I can usually get a good size main dish with a side of rice and beans, and a drink, for around eight dollars, if you use the lunch menu. You can really get a good deal if you go on Taco Tuesday, where tacos are only a dollar. Most of the food is more American-Mexican than authentic Mexican, but it's still pretty good, and they do have a few dishes which are closer to authentic. The meat is fairly good quality, never too much fat or gristle, usually well cooked. The chip dip isn't too spicy, but if you're one who likes spicy dip, you can order their warmer stuff which is hot enough to numb your taste buds. I would also recommend their fried ice cream, which is probably the best I've had. The staff is generally pretty friendly and helpful, always there to give you a refill or take your plate when you need it. The only complaint I've ever had is a language barrier with a couple of the waiters, but it's never been a big problem. Overall if you're looking for an affordable place to get some good Mexican food, I would recommend El Dos De Oros.
