Steak "Mexican style" tacos (cilantro, onion, lime)

Amazing tacos for affordable prices. Not the best I've had but definitely would hit the spot when a crave comes along. Also the tamarind juice was delicious. A bit watered down but still pretty flavorful. Atmosphere was really chill. Order at the counter and if you eat-in they'll deliver to your table. Great verde sauce!!

If you're craving Mexican, this place is not it. I got the carne asada burrito and it was giving Del Taco/Taco Bell vibes with the iceberg lettuce and mayo. Their sauces were also mediocre. Out of all the Mexican restaurants I've been to in California, I've never seen such a vibrant almost-highlighter-green sauce like this one.

Carne Asada, Tripe, ElPastor and Horchata. Plenty of cilantro and onions (as it should be) and great flavoring in the meat.

Friendly staff, good flavors, and a clean place. I got 3 tacos; carne asada, tripe and al pastor. All three had a great taste and I'm looking forward to coming back. I also had the horchata, taste homemade and that's refreshing. Thanks for keeping a local Mexican place open for me to come try out.

Great little place, the food is really good, the steak was really dry and tough but the rest of them were delicious.

Tacos of three kinds: steak, pork, chicken

Can't say enough about the quality and value of the food at this little, nondescript place - but locals know it's unquestionably some of the best anywhere in SW Michigan. We've tried every single authentic Mexican restaurant we can find in the area and these folks share top honors for sure. Best single feature: the green sauce. Be sure to ask for extra! Red is fine, but green is like some inexplicable elixir of the gods (what's the secret? roasted tomatillos?). Great on literally everything, and a superb alternative to salsa with your chips. All the taco options are outstanding - we think they're the best in Kzoo. Steak is probably the best of all. Entrees are surprisingly good, too - try the enchiladas verde, which is mind-blowing: fresh, flavorful, with homemade tortillas as a base, slightly crispy around the edges from taking some time in the oven. What a difference that makes! I like the chicken, but I think you can't go wrong whatever you select for your meat. Chile relleno is also really good, but we like that particular dish even better up the street at Quekas. The people who work here are always unfailingly friendly and a pleasure to visit. This place is a gem hiding in the Edison neighborhood. I almost hate to give them even more business, because some nights it's actually too busy to get in even for takeout - but they deserve it. Maybe they'll expand sometime in the future?

Super delicious! I drive by this place all the time and didn't realize it was a Mexican restaurant until I yelped for a Mexican restaurant as my usual haunt is closed on a Sunday. Absolutely love this quirky place! You order your food at the counter and the staff delivers it to your table. Make sure you get the green sauce as well as the red. Since I was hangry we ordered almost everything on the menu. We had the Chicken Sope; amazing home made shell and seasoned meat and cheeses and deliciousness. The Al Pastor tacos were super tasty made Mexican style. We had the pepper and cheese tamales, which were tasty and extremely filling. And topped it all off with a crunchy rolled chicken flauta. The one meal was served with rice and beans. Since I love beans, we ordered an extra side of them. The food was very authentic, tasty and served fast!

I simply LOVE this place and have been eating there since before the current owners. Got to know…read morethe previous owners and family ( thus the name La Familia ) but there's a HUGE problem!! I just recently started eating birria tacos and I was OK with it ( tried it at several restaurants before trying it here. But EVERYPLACE else had " soup " for their consome ( am I misspelling it? ) Anyway when I asked the head host about how they make their soup it floored me because I was wondering how I got sick from eating it. But he told me they simply drained the grease from the ground beef and add onions and cilantro then serve it to customers for $2.50 a bowl!! Double whammy, I don't eat ground beef and I DEFINITELY don't eat grease!!!! So the fact that I ordered chicken birria and received a bowl of cooked cow grease it almost sent me to the ER! Not cool! So even though I still eat there I DON'T get their birria and just wanted to let everyone know what they are ACTUALLY being sold. An entire bowl of " Artery clogging GREASE, 'GROSS' " for a WHOPPING $2.50. For something that is supposed to be discarded but it's being sold to unsuspecting customers. I haven't had ANY other complaints about this restaurant and will continue to eat there. Great food and great staff. Just not so great selling bowls of " beef grease " for $2.50. So enjoy the rest just please steer clear of the expensive bowl of " liquid ughh "!! Please for all of your own health!! Have a blessed day!! The star rating is only for this ONE incident. The overall rating is a solid 3.75-4 and if they learn customer service I don't see why they can't reach a respectable rating of 5stars!! Enjoy your day!!

It was not very busy and we got our food almost as fast as you would at any fast food restaurant. I can't say it would be true if it were busy. The staff, one young lady was very friendly and very accommodating. She was great. You order at the counter and she brought out our food. Now to the food. It was delicious. I ended up getting the Grand Burrito (dry). There is a wet version too. It was BIG and heavy! It was filled with rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, onions and some delicious grilled chicken. You can get the chicken cold, but not my thing. I couldn't finish it and I was hungry! Oh the chips were good too. No salsa but they were tasty by themselves. The place is clean and has plenty of seating for 2 to 8 people depending on how busy it is. There appears there might also be outdoor seating as well, would be nice if it wasn't winter. I would come again and maybe try the same again or try one of there many other delicious food. The price for my giant burrito was $12.

The corn tacos were okay, hard to eat with the shredded chicken. Chips and salsa are ok. Guacamole would have made it even better, as the shells broke after a bite and got soggy from the liquid. The chicken itself wasn't bad, not super flavorful. The queso was quite runny, purely liquid. Some onions or cilantro would have been nice condiment adds.
