    Chicken fajitas
    Lauren F.

Thoroughly enjoyed this new Mexican spot that we heard about from a Facebook group. Small restaurant, nice sized menu. The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa were delicious. The prices are fair. Housed in what appears to be a (very) former Taco Bell, the space is bright and inviting. My dining companion's birria pizza resembled more of a quesadilla. It was FULL of meat and the consommé was top notch. The fajitas were good, not great- bland for my taste and what I'm used to from TexMex. They use cucumber in their pico de gallo which is fantastic. We will be back!

Pretty solid Mexican food! The nachos are great and plentiful, though I would recommend requesting more cheese if you like a decent amount of cheese! They gave me a ton of meat. The chicken tortilla soup is so hearty and delicious! I prefer birria tacos from another spot, but these are solid!

Very cute place. Went Mardi Gras day and it was surprisingly busy. Only one young man to wait on the entire dining room but he was great. My husband ordered the shrimp enchiladas with the salsa verde from the à la carte menu and he said the were just meh. I forgot the name of what I ordered - it was pork, steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, smoked sausage, cactus, some sort of pepper, and cheese along with peppers & onions - all grilled, and served in some sort of broth in a big stone bowl along with beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream, & pico on the side. The main dish was amazing; I never touched the beans & rice. I ordered the portion for one person, my husband and I shared, and I brought home leftovers. I would definitely go back again.

I really enjoy taco daddy's menu as well as the people who work there. I used to go to El Paso, but now taco daddy's is my favorite.

Food was good, parking could be better! Chips and salsa were good. Lots of things to choose from and drink specials.

A few years ago I had been to La Tia in Metairie, and it left a serious impression. What stuck with me most were the craft cocktails...creative, clever, and a little bit mischievous. I still remember one in particular: a Mexican-inspired cocktail with mezcal and beet juice that somehow managed to taste like summer decided to take a vacation south of the border. It was the kind of drink that makes you pause mid-sip and say, "Okay... whoever thought of this deserves a raise." Somehow the place drifted off my radar over time. But when the craving for Mexican food hit, it popped right back into my head. I was excited to bring my son and daughter-in-law since they had never been. Unfortunately... the reunion didn't exactly go as planned. Two things hit me immediately while looking over the menu. First: the craft cocktails were gone. Not "different." Not "updated." Just... gone. Replaced with the same drinks you see in every other Mexican restaurant. Second: the prices nearly made me spit out the water I hadn't even ordered yet. $6 for a Corona. $18 for a basic burrito with fries. $10 for a kids plate over chicken tenders and some fries. And not the old La Tia burritos either...the ones I remembered piled high with rich molé, bright verde sauces, and layers of flavor that made you wonder if you should be taking notes. Nope. Now we're talking about a plain flour tortilla with some ground meat inside, no sauce, and a side of what looked suspiciously like freezer-aisle French fries. For eighteen dollars. My daughter-in-law ordered the fajitas, and honestly... they were rough. Thin strips of overcooked meat that looked like they had taken a brief vacation in a plastic bag before hitting the grill...served on a plate. Lately I've gotten into the habit of pulling up Yelp photos to compare dishes from past years, and I did exactly that. I found a photo of the same fajitas from about three years ago...big, juicy steak pieces, sizzling on cast iron and full of life. What we got looked like it came from a completely different restaurant. To be fair, my shrimp tacos were actually pretty good. Nicely cooked shrimp, decent flavor, and probably the lone bright spot of the night. But overall, it felt like the La Tia I loved had quietly packed up and left the building. The elevated Mexican food? Gone. The rich sauces? Gone. The inventive cocktails that made the bar worth sitting at? Also gone. In their place: food that feels pulled from a bag... at prices that feel pulled from a luxury menu. It's a tough thing when a restaurant you once loved loses its spark. But sadly, this visit felt less like a reunion and more like running into an old friend who has completely changed--and not for the better. As much as I hate to say it, I don't see myself returning to La Tia anytime soon. Turns out the only thing that stayed spicy... was the price tag.

Decided to sit at the bar so I can get in and out quickly and have a little margarita. My server/bartender wasn't very attentive at all. I had to get his attention a few times for service because he was in his whole the whole time. I ordered a margarita that to me was okay, but it tasted much better after I asked to have a flavor added to it. I think it was hibiscus. I only got 2 tacos. The fish and shrimp. The fish was a little bland for my taste but the sauces and add ons saved it. This was an okay experience, I'm writing this place off. I plan to give them another shot and try some of their other menu items.

Once I ordered, the food and drinks came out quickly. The 'unlimited' mimosas actually cap at 5, which is fine, but the mix they use cheapens the drink, and the glasses weren't the cleanest. The birria and grits were good (about a 7/10), though I think the pre-shredded Mexican blend cheese on top took away from the dish. A traditional white cheese would have worked better. The birria tacos were tasty, though. The bathrooms could use attention as there were no paper towels, which makes me wonder what employees do after washing their hands. Overall, it was a good experience and definitely cost-efficient. With a few tweaks to the drinks and presentation, this place could easily go from a 3-star to a 4- or 5-star brunch spot. I'll be back to try the tacos and check out the unlimited margaritas.

I have never had a dry Tres Leches. The cake tasted half moist, no condensed milk flavor at all, the strawberry added a little flavor, otherwise it tastes like a cheap cake with whipped cream and a strawberry on top. I still love their churros and other menu items but this was not for me. If they improve the recipe I might try it again but for $8 it was not worth the buy.
