Still charged me full price and refused to apologize and when I pointed that out the staff literally pretended like I wasnt there or speaking and then a few minutes later they handed me my food and I once again pointed out no one apologized but you guessed it was ignored again. Im very vocal about supporting local businesses in social media and believe me all of west michigan will be hearing about all this disrespect. Wonder if theyd pass a health inspection? I gave them multiple chances and never raised my voice or anything. The empty tip jar makes way more sense. A good business would've made it right initially not hung up and ignored me and continued to treat me horrible. Ill tell every person who will give me a moment of their time about this experience and be posting on all my social media platforms. A young woman came by at what can only be described as warp speed, dropped a flimsy plastic spork on the table, and streaked away. The spork was so flimsy that it was nearly impossible to eat with. Then there was the 3% debit card surcharge. I understand businesses have costs associated with credit cards, but being charged an additional 3% simply for paying with a debit card was disappointing especially when the overall service had already been so lacking. That pretty much summed up the entire experience: the food was good, but the service and attention to detail simply weren't there. Barrio has the potential to be a 5 star experience, but the execution, service, and overall customer experience need significant improvement. Management really needs to take a hard look at the basics.... introducing servers, checking on tables, providing utensils, keeping drinks filled, and simply making customers feel like someone is paying attention. 4-5 star food with a 1-2 star experience. I'd consider coming back because the food was good. I just hope the service catches up to it.

I added some of the hot sauce which gave it the perfect kick of heat. I tried some of Nate's barbacoa taco, which was just as I remembered, super flavorful and tender. Hey everyone.. this is a terrible restaurant. If you leave a bad review; the owner, Angel G., will message you to argue about it instead of doing anything to improve. Oh, and don't try to prove a point because dearest Angel does not care and he will accuse you of many other things before he shuts up and takes the critical feedback in order to help his restaurant survive. For the review; service, food, and ambiance are all terrible. There are hundreds of better restaurants in Grand Rapids that deserve your patronage and you'll have a much better experience. This restaurant survives because they managed to find an okay slot of property. Don't forget.. these are the boobs that thought they could open on Cinco de Mayo and then promptly closed for a very long time because they could not meet basic demands. I only hope one day to see this shit hole on either bar rescue or restaurant impossible. Because it needs rescuing or it's impossible to stay open. I can only hope that Robert Irvine or Jon Taffer give this clown of an owner a rude awakening that is much needed. Taco Borracho absolutely deserves 5 stars in my book! They went above and beyond to accommodate our large party of 13 for my birthday dinner. I originally requested the patio, but they thoughtfully called ahead to check if we'd prefer indoor seating due to the cold, snowy, and windy weather--a level of consideration that truly stood out. The atmosphere was incredible--beautifully decorated with Hispanic flags, artwork, and ambient lighting that created a warm and inviting space. The reggaeton music added to the energy, and we even found ourselves dancing during dinner! As for the food, I ordered the arrachera steak dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. The arroz con gandules tasted just like home, and they didn't miss a thing--including the classic side salad that completes any authentic Hispanic meal. To top it all off, the amazing staff surprised me with a tres leches cake and sang Happy Birthday, making the night even more special. If you're looking for a lively spot for a celebration or even a fun night out for two, I highly recommend Taco Borracho. The atmosphere, food, and staff were all top-notch! This is my go to place when I'm craving a great sandwich. They have the best Puerto Rican steak sandwich, the bread that they use is so good. The sandwich has a large portion of flavorful steak, put together with all of the toppings and melty cheese ughhh sooo good!! But let's not forget about the breakfast sandwich... again the bread that they use is perfection when paired with the egg, cheese and ham. Again, so good! I decided on the hot & spicy burrito, with chicken, beef, beans, and rice, topped with salsa ranchera and beef tips. Nate got a chimichanga. Our food didn't take too long to come out and everything was hot and fresh. The burrito was smaller than I was expecting based on its price ($16.49), but it was delicious and I ate the whole thing. I will definitely be back to try more menu items, and maybe even for their lunch menu.

The enchiladas were some of the best I've had in Grand Rapids and the price point was fair at $13, also the beans that came with it went very nice with the sauce on top of them. The 3 tacos I got were el pastor, asada, and barbacoa (for a slight upcharge). All three were delicious and my favorite was the el pastor for sure. My wife got the quesabirria dinner which came with three quesabirria tacos, beans, and rice. We had to order the comsome on the side because it didn't come with it, which I felt was a little odd. We also got a side of chips and queso and they were great! The food was prepared quickly and made for an easy take out experience. Overall the food was tasty, but lacked some flavor, especially the birria which we had high hopes for. If you are in the same area I'd recommend the Quesabirria at Tamale Mary just down the round! The taco dinner was a great value to me since it was only $7.99! I'd for sure go back for a quick and affordable meal on a tuesday and I'm interested in trying more things!

It wasn't very busy, but they only had one server running around the whole place. The chips and salsas were all great, I loved mixing the two in the bottles! Very authentic flavors. The restaurant is small, but very festive. I ordered the Carne asada and my husband ordered the wet burrito. Both were fantastic! The rice and beans were very good and full of fresh flavors with the added fresh grilled vegetables. We'll definitely be back!
