BYO Burrito - Rice Beans Base
Delanie M.

unfortunately i was hangry when i arrived so being told there was no guac hurt a little more than usual. the chips were cold and desperately needed salt. it looks like the salt was all at the bottom of the chip basket which was unfortunate. i also didn't love the tomatillo salsa but i just think it was a poor choice on my end. without the guac i was thrown off. i wish we would have tried the house salsa instead. the thai chili tofu was really good but overall the burrito was pretty dry without a creamy component. the only creamy vegan option is guac and unfortunately they were out. i thought the food was very reasonably priced. just didn't hit for me. i do love that the menu is very clearly labeled with vegan, vegetarian, etc. - so so helpful

I really enjoyed this place for a lunch spot in downtown Grand Rapids! They have a pretty extensive menu with so many different options and ways to try tacos and burritos, but everyone's food looked good! I feel like it was an elevated funky Taco Bell, haha. My group ate outside and it was nice and spacious, but the indoor area also looked really fun! This is a quick 15 min walk from the convention center.

It's a fun time, environment, and place! It's huge, would be great for a large party, and has a large outdoor space in the back as well. The food is a fun spin on Mexican tacos! Wouldn't go in thinking it's authentic street tacos but instead it has multiple layers and flavors to it. Very saucey which I like. You can also build your own! Loveeeee the horchata Great service, the team is super nice!

Food was amazing! Service was amazing and it wasn't overly busy! Outside seating available, flights of margaritas and queso! Tacos were also sooo good! And I am a fan of another local taco place ;)

This place really stuck out to me in a sea of so many food options in Grand Rapids. The wall murals here are what really caught my eye, followed by the unique setup. There is a large garage-door that also acts as a large window when pulled down. When the garage-like door is up, it allows a nice breeze to waft into the restaurant. There is an outdoor patio where you can sit and it is pet friendly. Staff is friendly, the area we were seating was clean, and the bathroom was well kept up with as far as cleanliness as well. The menu is fairly large with many taco, nacho, and bowl options. They also have a single item for their kids menu, which may seem limited but really a kid can get any item on the menu that isn't alcohol. The drink menu is also quite sizeable. They have margaritas, cocktails and even mocktails for those who like the taste of cocktails but don't drink alcohol. Also cans and bottles of various beers, White Claw seltzer, and a house white wine and a house red wine are available. I ended up going with a soda for my drink but the house horchata will definitely be ordered on my next visit. I did a build your own tacos with flour tortilla, Tex-mex ground beef, cilantro, onion and cheddar cheese. I got 2 tacos and ate them so quickly I forgot to get a photo. I will admit it can get rather crowded in here which set off my anxiety a bit, but there is a reason they are busy. Despite being anxious I finished my food in record time, which is a rarity for me. I'm excited to come back and try more of the menu.

Flights of Flavor - Margarita Flight

Stopped by with my SIL to partake in their Flights of Flavors offerings. We each got the margarita flight and the Jalapeno Margarita was my favorite! The Blood Orange came in close second. The margaritas are served in fairly big glasses, so it's worth getting if you like margaritas! Our server was super chill and didn't try to rush us out when they closed, which we really appreciated. We'll have to stop by again to try their food!

Before visiting Candado the first time I heard totally polarized reviews. People would either say it was The Best Place Ever, or that it was fine, but really just glorified T--- B---. I would definitely rate it on the higher end, if just for the margaritas and agua frescas!! I'm not a huge tequila fan, but the agua frescas are basically just sparkling water with any tequila flavoring. I had a prickly pear agua fresca, and it was absolutely delightful! I really think on future visits I'll just keep having these instead of alcohol. I also think it's really nice to have options like this available for people who don't drink. On my recent visit my friend and I split the fire-roasted elote dip with chips. It's pretty good, considering I'm not the biggest queso fan. For dinner I had the fire-roasted street bowl, which is a new limited time feature item. It was very good, though I asked for the cilantro-lime aoili on the side and it was definitely all over the bowl, as well as on the side; I think she thought I wanted extra when I actually wanted none. It was fine, but next time I'd probably say something. Previously I had tried a couple different tacos, and they were pretty good, but tacos aren't my favorite thing. I think the bowls are where it's at, so I'll stick to those going forward. If you like Mexican or Mexican-style food I would definitely recommend giving them a try! (And go for an agua fresca while you're there).

Tacos and chips

My +1 went for a morning walk to Candado Tacos. They're located outside of downtown GR across the river. We didn't have time to sit down, so we ordered to go. For starters, we got the traditional 1/2 order of chips with some green salsa. The amount of chips they give is incredible. Massive bag full of crispy tortilla chips that don't fall apart when dipping them. Green salsa verde nice and mild. We ordered 4 tacos. I'm from California, so these tacos were far more expensive than I'm used to. Some had a hard shell and some had that old Taco Bell style with a soft on the outside and hard center. Meat was flavorful, but I did think one of tacos was too sweet. The carnitas and pineapple one was a good kind of sweet.

I got The Vegan but I got beef in veg taco

I got the beef in veg taco I place with taco from this restaurant, but I got the beef instead of the veg in the taco. I don't like this restaurant. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Just take my money! Sooo good! The restaurant is painted in awesome murals with a really nice energy. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. I got the margarita flight- they make them with their own juice and yum! I had white peach, blood orange and prickly pear. We split an appetizer and 3 tacos. Very filling for two people. Bad Habit steak taco was literally the best American style taco I've had! Cant wait to go back for more!

Honestly it was an incredible location for a space and had such a great vibe inside. My best friend is a regular at the restaurant and we're hoping to see them more in smaller capacities like when we saw them at the Fulton St. Market. Overall, the food was really good. I like the concept of fast-casual dining without the need to have a server. I think it allows things to feel more casual and allowed for me to be more willing to eat there (obviously in other circumstances lol). I got the horchata hot cakes with some of the papas with ghost sauce. I thought the pancakes were GREAT and more than worth it for the price. I was surprised how large and fluffy they were. The flavor was great without being too sweet and none of the flavors being too overpowering. My friends got the breakfast sandwiches and chaichata drinks and absolutely loved them. My friend loved her drink so much she got two within the span of us eating. I know it's a hard time for local businesses but I'm hoping there are more ways we can still see them around.

Different from the last time I was here but we were told to find a seat upon entering and that when we were ready, we could order our food at the counter. I looked over their menu and found lots of good breakfast taco options, the breakfast burrito I have heard is great, but what really caught my attention was the biscuits and gravy. I was feeling quite ravenous this morning and got the full order for $11 and a side of bacon. They had a table close to the entrance with extra menus, clean cups, water jugs, hot sauces, silverware and napkins. Seemed like a help-yourself vibe which I grabbed everything we would need for our meal. Our food was brought to us rather quickly and my bf ordered the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs and sausage. He told me it tasted so good and he loved that he could make his own tacos with his food. He let me try one of the hashbrown rounds and it was perfectly crispy! My biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. The biscuits were so fresh and the gravy had a really nice and comforting flavor to it. You could get chorizo and mushrooms in your gravy but i went with a traditional sausage for my protein. My bacon on the side came in a tiny dish but I ate all four pieces haha. Once we finished, there were some bus bins under the same table with the silverware, we placed all our dirty dishes there and cleaned up after ourselves before leaving. I honestly felt so content leaving there and can't wait to return. I really appreciate the ambiance in there with the beautiful plant life, the lights on the ceiling, and cool decor in general. The staff was also SO NICE! Wins everywhere. I also noticed people coming in for takeout which is good to know in case I don't feel like dining in some morning. Please check this place out sometime if you're in the mood for some really good breakfast that doesn't break your bank account.

This was my second visit, and once again, the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. That said, it was a busy Friday night, so keep that in mind. We had a 7:15 reservation and were seated in the back corner near a couple of large parties -- same spot I was placed last time, which is kind of a bummer because the bar area looked way more fun and lively. It took about 30 minutes to get our drinks, and then our food came out almost immediately after, which made the pacing feel a bit off. Our server was hustling, but strangely didn't seem to have a ton of tables. That said, the staff was friendly, the margarita flight was a great value, and the tacos hit the spot for a snacky dinner. The overall atmosphere is super cute and chill. I landed on 3.5/5 stars -- there's definitely room for redemption. The server did mention they have a weekday happy hour, and that might be the move to really get the best experience here. I'll give it another shot!

The first red flag was that I made a reservation for the patio, which was completely ignored when I arrived. From there, things didn't improve. Our waitress was absent for most of the meal; we waited over an hour just for drinks (which were underwhelming), another hour to place our food order, and about an hour and a half for the guac we ordered. There were also a few moments of unprofessional and uncomfortable communication during the visit that didn't help the overall experience. Overall, our table felt ignored the entire time, and the lack of attention really affected the experience. I've had a good visit here in the past, which makes this one even more disappointing. That's honestly the only reason this is a 2-star review instead of 1.

Service was quick, efficient, and everything came out to order. The food was good. We tried a protein bowl, a couple tacos, and a three buds dip trio. The Street Corn dip is amazing, but neither of us were fans of the dirty queso. There was a single piece of chicken in it, which was huge, just not super scoopable! Tacos were delicious. It's already summer at Condado, which also means $6 frozen margs! Of course, I had to indulge and the prickly pear lavender single-handedly will get me back to Condado all summer. My fiancé was eager to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs, so we were delighted to see that there were screens playing popular events and a couple shows to enjoy over dinner. We went for a family dinner on a Sunday with a group of seven, including two kids, and had a great experience from start to finish. Kids eat free on Sundays, which was such a nice surprise, and the kids' menu is generous with great options--an entrée, a side, and a drink. My husband and I also enjoyed flight night, which was a lot of fun. I tried the strawberry, prickly pear lavender, and harvest pear margaritas. They were all very good--while the prickly pear lavender sounded better than it tasted for me personally, it was still enjoyable. One of my favorite things about Condado is the customization. Their signature creations are great, but being able to build a taco exactly how I want it is my favorite part. And I could honestly live off their corn salsa--it's so good and always a must-have! The restaurant was super clean and not very busy when we visited, so we were seated right away and our food came out quickly. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, especially with our energetic little ones. It was also the first time our parents had eaten at Condado, and they loved it--they're already talking about going back to try more tacos and dips. We had such a great experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend this location!
