Tuesday Taco Night Perfection!…read more Tacos and Beer Paola in Lexington is such a gem. This unique spot sits next to its sister location--an older Stop & Go that's packed with Mexican boots, treats, sodas, and food goods--which already sets the vibe before you even walk in. We stopped in for Tuesday taco night and were immediately impressed. Chips and salsa came out with two fantastic salsas, both full of flavor. There's also a Pepsi cooler stocked with Mexican sodas and beers, which was a fun and authentic touch. The staff was beyond friendly--welcoming, patient, and genuinely happy to have us there. Now the tacos... wow. Finger-licking good. I devoured three tacos: brisket, steak, sausage, and cow head--every single one was incredible. The cheese dip was smooth, rich, and absolutely wonderful. My husband loved his chicken and steak tacos as well. If I had to give one tip: do not skip the roasted jalapeños. Trust me. We'll definitely be back soon--and next time, we're bringing the kiddos.

We discovered it several months ago on a whim (just happened to catch our eye on a drive). We've been many times and have tried several different options. Portions are very generous and the flavor is amazing. My personal favorite is the Tacos al Pastor. The staff is always friendly and cheerful. They also have to-go available, which we have done as well. Highly recommend.

Walk up counter service, with friendly and kind staff. This little taqueria has just a handful of tables and chairs and was quiet on my late afternoon visit. I ordered the tacos, four to an order, two each AlPastor and Carnitas they were exceptionally good in their own style, each done near perfection, as I said perhaps the best in town. I grabbed a jarritos outta the chill box and a seat, about ten minutes later my tacos arrived. Four traditional street style tacos in the basket with lime wedges and some sliced radish on the side. 4.5 Stars - All in all a great choice for authentic mexican food. Rounded up for the kind service. Definitely worth the effort to find and support *google maps put me on the street behind the taqueria as the entry - the small entry is on Reynolda on the curve... 01123

This time in I wanted to try another of my favorite Mexican dishes - Carnitas. I also decided to try an Al Pastor Huarache. Just as before, my order was out quickly and I was on my way. I started with the Huarache - basically a thick flatbread loaded with beans, Al Pastor (my meat choice), avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Served with both a verde and a roja salaThis was an excellent item, as good as any I've had in the area. I saved most to be shared and finished later, not an easy decision. The Carnitas was another excellent item. The pork chunks here are as large as any I'd run across, but they are tender with some outside crust because they are slow simmered in lard - remember when lard was bad for us? The carnitas come with rice, beans, a bit of white onion, and a simple lettuce and tomato salad, and tortillas. This was a great meal - the carnitas were tender, I put some of the pork chunks in tortillas, added some onion, a squeeze of lime and rotated the salsa. On most Mexican salads, simple or otherwise, I squeeze a good amount of lime juice and a healthy amount of salt - this type of "dressing" goes well with most entrees. I do recommend this little place, the owner is good people, and the food is top notch!

While the menu is more selective I found everything to be far better in taste and how it is cooked! Today we shared the Mediterranean appetizer with hummus and tzatziki. Hummus is smooth and have a tahini forward flavor. My spouse and I both liked it. Tzatziki is exceptional. It is one of my favorite sauces in the world and this is great. Pita was a wonderful texture and taste wise. I ordered the chicken plate. It came out sizzling hot like fajitas traditionally do. The chicken was temperature right out of the oven, juicy and an excellent texture. Couscous on the side was beautifully cooked and had a nice touch of spice to it. The other metal bowl on my platter had a greek village style salad with diced cucumbers, diced red onions and cut in half mini tomatoes. Spouse had a Turkish pizza. The seasoning had a nice spice and kick to it. He enjoyed his meal. Spouse ordered 2 beers on draft. One of the beers was one he had before not on draft and was thrilled to try it on draft as he liked it way more. He was happy with their beer on draft selection. When deciding whether to choose the birthday or neapolitan cake we asked the gentleman at the register which he thought was better or more special. He recommended Neapolitan. It was absolutely perfect and delicious! I have never had a cake quite like it. Would totally choose it again! Very happy with the food, quality, temperature, texture and juiciness. All far surpasses it previously. Will return very soon. FYI they can only take cash tips so bring some cash. Matt got the beef nachos - only feedback was that all the toppings were on top so the bottom chips had nothing. The kids shared the chicken tenders and Mexican rice. I arrived for an early dinner on a Wednesday late afternoon / early evening. Very impressed with the quality building structure renovation and with the elegant open space interior design, I asked the Host / Server for a table and I was seated and given a copy of the menu. To drink I ordered the Housemade Lemonade. As I waited and examined the menu, I observed the beautiful open space renovation with nice and comfortable furniture and outstanding works of art decorating the restaurant. The server arrived with my drink and a welcoming smile and took my order. For apappetizer I ordered the Chips and Choriqueso. And for my main entry I ordered two Flank Steak and one Pork Carnitas tacos. Two of them Traditional style and one Gringo style. And for dessert the Churrosticks. The iced lemonade was one of the best lemonades I've ever had. Very lemony and the right sweetness. The quality of the Chips and Choriqueso was superb and the tacos were simply delicious. The service was superb. My server came by at the appropriate times to check on me and provide refills for my lemonade. I can't imagine how good the Margaritas must be at this restaurant / bar. I highly recommend this contemporary restaurant / bar for a place to go alone, to relax, or with family and friends to enjoy some quality time together in a clean and tastefully decorated Mexican restaurant located in a chick location.
