Met family here for a late lunch. It was quiet and not very busy. Our server was very helpful and attentive to our party of 9. I was glad that it wasn't noisy as a few in our party have hearing difficulties. Our orders arrived quickly and the food was hot and delicious. This is a real authentic Mexican restaurant. The food here is nutritionally very clean and about as raw as you can get for authentic Mexican food. Every dine in order comes with a complimentary salsa and chips. We ordered the naked burrito which I highly recommend. The ingredients are so simple, but they truly come together like someone's grandmother made it in the kitchen. The vegetables were crisp and the beans were nicely seasoned. The serving size was large and very fairly priced. I recommend asking for salsas/sauces as you eat your entree as that really elevated the experience While I agree with other reviews that the seating is a bit dated and the service takes a bit of time, I truly believe we had a 5 star experience and that this establishment is the best Mexican place around town! Update: Came back here and the dinner was amazing! Service was spot on and fast. Some of the best vegetarian food I've ever had. The dinner menu is hearty and extremely flavorful. Stopped in here because the reviews on yelp are really good, but I was kind of disappointed. We ordered fajitas to go as well as steak tacos and chicken quesadillas. The quesadillas were nothing to write home about, they were pretty boring and flavorless. The fajitas were along the same line. What really bothered me about the fajitas was that there was only about a tablespoon of pico de gallo, a handful of lettuce, and nothing else for toppings. No cheese, no guacamole, no sour cream. The steak tacos, The cheapest thing on the menu, were great! If I ever stop in here again I'm going to be sure just to order 10 steak tacos. The other thing that kind of turned me off was that we tried to place an order for about an hour over the phone and each time we called it rang and rang and rang and rang and nobody picked up. I was at my wits end and going to order from some other place, but the final call was picked up. To top it off when I arrived to pick up the food, here were three girls just sitting behind the kitchen window talking and on their phones. I understand that restaurants get busy, I worked in a busy restaurant for four years of my life. However, the lifeblood of a restaurant are the patrons, and if you can't put down your phone for five minutes to take an order over the phone then there's a problem. Overall, I have no problem coming back here, but maybe I'll try sitting in the restaurant and ordering to see if I have a better experience. read more

We are always attended really well and I can't complain about their service but I've been in at time when the food is delicious but have also had moments where there is hardly any flavor to what I'm eating and I leave disappointed. So, here's the thing. If you go back through some of my older reviews, you will see that I have not had the best of luck with Mexican food here in the state of Michigan. Little bit of a background, I promise I will try to keep this as short as possible. I spent the majority of my life in Oklahoma. Some consider it the south, some don't. Either way, there is a very large Mexican community which crosses over the Tex-Mex life. Mexican food down that way is very different from the Mexican food up this way. When I first landed here, my mother took me out for Mexican food. I ordered a burrito platter. It came out, with gravy on top. GRAVY! Of course, she thought it was really funny. I didn't laugh as I sat there trying to scrape the gravy off. Now, I know some places have a 'wet' burrito that has sauce. This was not sauce. It was legit gravy and it really weirded me out. After many attempts to find good Mexican food here in Michigan, I had pretty much given up all hope. I've been to a few places that were decent, some were good, and some were a little more than good. Maybe I am just too picky. Or maybe, I just like my Mexican food either way. I'm out visiting my friend in Decatur and she says, "Okay, I am going to take you to Cancun."  Beach, yes please. ;) We go, Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend. I expect to see a ton of people in there. First, the place was not at all what I expected. Second, there was one large family and a couple. As soon as I looked at the menu, and saw it had breakfast, I'll admit I did a little happy dance. It was too late in the day for me to have breakfast, even though I am one of those people who love breakfast food at all times of day. I zeroed in on the fish tacos. That has been my go-to lately, so I figured I may as well check them out. I loved that they had a taco platter and you could pick from corn or flour tortillas. Hard or soft. Some places do that, but not many. Most come out how they come out. Not only could you pick your meat. Beans only, beef, chicken, shrimp, or fish. SOLD! Chips and salsa. I am a salsa junkie. I absolutely loved it. So, I was pretty excited as I waited for my food because I felt if they had salsa that wowed me, their food was going to wow me as well. Hey, I am always hopeful. Fish tacos came out, I snapped my pretty picture, and then took my first bite. Major excitement that they gave me 2 corn tortillas per taco. There were 3 of them, by the way. That made me happy because nothing bothers me more than when the corn tortilla breaks and my stuff comes crashing down on my plate. Or, worse, my chest or lap. Don't laugh, you know you've been there. The fish was not breaded. I forgot to ask if it was, but thankful it wasn't. You get a whole piece of fish. Not just a few broken up crumbles. But a whole piece. A couple of my tacos must have had longer fish pieces and they cut it to fit the taco, so it looked like I had more than one piece. The fish was seasoned, but not overbearing. The tacos were light and refreshing. The refried beans were the perfect consistency. And the rice, I don't usually eat Mexican rice when I eat out because one bite and I am done. Here, I could barely get it in my mouth fast enough. I am a happy camper. My only downside to this is that I live so far away so it's not like I can just jump in my car, head to town, and enjoy another meal. But, when I am back in town, I will stop by again. read more

A friend and I went there and ordered two entrees that were both similar to stuffed burritos. Both of them were steak with peppers onions and so on. Both of them the steak inside them had more chunks of fat and gristle then there was actual steak. Each of these entrees costs over $13 a piece. I suggest that nobody ever goes there again. Plus I originally ordered a chimichanga but they had already shut down their fryer an hour before close. It looked like a bunch of children had tried to start a restaurant, but are feeling miserably.
