I don't often review Fast Food Spots, but when I do, I generally expect to be at 3 Stars for most fast food places. If it exceeds my expectations, I may go up. If it underperforms I may go down. I needed a quick lunch near this Taco Bell. I saw that they had the Decades ("We never go, Out. Of. Style") Menu, with menu items from the past. I ordered the 70's Green Sauce Burrito, the 90's Gordita Supreme and the 00's Apple Caramel Empanada. The Empanada was a home run. Super tasty. The Gordita Supreme was poorly executed. The beef was pretty much room temp and the whole thing actually tasted cold because of the sour cream and other cold ingredients. The Green Sauce Burrito was decent. BTW Taco Bell was doing pretty well to have green sauce in the 70's. LOL. It was bean-based and you're probably familiar with TB's beans. The green sauce brought a different vibe. I am a Door Dasher who came here to pickup an order. It was before 10pm so I wasn't expecting the lobby to be closed. I was confused when the doors were locked but I could see several orders sitting in the pickup stand. Before getting in the long drive through line, I decided to call and ask because I saw the orders sitting right there. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude. She didn't even let me finish asking my question before cutting me, telling me to go through the drive through, and hanging up on me. read more

I never thought I would review a Taco Bell, but here we are. Happy Saturday. I was in the area, realized I hadn't had Taco Bell since before they got rid of the nacho fries (the first time) and figured I'd order some and maybe a taco or two. Ordered in-app. The app is great. If only their stores were as great... anyway. I placed my order at 12:58. - 1 large nacho fries - 1 Doritos Locos taco - 1 soft taco - 1 medium fountain drink l didn't get out the door until 1:37, and I didn't get my drink. I let that one go, because the staff clearly seemed to be slammed. The store is very clean. The staff are polite. But... they are e x t r e m e l y slow. There were cars wrapped around the building, and several people inside waiting, for their order (or waiting for their order to be taken). I assume most, if not all, of the pending patrons used the digital kiosks to place their order, but that's neither here nor there. There was one patron that seemed to have been waiting at least 20 minutes (that's how long it was while I was there until they violently stormed out of the building, obviously aggravated because they burned through their lunch break). Some folks came in and left without ordering. The car-snake around the building continued to grow. I heard the staff mention my name to one another, and it immediately caught my attention. I look up, and they're grabbing a bag containing my food from atop a counter of some sort. "What's this order missing, large fries?" The staff puts a large fry in the bag, and knocks it right off of the counter. Fries spill all over the floor. They put a fresh order of fries in. Great. They hand me the bag and apologize for the wait. No problem -- fortunately I had the time today. Now, I should probably review the food. Soft taco was mid. Just another soft taco from Taco Bell. The Doritos Locos taco was soggy and soft, probably from sitting for however long. The taco was so deteriorated that the taco could no longer taco like a taco does. It ended up falling apart. The fries, however, were perfect... maybe there was a purpose in the staff accidentally knocking over the bag. The cheese sauce was fresh, too. Nice and hot. Did I have high expectations for Taco Bell, no. But damn! One star because that wait was insane and my Doritos Locos taco was crap. Two stars because I'm a little empathetic to being understaffed (which clearly seemed to be the genesis of the problem). You pay for what you get, I guess. I hope this store gets what it needs to do and be better. read more

I live right across the turnpike from this Taco Bell location- when I can order and get my food it's great and the people are friendly. But I can't even count on my hands and feet how many times I've pulled up to the drive through and have been told "sorry our computer system is down". And when the dining area was open- this wasn't a huge deal because I would just come in and leave more than enough cash to cover my order. Every single time we come here, we have nothing but problems. Literally. We'll come here maybe once every few months because it's closer than the Cromwell one, but I think we're just going to have to start going to that location because this one is just the worst. I would give it zero stars if possible. This location is the absolute worst. It's a Taco Bell Pizza Hut but their pizza oven is always broken. The last straw today. I get 30 minutes for lunch. Made a prepaid Mobile order, get here wait at speaker for approx 5 minutes no one takes order. Figure their oven is always broken so their speaker probably is too. Get to the window and wait8 minutes then they won't give me my order cuz I didn't talk to them at the speaker. So they make me drive around again wait again now not only do I not have time to eat but I am late returning to work. Sigh. Don't come here unless you have 45 minutes to go through their drive though. Manager could have handled the situation so much better. If you do some to this location don't prepay via the app cuz you are stuck, they won't give you a refund . I placed a mobile order for the grilled cheese burritos and a few other things. Spent more than $25. I get to the drive thru to pick up my order and to place another order on top of that. I ask for 3 different things, none of which they could make because their "steamer was down." We end up not ordering the second order, but still pick up the mobile order because it was already paid for. They say my mobile order is ready and ask me to pull up. I pull up, they give me my food. I pull over to a parking spot to make sure my order was correct, and it wasn't. The entire order was wrong. I pull around to the drive thru window to let them know it was wrong and their response was "well, we couldn't make your order because our steamer was down and we didn't have some of the items, so we gave you that instead." Uhm, what now? If you can't make something or don't have something, wouldn't you let your customer know as soon as they pull up? They didn't let us know, they were out of anything and let us go on our way. We then ask for a refund, the manager apparently couldn't give us a refund, and the manager didn't even know what number we could call to get a refund. The manager knew nothing about how to handle the situation and hands us off to someone under her who even though didn't completely solve our problem, was more helpful than the manager. To every question we had, the manager said "I don't know" and gave us an attitude. This isn't the first time I've had issues at this Taco Bell. I've come here 5 times in the past month and there's always something wrong EVERY time. It's always either a technical difficulty on their part, or the mess up the order. Whoever the Franchisee of this Taco Bell is, is clearly lazy and money hungry because he doesn't take the time to properly train his employees, ESPECIALLY the manager. Judging by other reviews, my personal experience, and the experience of friends that go here, this Taco Bell needs to be shut down. There's one in Cromwell that's much better, the staff is extremely polite, they know what they're doing, and they never mess up the order. And if they're ever out of something, they make sure to communicate it to us. I'll officially never be coming here again, and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this location. This has been a long time coming-- I am an avid Taco Bell goer and this is one location I will never visit again even though it's the nearest. There is something wrong with the order every time I have gone. One time I got supreme tacos and all that came in it was literally some melted cheese and a piece of chicken.... the fried items usually have a bitter taste because the oil probably doesn't get changed out often. read more

The drive thru is always busy, but always moves quickly. The food is always "fresh" and consistent. They are very stingy with the sauce packets. Sometimes they don't offer, so make sure you get your little packets of flavor heaven. If you ask for a lot, have ordered 10 items, they might give you 6 packets....So I get specific ex. Could I please have 8 packets of hot, and 5 packets of fire? The fresco menu is great, because it is the same items but without cheese or sour cream, making the item a bit healthier. The employees range from very sweet and friendly, to neutral. I've never encountered someone with a bad attitude. This Taco Bell is in a lot off US-5/Route 15 in Berlin. Parking seemed adequate, although since this Taco Bell doesn't have that many tables, I don't think it needs that much parking either. I'm not sure I visited the same Taco Bell as the previous two reviewers. I found service to be okay. It took a little while to prepare the food but one of them brought it over to me when it was done. The only real downside was I didn't see a water spigot at the self-serve beverage area. Sometimes, we want to refill with water, not soda. The restaurant interior was bright and clean. I've been here multiple times in the last couple months and on at least 75% of the visits they either aren't accepting cash, aren't accepting credit cards, can't place drive thru orders, or you need to wait 15 mins while they reboot their computers. I live very close to this location and my boyfriend LOVES the Pizza hut connected to the Taco bell so we go often. EVERYTIME we go there is a problem. Food tastes great but they are ALWAYS out of Mild sauce, and the Pizza hut is ALAYS out of Pizza and breadsticks. I am not sure why or how they even have a pizza hut there with not Pizza. They forget the chips when we ordered the nachos and cheese side order. I have yet to meet a staff member that was friendly and made me feel happy about my order. Service is extremely slow inside the restaurant as well as the drive thru. People have an average wait of 20+ minutes for their taco or pizza order. I went there on Sun. and ordered 2 orders of triple layer nachos and 2 mini beef quesadillas. The website had them on their dollar menu so I expected to pay $4 plus tax but it was $5.91. I asked why and they said they are $1.39 each. When I got home (the food wasn't for me) and opened the bag I got 2 nacho fries instead of the nachos. Very disappointing as I went for my elderly aunt who doesn't drive, so it was a big treat for her. I called and asked to speak to the manager. She said she would take my name and next time I came in I could have my meal for free. I told her that I don't live in the area or eat Taco Bell food and the food was for someone who can't drive so that wouldn't work. I asked if they could send my aunt a gift card and she said to call back in 2 weeks as they were already waiting for gift cards for 2 other customers. This made no sense to me. I can't see why a manager can't resolve a simple problem on her own and isn't allowed to give any gift cards. The gift card probably would never have been used as my aunt can't get there and I don't see her very often. It was just the principle, I don't eat Taco Bell food as I don't like it. Now let me start off by saying, I love me some TB even though it's a chain. Ok, now that it's out of the way. This one I tend to avoid if I can. I will only buy here if I'm dying of hunger and/or drunk, two of which I mostly never am at the BT. Anyways, I've eaten in here a couple times and each time it seems that it just gets worse and worse. Constantly dirty, old sticky soda stains on the tables, could use a good scrub down that's for sure. I've never had a problem with my food, it's always been good but the place needs help. The staff is also normally not that friendly and act like your time isn't valuable. They also basically throw your food at you and go on doing what they were doing before. I love Taco Bell and we are usually there 1-3 times a week however the service has been awful lately. There are a few workers that are nice however they are always having issues, the last 6 times I've gone we have had to leave. Because either they aren't taking cash and only credit cards or they are only taking cash and no credit cards, the drive thru has been closed and you have to go inside cause no one to take orders then you go inside and no one is taking orders in there either. You have one screen to place an order on that everyone is using to place orders no one is washing it in btw uses. The line was so long inside yesterday no one was behind the counter they were in the back talking. Drive thru was closed and only the screen to place orders. Very unorganized. I know due to Covid things have changed but this set up has nothing to do with Covid. There is no one taking orders. And why do they bother asking if you want sauce? I was very enthusiastic about getting tacos before the location closed at 2 am. However, I was very disappointed to hear that they "heaters were down" for the late 30 minutes of the store being open. This is essentially closing earlier than advertised. False advertisement is unacceptable. I am sickened to have to crave tacos at 1:30 am when I should definitely be able to receive tacos based on the established Taco Bell brand. I hope this issue can be resolved in the future. read more
