I ordered a product from this company at the beginning of May. The website said that the item was in stock, after my purchase, I received an email saying that the item was not in stock and had been discontinued. I emailed the company a few weeks later and received an email saying to follow up if I didn't receive the item in 24-48 hours. I did not receive the item. I sent two more emails requesting that my order be canceled over the next several weeks and received no response. The customer service at this company is absolutely abysmal. I have filed a complaint against the company with the better business bureau. I would absolutely never transact with this company again. Don't take my word for it, look up other reviews before attempting to make a purchase from this company, then save yourself the headache and take your business to one of the many infinitely better run businesses available. read more

Order an new fluke setup both rod and reel, they ship out the reel on a timely matter but was orginally sent to the wrong address(IDK if that the carrier's fault or theirs but I did end up receiving the reel). The pole however I have received no word on whe it will ship I have reached out to numerous people by phone( Extremely long wait times like over a hour waiting for someone to answer the phone to NO prevail), first regarding the lost reel and now about the situation with when the rod will ship. It Doesn't seem like anyone answers the phone over there. I have shop in their store many times before but had to order online as the storeforont has been closed, being a business owner myself I like to shop local but the lack of communication from this company and what I have read online about them I will think twice about buying from them again. read more

The store it self is one of the best fishing stores I have been to. The place is huge and they have so much stuff. It is unbelievable, I wish it was closer to my house. I have only been able to get out there a few times, when I am in the area I definitely make a point to stop by. Five stars for the in store location. The negative part of the review and the reason for the low stars is the online store is a mess. I don't know if it is a warehouse issue or the staff is more worried about the actual in store location. But I have placed about 5 orders from them in the past and out of the 5, 3 of them were out of stock when the site said in stock. I don't mine things being on back order but at least let me know before the order. And to top it off they don't even send out an email to let you know the item is on backorder. The order look up syestem always says pending even after I receive an item so it is no help. I stopped ordering from them for a while but last week I was searching for an item for a trip this weekend and they had the best price and it said "in stock" and "leaves warehouse in 1-2 days". I decided to give them another chance. So I ordered a few things and I received a shipping email the same day. Saying the order has been split up. Part is shipping now but the other items will ship soon. So I got the one box the next day, which is great speed. After a few days I still have no email about the second part of my shipment. I keep checking and the order still says pending, along with one of my past orders which I received last season, like really that is still pending i have had the item for months? So after waiting through the weekend I called today and they said the items are on backorder. I asked why the had not let me know by email or a phone call, and he said "we don't do that here sorry." Are you kidding me? Then I asked why they charged my credit card for the whole order if it all wasn't shipped and he said "I don't know they usually don't, but you can call back tomorrow to speak to the person that handles that stuff" Then I asked for a time frame because I wanted the stuff for the weekend and he said "I don't know but probably soon it will be in stock" So now out of 6 orders 4 of them were on backorder with no notice, when they were supposedly in stock and ready to ship in 1-2 days. And with nothing to let me know about it until I called. I will not order online again from this place. The only way I will buy anything else is if I am in person with the product in my hands first. read more

I had a small order of fishing lures that were listed in stock or available by direct shipment from their supplier. I received 2/3rds of the order and was informed that the others were on back order and would be sent within 30 days or canceled. I called 7 days later and they had some in their store. But did not send them. I sent a email 14 days later and they showed them available to order .In 30 days the send a email asking if I received my order. They do not take care of back orders if they are small. I will find another retailer for all my future orders. read more

I have ordered through this company multiple times and have had nothing but issues. Paid for express 2-day shipping, they shipped it standard shipping so the item did not arrive on time and had to be cancelled. Had to go through the process to get my money back for express shipping. Twice the items i purchased were listed in stock only to find out that they were back ordered days later. Ordered specific lure colors only to be shipped other colors cause the one i ordered was not in stock. Customer service and shipping departments need to be fired. I will never shop here again and will passionately argue why no one should ever order from here. read more

Shopping online was not a good experience. Only one package arrived by the guaranteed shipping time even though everything I ordered was in stock. It took the second half of my package to show up 10 days later. I called several times and left voice messages, but I never received a response. 10 days later the second half of my order arrived. I spent almost $700 when I could have gone to a local store and got everything I needed at a comparable price. Here's the real kicker - their store is in NJ-where I live. Ordered 4 lures, some swivels and split rings on February 20. I got 2 notices on February 21 with shipment tracking information on 2 boxes, for some reason they packed 3 lures in one box and 1 lure, swivels and split rings in another box. I received 1 package, it has the 3 lures. Currently, I'm missing the second package of 1 lure, swivels and split rings, the tracking shows "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item" on February 21. I called TackeDirect on the 10th business day, March 5th and was told that USPS has the package and to give it till March 10th and call back. Called back on March 10 and was given the same song and dance, TackleDirect says it shipped both packages and USPS is at fault for not scanning it. USPS says no, TackleDirect only filled out shipping info and that USPS is waiting on TackleDirect to ship the item. So I'm stuck in the middle of they said, we said BS. Poor customer service on behalf of both but I will not purchase again from TackleDirect, will tell all my friends of my poor experience and I suggest if you read this review, think twice before using TackleDirect. read more

I exclusively shop online for all my fishing needs for my entire family and I am so happy to find TackleDirect. Prices are very competitive, but the most important thing is their customer service. They are so helpful and recently Kevin helps me in so many ways that makes me feel like I have to be a customer for life! We love fishing but as beginners, we have so many questions and do not know where to start. Kevin and John are the most helpful among all the fishing tackle sites that I came across. Confused...this was with out a doubt the worst on line and customer service experience I have had. So first is the good. I ordered a ton of new gear for my upcoming trip. I live near philly and I got most of my order the next day. That is the two stars. Unfortunately I found that 3 or the items I needed were on back order. No problem. Well this is where it gets really frustrating. My order was on 6/28 I did not get any info about when the other three items would be shipped and I was now 5 days from my trip. So I called, holy crap what is going on? You are not able to talk to an actual person. When you are on hold they give you the option to leave your phone number and they will call you in the order it was received. I opted to stay on the phone. After a half hour I was cut off and I was sent to voicemail. Wow I will never get that half hour back. Spent a few hours on hold and you start to think that you will never get your items/money back. Finally I left my number on the service and I got a call back 2 days later. At that point I was canceling my 3 items because I could buy them locally. I asked if I was ever going to be sent my back order stuff and the sales person did not have an answer for that. The worst part is the 3 items on back order I could have bought at dicks sporting goods. My mistake was trying to order multiple items from an online vendor that has a great looking web site with a lot of inventory so it seems. I will never purchase anything from them again. read more

the only reason this is gets one star is because there isn't a zero setting. on hold for 25 mins finally decided to use the 'leave your number and we'll call you back and you won't lose your place in line. 3 hours later no call back, on hold for 38 mins again no answer. tried live chat but no one available so could leave a message for them to call you back, here we are 22 hours later and no call. The new Tackle Direct store is very nice. Much larger than the old store in OC however with large does not mean good service. Being from out of state I visited while in town to view some rods then order to be shipped to my home as I could not carry on the flight. On my store visit it took more time than I had allowed for them to locate some of the rods but I did see two of three I wanted to check out The following day I called to order using the free shipping and I had a $10 online coupon to use. First problem - could only use one coupon. Ok, so I went for the free shipping with an order over $149. Nope, since not all three of the rods were in the store inventory that didn't fly. Apparently they all have to be IN the store for free shipping. Called the store, no help there so, no order from Tackle Direct for me. Wasted my time. I'll fly home and use a tackle shop more local to me. read more

Great selection and great service. Prices are very competitive and if you are a fisherman of any age or level you will definitely be like a kid in a candy store.
