This is a great place to get together with friends, or to bring out of town guests, because it is so vibrant, and there is something for everyone on the menu. My order was supposed to be ready at 635pm. I got there at 630 and waited until 658pm to get my order. I asked the hostesses a couple times if there was an estimated time it would be ready and they said "no idea" and acted like there was nothing they could do. I stood there watching orders come out for pickup at 7:02pm, 6:58pm, etc all show up. Yet mine, that was promised at 635pm was still not ready when those were coming out. This location has terrible options for parking to pick up orders so it was extremely annoying having to wait that long after the scheduled pickup time. Worst of all, when I got home, our order wasn't even correct! We had two bud boxes with two tacos in each one. My wife had two of the same tacos in here's even though she ordered two different ones. Mine had some sort of brisket taco in it instead of the chicken one I ordered. AND the tacos and queso were very cold. So I don't know what was going on with this location and this order but it was a complete disaster and major letdown. I even tipped a few dollars on the to go order, when I placed it, only to be severely let down on all fronts by the staff and food. read more

I've "Condado-ed" in Columbus, OH and Indianapolis, IN in the last 10 years, and both were four-star experiences. Therefore, I was expecting something similar from this Grand Rapids location. I was pleasantly surprised that this Condado brought their A-game. The service and drink + food quality were 5/5. Our bartender was attentive and made a lovely spicy margarita. The two vegetarian options were spot-on. Both had nice heat and were packed with fillings yet also didn't spill out with each bite. Also, I love how the two shells are glued with either queso or guacamole so that it can be vegan-accessible. unfortunately i was hangry when i arrived so being told there was no guac hurt a little more than usual. the chips were cold and desperately needed salt. it looks like the salt was all at the bottom of the chip basket which was unfortunate. i also didn't love the tomatillo salsa but i just think it was a poor choice on my end. without the guac i was thrown off. i wish we would have tried the house salsa instead. the thai chili tofu was really good but overall the burrito was pretty dry without a creamy component. the only creamy vegan option is guac and unfortunately they were out. i thought the food was very reasonably priced. just didn't hit for me. i do love that the menu is very clearly labeled with vegan, vegetarian, etc. - so so helpful read more

This was the second time I went to eat at Condado Tacos. The first time, I thought the tacos were fine, but was expecting more because people would often rave about this place. Well, I went here a second time and got two tacos: Lucy's Fire (a chicken taco) and Braised and Confused (a brisket taco). And bowza! They were so good!! It was such a pleasant surprise, and goes to show you that it's best to go to the same place a couple times to to make a proper review. Lucy's Fire had a nice kick to it, and I thought the other ingredients like lettuce, onions, cilantro, etc really complimented well with the way they cooked the chicken. They tasted fresh and I liked the crispy nature of the veggies. Braised and Confused was my favorite though. The brisket was very juicy and flavorful (I'm trying not to drool as I'm typing this) and I liked how hot it was when I ate it. I'd get this one again, I most definitely would recommend this one! This place really stuck out to me in a sea of so many food options in Grand Rapids. The wall murals here are what really caught my eye, followed by the unique setup. There is a large garage-door that also acts as a large window when pulled down. When the garage-like door is up, it allows a nice breeze to waft into the restaurant. There is an outdoor patio where you can sit and it is pet friendly. Staff is friendly, the area we were seating was clean, and the bathroom was well kept up with as far as cleanliness as well. The menu is fairly large with many taco, nacho, and bowl options. They also have a single item for their kids menu, which may seem limited but really a kid can get any item on the menu that isn't alcohol. The drink menu is also quite sizeable. They have margaritas, cocktails and even mocktails for those who like the taste of cocktails but don't drink alcohol. Also cans and bottles of various beers, White Claw seltzer, and a house white wine and a house red wine are available. I ended up going with a soda for my drink but the house horchata will definitely be ordered on my next visit. I did a build your own tacos with flour tortilla, Tex-mex ground beef, cilantro, onion and cheddar cheese. I got 2 tacos and ate them so quickly I forgot to get a photo. I will admit it can get rather crowded in here which set off my anxiety a bit, but there is a reason they are busy. Despite being anxious I finished my food in record time, which is a rarity for me. Stopped by with my SIL to partake in their Flights of Flavors offerings. We each got the margarita flight and the Jalapeno Margarita was my favorite! The Blood Orange came in close second. Bigger than typical street tacos, 3 was a heavy lunch portion but it was worth it. I chose steak, chicken and pork because I wanted a well rounded opinion and each of them popped with layers of flavor. We also grabbed a side of street corn to split and it was a sizable portion for 2. Total lunch bill for 2 was just over $30. I could grab lunch here every day of the week. What a cool place! Love the decor and the unique (and delicious!) food and drink. Came during happy hour so the tacos are $1 off. Tacos are HUGE, they're almost like a burrito cut in half! Baja shrimp was my favorite. Shrimp is cooked super well. 2 filled me up. I also tried the Bad Habit taco which was also good. I love how they put the soft and hard shells together; it adds some nice crunch. I also got a house marg which was $6 during happy hour. Had the option of a sugar or salt rim which was nice. Before visiting Candado the first time I heard totally polarized reviews. People would either say it was The Best Place Ever, or that it was fine, but really just glorified T--- B---. I would definitely rate it on the higher end, if just for the margaritas and agua frescas!! I'm not a huge tequila fan, but the agua frescas are basically just sparkling water with any tequila flavoring. I had a prickly pear agua fresca, and it was absolutely delightful! I really think on future visits I'll just keep having these instead of alcohol. I also think it's really nice to have options like this available for people who don't drink. On my recent visit my friend and I split the fire-roasted elote dip with chips. It's pretty good, considering I'm not the biggest queso fan. For dinner I had the fire-roasted street bowl, which is a new limited time feature item. It was very good, though I asked for the cilantro-lime aoili on the side and it was definitely all over the bowl, as well as on the side; I think she thought I wanted extra when I actually wanted none. It was fine, but next time I'd probably say something. Previously I had tried a couple different tacos, and they were pretty good, but tacos aren't my favorite thing. I think the bowls are where it's at, so I'll stick to those going forward. If you like Mexican or Mexican-style food I would definitely recommend giving them a try! My +1 went for a morning walk to Candado Tacos. They're located outside of downtown GR across the river. We didn't have time to sit down, so we ordered to go. For starters, we got the traditional 1/2 order of chips with some green salsa. The amount of chips they give is incredible. Massive bag full of crispy tortilla chips that don't fall apart when dipping them. Green salsa verde nice and mild. We ordered 4 tacos. I'm from California, so these tacos were far more expensive than I'm used to. Some had a hard shell and some had that old Taco Bell style with a soft on the outside and hard center. I had a great experience here. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant. The pineapple margarita was not too sweet and very refreshing. My friend and I ordered chips with the half portions of pineapple guacamole and elote queso (could have a bit more elote). Both were nice size portions and very tasty. The chips were delicious and had a slight sweet flavor. The menu is huge with specialty tacos. I was a bit overwhelmed and opted for the bowl with the rice and bean base. Tequila lime steak, pickled onions, lettuce, queso, and chipotle honey salsa (good amount of heat/smoke). I was not disappointed! I'm giving Condado Tacos a 5 star "great" rating because... it was great! I went in for a preview the day before their grand opening and tried some tacos and queso. The space is large with plenty of room for social distancing while restaurants are currently at 25% capacity for dine in. They also have a large patio in the back. The vibe inside is a fun and funky with dark walls covered in graffiti style murals. Lots of Instagrammable vibes going on! Our server was super sweet and helpful! The menu consists of chips and dips, tacos, nachos, sides, and bowls. They will have tequila, margaritas, beer, and wine. We started with the half order of Dirty Queso that has chicken, black beans, onions, and dirty sauce. The half order was enough to share between two people. The chips were super fresh and crunchy and not too salty. The queso was good but I think we'd try a different one next time. It just wasn't anything super special. The buffalo chicken queso sounds amazing! The taco menu was a little overwhelming but I wanted to try one beef option and one chicken. They also have a pulled pork taco, chorizo, and a few non-meat options. The build your own section of the menu was too much for me to handle so I went with the "Taco Suggestions" and ordered a Bad Habit and Up in Smoke taco. My boyfriend got the Blue Dream and Bubba Kush. The tacos are really unique here because they have several options that use double decker shells! You know, like at Tbell. But way better. I loved that! Also, these tacos are really big. I got super full eating two! All the ingredients were fresh and tasty! The tacos came out half wrapped in foil which definitely helped with ease of eating but is a little concerning for sustainability as I doubt they are able to recycle this foil. Just a note. They did provide paper straws, though. Anyway, on to the tacos! I tried some of all of them and the Bubba Kush and Blue Dream were my favorites. The Bad Habit and Up in Smoke both had a sweet ingredient that wasn't my favorite - just because I prefer savory 100% of the time! The flavors were good otherwise. The Bubba Kush was full of juicy pulled pork and a bit of BBQ sauce. I would've expected this one to be sweet based on the description but it wasn't as sweet as the others. The Blue Dream is similar to a taco you'd get at Taco Bell in terms of the ingredients, but executed much better with high quality ingredients. Overall I am really excited about this place because they're using some unique ingredient combinations and the tacos are delicious! Again they're really big so you could have one for a snack, two for a meal, or three if you're starving (according to our server - and I agree). Plus they are all $5 or less per taco - which blew my mind. I feel like those prices are crazy low for this amount of food. Definitely looking forward to some margarita flights on the patio here in warmer weather! read more

Fun atmosphere, vibrant decor, great space - they have a great indoor setting, and they gave a very large outdoor patio in the back, along with some heaters for when it's cooler! Decent drinks, however you should definitely AVOID the House Margarita. It comes from a premixed keg, is Neon yellow in color (see photo) and tastes terrible. The fruit margaritas are good if you like fruit-they are legitimately like puree that's added in. However, it doesn't seem like there is any liquor in there! The food is pretty good - it's hit or miss for me on the tacos. Some of them are good and some of them are just wayyyyy too Americanized and overdone. There's definitely nothing authentic about any of them. The chips and salsa/queso/guac has been good every time I've gotten it, though! I have been to Condado several times now and each time has been amazing! I love the overall vibe of the restaurant, and during the summer they have a really nice outdoor seating area. The service is always very good, the servers are kind and helpful, and really know the menu so they can make good recommendations. They are definitely busier on the weekends, but usually you can still get a table within 30-45 minutes. They have a wide variety of vegetarian and gluten free options here (which I love) and they outline them very clearly on the menu. They have a large selection of entree tacos, and you can also build your own which I like to do. The past few times I have been here I have ordered the Skinny Margarita (sometimes flavored, sometimes not, but either way it tastes fantastic). I have tried a rice and beans taco, the jackfruit, and the portobellos and the jackfruit is BY FAR my favorite. I get that on a flour shell, with the queso blanco, lettuce, tomato, avocado ranch, and verde salsa. Literally one of my favorite tacos I have ever had! Every time I come to Condado I leave extremely happy and satisfied with the overall experience.
