I understand I came at a late time but my girlfriend was tired and hungry, and so was her friend. Recently opened Taco Bell that has the newer, modern decor which is welcoming. Seating and decor seem less fast-food and a little more upscale. The good: Food is received promptly when they aren't very busy. Received food within 2 minutes at late lunch hour. The employees were extremely nice and went out of their way to make sure the experience was great - surprising for any fast food restaurant. Inside of restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. The bad: Food wasn't served hot enough - surprising since it was served somewhat quickly. Everything I ordered seemed like they skimped on the quantity of sauces and ingredients. My chili cheese burrito had hardly any chili in it, and I remember the portion being over 2x just a few years ago. The menu here is too busy with too many pictures and not enough text, making it hard to pick things out - I liked the old-school menu a lot better (I'm old, get off my lawn). Specials are not displayed on main menu, elsewhere inside restaurant, or mentioned by employees in store. I was between a 3 and 4 rating, but I just really wasn't impressed with the temperature, quantity, or quality of food I received. Despite all 4 of our previous visits being in accurate, missing items, shells tasting burnt and/or doused in some kind of chemical, against my better judgement I gave them one more try tonight. We will not return. I will say that no items were missing, they did ask, and include sauce, and the food was hot. However, I said at LEAST 4 times, "No sour cream on anything." I would prefer to give MINUS stars. Stopped for lunch with a friend. 4 staff are working, one looked like a manager. 3 of them went out to smoke right next to the entrance! Meanwhile every table in the place was filthy. The man on the register was looney. Too worried about getting to his second job, and telling me about it. Manager had no sense of urgency in getting the tables wiped off. And to top it all off, some derelict in the dining room was running customers out "chatting" with everyone. He settled on us, my friend tried to be kind but I had had it. Dirty surroundings, food poorly constructed, sub standard employees, and someone who should have been escorted out! Let's start by saying that this restaurant is an absolute joke. First sat in drive thru for 10 minutes while car in front of us was given our food. They proceed to tell us to pull in front so they can correct the issue and bring food out to us. After 25 minutes of waiting, while mind you 8 cars came and went through drive thru, my wife had to physically walk in and was then given our order. When she gets it to car half of it was cold and things were missing. They ALWAYS skimp on the meat, Order a double crunchwrap, it is served as a single. Order a Double Chalupa, enough meat for a regular soft taco. Double Steak Nacho's. Haha, 3 pieces of steak and the crumbs of whatever chips they have. This tells me a couple things, 1 Food cost is a huge issue here,2 the GM can't order to save her life, 3 the employees are improperly trained. When I called I spoke to the woman who prepared it, she recalled making it and admitted that it was made with bottom of the bag. Got a carry out on June 4, 2018 a 11:30am of 3 standard crispy tacos with ground beef. They had a "chemical" taste, not like spoiled beef. Like a dummy, the hunger and hectic schedule prevailed, so I ate them. Within 1/2 hour had upset stomach and within 1 hour very sick. By 9:30 pm was finally able to function well enough to call. Spoke with a supervisor and after explaining my ordeal she stated she was going to call her manager as multiple people complained about same thing, I left my name and number. As of Saturday May 9, I have never heard from store manager. That was my 3rd visit to the Alexandria, KY store and last. None of the items I've eaten there have the "normal" Taco Bell flavor.
