We stopped by to have lunch inside but they do not have a/c ( no a/c, when it's 80 degrees outside ...) so we've ordered take out. The food was good , big portions , meat was juicy, We only did not like Shepherd salad because it had mostly tomatoes that were chopped in big pieces, and a little amount of cucumbers The service was not Pleasant. Hey , we are paying for the food you are not giving this for free , talk nice to the customers .

I'm not a fan of Turkish food but damn Sahara is good. Is this the same Sahara that used to be on Coney??? Because that was a spot too. I digress. Ordered takeout and the food was great. Shepherd salad was massive and fresh. Hummus was really good, as was the liver and kebabs. HUGE shout out to their bread. Bomb.

It's not as big as the original Sahara was but this little place could cook. Try their appetizers.

Food is pretty good but it takes way to long to pop in for lunch. Even for a Gyro pita, you can wait 15 minutes.

It is definitely one of my top 5 sandwiches in NYC. The sandwich doesn't look anything special, but when you eat it you will be amazed! There was so much different delicious flavors at every bite: savory, sweet, spicy, tangy. It was a party in my mouth! I make happy sounds whenever I eat delicious foods & I was making too much of that. I also kept saying "jesus christ this is one delicious sandwich"! The cool thing is that u can tell them how to season the sandwich. I asked for the red pepper tomato concoction, pesto, basil, mayo, black pepper, frated parmesan cheese, white vinegar, balsamic glaze. That combo seasoning made that sandwich even more delicious! I have passed by this shop many times & I regret not trying it earlier. I can't wait to try their other sandwiches. I highly highly recommend this shop!

I ordered The Godfather and a hot roast beef sandwich (forgot the name). The Godfather wasn't bad but nothing special about it. The roast beef sandwich was really bland, this could just be a normal thing because I've had other roast beef where it's also bland. If I ever make it back here again I'd love to try their hot foods instead of another sandwich.

I've eaten MANY Italian heroes all over northern NY & NYC and this has to be the best Ive ever had. This place is well established in the local community and I am sure someone has done a video or segment on TV about this place. The amount of food on a sandwich and the quality of their food is impeccable. No heroes loaded up with tomato and lettuce. Just plenty of the "good stuff". Don't give the prices a 2nd glance as these sandwiches have to weight 4-5 lbs each and a full ( 10"?) hero is plenty for 2 very hungry people. They have over 150 Signature sandwiches named after ( mostly) Italian celebrities. ( Fran Sinatra, Yogi Berra, Sophia Loren, etc) I was very satisfied with these 2: ---#119 EDDIE ARCARDO "Try This Thoroughbred"-- Chicken cutlet, salami, ham, olive oil, basil mix, LIONI FRESH MOZZARELLA, Sun-dried tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar ----#P1 THE ROSANNA SCOTTO "You'll Have A Good Day With This One" Ham, Salami, Pepperoni, Soppressata, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers OMG! so loaded, so fresh, amazing bread. The subs are always packed with meat and fresh ingredients; the bread is delicious. Their shop also sells traditional Italian breads ($1.50 for an Italian loaf), sides, desserts, and groceries. They also do catering and long subs for parties and events. The number of choices of subs can be overwhelming! Service: Service was average, nothing bad but nothing great either. Ambiance: There is a small table that seats about 6 people in the shop if you want to eat there. The sub shop/counter is in the back, and the front is a small grocery store with Italian products. Overall, I would recommend this sandwich spot!

My experience at this establishment was mixed, and it started with confusion before I even placed…read morean order. The cashier informed me that I could not order through her, yet there was no visible signage indicating where customers were supposed to order. For a business operating in a busy beach environment, clear direction and customer flow are essential, and that aspect was noticeably lacking. The seating situation was equally puzzling. After receiving my food, I noticed many people occupying the tables while eating food from completely different establishments. Throughout my visit, groups carrying various meals from around the beach sat freely without being informed otherwise. This gave the impression that the seating area functions more as a public beach dining space than as seating reserved for paying customers. Management may want to evaluate this arrangement, as it can diminish the experience for patrons who purchased food from the restaurant. As for the food itself, the sandwich was undeniably large and offered a generous portion for the price. However, much of the value seemed tied to its size rather than its flavor. The chicken breast was substantial but lacked seasoning and depth of taste. The agua de horchata was even more disappointing, with a flavor that tasted artificial and more reminiscent of a powdered mix than a traditional homemade recipe. Overall, this is not a place that stands out for its atmosphere, food quality, or customer experience. While the portions are impressive, the flavors fail to match the presentation, leaving the impression that you're primarily paying for quantity rather than quality. With improvements to customer service, clearer organization, and more attention to flavor, the experience could be significantly better in the future. Rating: 3/5 stars. Decent portions, but the overall experience and food quality leave plenty of room for improvement.
