I stopped by last night (4-21-24) thinking I'd get a late night snack after being on the road. The main Taco Bell I visit is being remodeled. There was a long line in the drive thru, but I had nothing else to do but go home, so I waited. I entered the line at 9:28 pm. I don't remember what time it was when I got to the drive thru speaker to give my order. After waiting so long, I figured I'd order something quick and went with the loaded beef nachos. I got to the drive thru window at 10:09 pm. No one was at the window when I pulled up. I drove away empty handed at 10:11 pm after being told that they didn't have any more & I'd drive off before she could tell me. Hello. I moved up in line because my order was on the screen with the total. I actually tried to make a joke at the drive thru because of the wait time. When I was asked if that was all I was ordering, I said to the female on speaker that she was welcome to throw more in the bag if she wanted to. She didn't hear me and after I repeated it, she told me to drive forward or something like that. Whoever the young lady was at the window wasn't the same person taking the order. This location is conveniently located near me so I have stopped in a few times, but unfortunately the service is horrible I think I may make a longer drive to a different location because it is better there. Taco Bell is what it is...but just reading through the previous reviews, it's super hard to really live up to people's expectations. Yes, it is "fast food" but I'm sure it's super hard to keep the pace especially if they are short staffed and systems are malfunctioning. The other night I went through a drive through and they only took cash due to their credit card system being down... no biggie - stuff happens. This location is a bit hidden so there's never really a line when I've visited. It's easy to get in and out due to the physical parking lot and drive through right on the corner of Montford and Woodlawn/Runnymeade (whatever the road name is). I do admit, there was one time they were out of taco shells... which was crazy to me, but there were plenty of other options. I have to also say, as far as vegetarian options and fast food, Taco Bell definitely has more options than other competitors. Low key this is my favorite Taco Bell in charlotte. They're always super friendly, always get my order right and always hook it up with the sauce! Taco Bell, you should be ASHAMED and EMBARRASSED from serving that GARBAGE tostada! This location used to be pretty good but it has gone downhill fast. Very inconsistent. It used to be quick and made good food in the past but it's usually slow and sloppy now. They also tend to under fill items. It's cheap, it's convenient and if you go with a burrito, it's food you can eat while you're driving. There is better nearby if you want Mexican (the 1900 around the corner on Park, for instance) or other sit down food (at the Roasting Company). I've seen people order $12 worth of higher-end items at a TB, which never makes sense to me. I can completely enjoy (within limits, this isn't Ruth's Chris!) a 7 Layer Burrito or a Spicy Chicken Burrito and walk out of here with change from $5. Add the "fire" sauce for a little extra zing. As TB's go, this one is within standards. Sometimes they fold the burrito properly (sealed at both ends) and sometimes they don't and you have to make sure it doesn't all leak out the bottom. I have not been given my receipt a couple of times at the drive-thru, though they are pretty good about not screwing up the order. read more
