Bland meats and salsas with the worst chips I have ever had and the queso is just melted velvetta type cheese with zero flavor at all. So jonesing for a burrito and my husband was at Home Depot in Eagle so he grabbed me one to go. I like this place because you can make the burrito the way you like it. I had a carnitas, black bean and rice burrito with Pico de Gallo and sour cream on the side. The burrito made it to Star warm and was tasty. The carnitas was a bit dry but I don't like a soggy burrito. The salsas are made in house and range from medium to hot and they were tasty. Taco del Mar is mostly a takeout restaurant with a few outdoor tables. Glad to have them as an option. read more

We were here in Boise on a short trip, and wandered around one day checking out local thrift shops. When it got to be time for lunch, we spotted Taco Del Mar nearby and took a chance. There were several construction workers there eating lunch, but otherwise it wasn't busy. The staff were friendly, explained the abundant choices, and I ordered an enchilada plate while my wife got two tacos with beans. Our orders turned out to be both generous and tasty. Plenty of salsa available. It turned out to have been a good choice, although by accident. We would return there, no question. read more

Hands down the worst food I have had.. the old carnitas was cold and dry with absolutely no flavor other than salt. The produce was not fresh and my tortilla was like styrofoam. One bite of the shredded beef tacos (extra charge fyi) and then they went straight into the trash. The ground beef tacos were spit back out in fear of food poisoning. I never write reviews, in fact this is my first and I have had some bad food especially spending my career in the construction industry eating off of good ol' roach coaches (food trucks). I would prefer that Mexican food or Taco Bell over tacos Del Mar, stay away from this place. read more

I ended up at Taco Del Mar for lunch after one of my friends confused it for Del Taco! I arrived to this location around 2pm on a Friday afternoon. As I was walking into the restaurant I noticed a sign advertising fish taco Friday and I almost turned around, I'm glad I didn't (I can't eat fish & I hate the smell). I expected to smell fish as soon as I walked through the door, but instead it smelled delicious! The restaurant was very clean and I was happily greeted by a smiling woman. I told her that I needed a minute because it was my first time coming and she explained the menu, ordering process. & how the food is freshly made in store daily. I ordered: Beef taco salad 3 crunchy tacos I really enjoyed the taco salad. It not only tasted great, but it looked good! All of the layers maintained their integrity and didn't become a sloppy mess by the time I got home. The lettuce even remained crisp! My friend also liked the tacos. They had plenty of meat and toppings. They smear the sour cream onto the inside of the taco shell prior to adding the meat so you get sour cream in every bite. I wish all taco places did this. Overall, I would eat here again. From the other reviews it seems as though the service can be kinda hit or miss, but my experience was a positive one. read more

Ehhh...we stopped by on a whim. Not really impressed. We have tried other places with this same concept where they make your food as you order and you walk along with them as it's assembled. It wasn't bad but for my taste it was lacking something. That being said the workers were friendly and everything was fresh. I ordered their chicken salad. I will say my favorite thing was that they had a fried flour tortilla for the salad bowl. Just something about that which is fun. I just wanted more flavor from the salad itself. I think it was missing a dressing to tie it all together maybe. It wasn't dry as it had pico and beans and juices from the chicken. Husband had the burrito bowl and he said it was ok. First time I have been disappoint here. Went with the usual crunchy Baja Shrimp tacos, and the shrimp is incredibly dry and flavorless. If I weren't so freaking hungry from a long mountain bike ride, I'd have driven all the way back to Eagle to have them remade, and I am not really the person to do that sort of thing. The very first time we came here, we were excited because they had "shrimp" listed on the window as one of the proteins. But they didn't have any, and they no longer offered it. Dad & I have been here a few times since and typically get the mondo burritos. Their pulled pork is nice, but the fish is really lame. Our last mondo (which is LARGE) burrito had only two skimpy pieces of fish in it. The two identical pieces of fish were obviously processed frozen things from god-knows-where. They weren't hot and weren't heated for our burrito either. They charge $1 extra for sour cream and/or guacamole. Other places charge extra for guac, too, so that's not a huge surprise. But sour cream? One thing we like at other burrito places is the corn salsa, but that isn't available here either. Service is pretty friendly and the restrooms are nice. The interior is fun and beachy -- even has a palm frond-covered umbrella inside. We'll go again if we have a coupon. Otherwise, we'll probably just go home for lunch. read more

The great thing about Taco Del Mar is that when you are standing there and they are fixing your food (just the way you want by the way,) it's like they are your best buddy and personal chef. They get done and the next person steps up and they treat them the same. For a moment you think, Hey! That's my best buddy and personal chef! LOL It's all good. We got things our way (with a smile) and 5$ off because our card was full of punches. I actually got my taco salad made by the owner. She did a great job and should give herself a raise. Their locations might as well be in Iowa; as they are not convenient to get to. The logical question would be 'why did I come here?' I had a groupon which made the prices more fitting. I couldn't see willingly paying full price for this bland and flavorless food. So why the two stars one may wonder? Service was excellent; but service alone can't carry more than two stars in my opinion. I will most likely not return. I wish I could do 4.5 stars. Taco Del Mar doesn't quite deserve that though, so let me break it down: Review of Taco Del Mar (in General): 4 stars. It's a little pricier than most similar places, but the food is much higher quality. I really recommend the "Get Wet" option, where for a small extra fee they put enchilada sauce and cheese on your burrito - it is amazing. It's that enchilada sauce that got me and most of my friends hooked on this place. And every day there is a special - go on Monday for double punch day, and get double the punches on your stamp card; it'll help offset the slightly too expensive price. The major reason why TDM gets 4/5 stars is because they charge extra for everything. Want sour cream? That's extra. Want guac? That's extra. Want enchilada sauce? Extra. For their prices, they could easily include these things. Or at least only charge if people wanted extra. Review of this specific store: 5 stars. This particular Eagle location has been a regular visit for me over the last 3-4 years, and they've always been wonderful. Kind and helpful staff, spotless and clean, quick service, and they work hard to make sure you're taken care of. If you're trying to find a Taco Del Mar in the area to go to... choose this one. read more

Dirty... Dirty....Dirty..... after I ordered my food I really contemplated eating it. The staff were friendly I'll give them that.

We tried their food and instantly loved it! Two days later we ordered a "taco bar" for (6). We picked up the box of goodies and didn't notice, until we got home, that there were missing items. When we called the store, the young man that helped us was very polite and apologetic, he had located the missing items in the cooler. He was unable to bring the items to us as there was limited staff on duty. We were unable to return to the store (30 minute drive each way and our guests had arrived already). He took our name and number to advise his manager and arrange comps. The owner called an hour later (from the airport, having just returned to town) and offered to bring the missing items out to us. We told her that was not necessary as our guests were there and we had substituted for the missing items. She was truly apologetic and sent us gift coupons for nearly the entire amount of our order! The food was absolutely delicious and we plan on returning...often!! read more

Great daily deals! Prices are very decent for the amount of food you get. The meats are real and there are lots of healthy options including gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and vegetarian.
