We started off with the queso and I have to say it is now my favorite queso I've had in the Tristate area It's not your typical queso that comes out runny. Frida's queso comes out in a mini skillet and is thick reminding me of when we lived in El Paso and had authentic Mexican food. The chips were amaziiiing too I got a shrimp taco and fish taco as my main and loved the combo of Chimichurri and pineapple salsa on the shrimp one. The fish taco was loaded with aioli which was a bit much so I couldn't really taste the fish or other toppings. I will definitely be back to try more tacos and eat my weight in queso!

My brother and I each got three items from the Vegetarian pick-three menu and my nephew ordered from the kids' menu. Everyone was happy with their food, and the draft beers tasted excellent as well. Our server, Maya, was really helpful with the menus and checked in on us often. Her friendliness and fun conversation added to an already great time. Our stop into Covington Friday evening was a highlight of my trip to Kentucky. And I like that Agave allows dogs; there was a really cute beagle-and-husky at the table next ours.

This was fine because the bartender was also our server. She was super sweet and attentive. She also helped us figure out what to order. She mentioned their steak is fantastic. We followed her direction and ordered steak like it was the only thing on the menu. The place is super cute. We started with an order of steak nachos. OMG... this is a meal for the whole table. It was super delicious. Oh... you can have any protein you'd like, but of course we ordered steak. There were a fair number of jalapeños in the mix, but they were nowhere near overly spicy. If you are here for the first time with a group of four or less, you may want to think twice before ordering the nachos because it is a LOT of food. As yummy as it was, it was filling and made eating the rest of our meals a bit of a challenge. Three folks went for one of the lunch specials, which are 1. Burrito (protein of choice) with a small serving of chips and salsa and 2. Two tacos (choice of protein, Birria not included) w/ rice. All three ordered the burrito. I believe everyone got steak. Most could only eat one half. Mark was talking about his burrito hours later. I love Birria and like to try it wherever it is available. I ordered Birria tacos (order of 3). I struggled to eat all three, but I succeeded. Not only were they great, but the star was the taco wrap. It had a slightly salty flavor and tasted freshly made. Mark also commented on the burrito wrap itself. It looked similar to my taco shell/wrap. The taste of the wraps/shell truly elevated the flavor overall. We had to try the Churros for dessert. The serving was much larger than I expected. It can easily be shared by two. It is served warm, which was a treat. Mark didn't love them, but I thought they were a deliciously sweet ending to the meal. If you're feeling full, but still want to try the dessert, go for it but consider sharing. It's fair to say we will return.

This is not my favorite Mexican food ever, but is a solid dinner spot. My friend also ordered a combo, but didn't like that the burrito was filled with mostly just ground beef and nothing else.
