Friendly staff, but the food was sub par.. Went for lunch on a Friday, the taco meat tasted old, several days old.. like it had been reheated more than once. Pintos and cheese were decent, rice ok. They give you a huge pile of chips, but no salsa, hot sauce wasn't. All in all, ...nothing special. So I am originally from Kalamazoo and grew up on Taco Bob's and have been to several locations (so each one is getting a review)! More times than I will admit. People were blown away when Taco Bell came out with the Double Decker years ago, PLEASE.... that has nothing on Taco Bob's Funny Taco. Hands down, the best! Every single time I come home to visit, it is 100% required I go here and most of the time it is more than once. It is what it is. So this Mattawan location... Ummm where were you when I went to school and graduated from there? I move to Florida and while home on a visit decide to drive around my old stomping grounds and see what has changed and what do I see???? A TACO BOB'S! So unfair! But yeah, of course, I stopped and had a funny taco... complaining the whole time that they could have been there back when I was in school! LOL. We weren't allowed to leave campus for lunch (not sure if that has changed) but it would have been an after school stop for sure! If in the Kalamazoo area, make it part of the plan for a visit at one of the 6 locations. read more

Taco Bob's is a great fast food alternative to other fast food chains. I love that the ingredients are fresh and loaded. Tacos have a ton of tomatoes and lettuce, so much that it falls out onto the plate! My son wanted chips in his cheesy taco so they added that happily. My other son wanted olives in his taco so they added that. Everyone in the place is always friendly and asking how everything was! My kids loved the taco tattoos on the way out. I give only 4 stars because I really don't like their guacamole! And a Mexican place is only as good as their guacamole right?!? read more

Based on one visit, I can not recommend this place if you like good Mexican food. The "beef" in the wet burrito was the ground taco meat that probably came out of a food service can. I spent most of my time here eating a wet burrito and shooing flies. Also, the food on the floor looked tastier than what was on my plate. The staff obviously doesn't have any pride in their place of employment. I think you'll be happier at Tocao Bell, the food is the same but less money. read more

Decided to give this fast food Mexican restaurant a try as I noticed a billboard on I-94 for it on my way to Kalamazoo for the weekend. Typical menu/fare of burritos, tacos and quesadillas, decided to try their wet burrito. Received a luke-warm entree as the cheese blend on the top of the burrito appeared to be of a quality offering unfortunately in a shredded state versus melted, the ground beef and refried beans were not properly layered, while the ranchero sauce was a little thin/runny for my liking. The portion appeared seemed somewhat small camouflaged by a bunch of shredded lettuce. There was some chips on the side, however thought they should increase the burrito size instead. In general the quality of the ingredients was satisfying just was not prepared well Would advise the owners to visit the belt line bar in Grand Rapids to gain valuable insights on how to improve their wet burrito entree read more

We have been here a couple times but on two occasion been rung up wrong. When we pointed it out to the manager Steve he would not correct and gave us attitude. He told is that he did not have to give us discount because he did not feel like it. Disappointed with the customer service and will not be returning. I Love Taco Bob's! Didn't know this one existed in Mattawan 'til I saw the billboard on I-94. I just had to find it! I always get their combo meals because the sides - rice and beans - are so good. Comes with chips and drink as well. I usually get #9 wet burrito, which is awesome, but today had #2 special taco. It was delicious! Worth being late back from lunch break. Friendly service. Food is made to order so it takes a minute or two... Worth the Wait. I will drive out of my way to satisfy a craving now that I know this is here. read more

The food is mediocre at best. The kind of Mexican food a middle aged midwesterner would make at home. The service is also mediocre. You are lucky to receive napkins and a fork at the drive thru. Your order may confuse the employees even if it is only a number. The only saving grace is that this is the only drive thru restaurant within 6 miles. It is not worth parking and walking inside. read more
