TACO BELL @ CARLSBAD Parking is available out front as well as their drive thru. This was my first time going into a collided Taco Bell and KFC, I've never seen this before! Sad perk, is that you can order online or use any rewards if you have the app. Walking in, the place is extremely spacious, many seats to choose from, and the ambiance was clean and fresh. It took a second to get someone to help us with ordering food at the counter but they were pretty busy. We got their Beef Loaded Nachos ($2.99) and their iconic Grilled Beefy Melt Burrito ($4.99). The sauces are available right at the counter. We got our food fairly quick, the nachos were incredible, love it every time and it's never a miss. I'd definitely share this with someone! As for the grilled cheese burrito, pretty disappointing, they burnt the cheese a bit and it wasn't cheesy, it blended more on the tortilla. However, the inside was pretty good but felt like it was more tortilla bites then the rice, meat, etc inside. Overall, I'll definitely come back and get the nachos again! Taco Bell/KFC where do I start? You're like every woman I've ever had a relationship with. It always ends in a ginormous nuclear blast with buildings destroyed people crying coughing stumbling about screaming WTF! smoke everywhere clouds fires babies screaming police sirens and me swearing to all the gods I will get help and never ever ever do it again. I would 100% give no stars. I placed a $23 order & it took close to 20 minutes to get the order--not because they're slow but because they couldn't figure out how the payment would work. I handed the cashier Marlene a $20 bill and my card. She clarified with me $20 cash, $3 on my card. She ran my order fully on my card which would've been fine. Then a manager (i think) got involved, handed me $23 back. Simple easy, fine. She then proceeded to run my debit again for $3 and then asked me for $20 ... again. I stated I already gave them $20 cash. She looked confused then started speaking Spanish to the original cashier. She then took back $20 of the $23 she had given me back in cash. Marlene then proceeds to explain she ran the full $23 on my card so they reran my purchase for $3. Basically I am now out over $40 for a $23 purchase because they couldn't figure out simple math and just give me my $20 back. I currently have $3 in cash and $26 charged to my card & $20 cash gone. I had a screaming 9 month old in my car so I didn't care to deal with it and left. I will be calling the establishment in the morning to ask what happened. I also didn't even get the full order. I want to say that this place did good. The line was super long. But they have both KFC and Taco Bell menus at this location. They did a good job with getting the order correct from both menus! We were greeted by the woman in drive thru window, who was nice considering the amount of cars coming through. We got condiments, napkins and circled back around to park in their lot to eat. So many complaints about the employees. When I went on Sunday, I immediately was greeted by a friendly employee when going through the drive-through. First let me say that I don't come here often, I've lived in the area for 6 years and have visited this store maybe a dozen times - I'm not sure if that's helpful for this review or makes the review worse, I guess it's perspective really. So that said, this place has lovely people working the drive thru - friendly. But WHY CAN'T THEY GET ALL THE ITEMS TO THE CUSTOMER? Like seriously folks - it's not that hard, you take the order, take the payment, put the things on the screen in the bag and hand it out the window. I'm not sure if this is a training issue or what but it seems the management & franchise owner should spend more effort working with the staff to CONFIRM THAT ALL THE ITEMS ARE IN THE BAG AND EVERYTHING ORDERED HIS OUT THE WINDOW (including drinks!). This should not be up to the customer to worry if they got everything they ordered, this is basic service - I mean you wouldn't allow this to happen at a sit-down restaurant where the customer waited forever for the entree to arrive only to never get it and then be expected to pay for it anyway... why is this acceptable in the drive thru?! Oh yes, because the customer is unknowing and doesn't discover until they are home... rude. I absolutely love Kfc and Taco Bell so when I can't decide between the two of them, I get the best of both worlds at this location! This location is near my work so I usually stop in once a week or so. Every time the service is very slow. Most of the time it isn't easy crowded or busy, they just take forever! It's never particularly clean either, not trashed or anything but it always looks like it could use a once over. I rarely write reviews, and to be quite honest I wish I would have written my positive one first. I go to this Taco Bell at least once a week and one of the things that kept me coming back was that THEY ALWAYS offered my dog a treat. It became one of his favorite things to do, "let's go get Taco Bell" has become a fun thing to say in our house because of how excited he would get. Needless to say, I'm the past few months they have stopped doing that and it has been a really bummer. It was such a sweet touch to what is normally an ordinary drive through experience. I would even drive further to this one because of how much it meant (we now we go to the one closest to our home). When I asked an employee why they stopped doing it, she responded "We have new management and they don't like dogs". So I go to this Taco Bell literally every day because it's right next to my work. I usually like coming here. Today I walked in during lunch with my face covered and waited in line for about 7 minutes. Then when I came to the counter, the older man which I'm pretty sure is one of the managers very rudely told me he could not offer me service because my face mask was not on the approved list. Which I understand. But why did he let me wait in line for 7 minutes then talk to me at the counter and refuse me service when he could have just taken my order in all the time spent. Moreover, he was very disrespectful in his demeanor and the way he said this. My point being, I have a 30 minute lunch and due to this whole situation and him asking me to leave from the get go (giving me time to go somewhere else), I was not able to eat lunch before I could return back to work because of the time I spent waiting in line, etc. I was a daily customer, but due to this I will not be returning here anymore. I was not impressed this place. It was really slow. I had two cars in front of me in the drive thru and took me 20 minutes to get my food. The people who work thier seem nice and the location of this place is ideal to get off and on the freeway. The quality of the food however wasn't great. Unfortunately towards the end his demeanor had changed and he had a nasty tone towards my husband. Now, I understand that we had a relatively complicating order but, to change your demeanor and make your customers feel unwelcomed I feel is poor customer service. He was very short with my husband.. He Didn't really answer simple questions respectfully. At a customers stand point it almost seemed like he didn't want anything to do with his customers.
