We haven't been to Taco Del Sol in years, finally managed to catch them open and stopped for mission supreme burritos! They were outstanding!! Lots of meat, great flavor, well made. The SERVICE left something to be desired. We arrived at 6:45pm, knowing they close at 7:30. I believe they were already closing things up. There was a broom out and they needed to bring out serving spoons and open meat and beans. They young man who "greeted" us didn't make us feel welcome and the young lady who finished and rang up my order left to help others without handing me the bag. I reached across the counter to get it because at that point I certainly didn't want to impose on her. I would have felt bad about making them "open" the shop again, but there were at least 6 folks that followed us . Again,the food was great but don't expect friendly service!. read more

They have decent food at good prices. I've never tried their tacos, but their burritos are worth going for. For $7 you can get a very filling burrito, drink not included. The restaurant has a young, hipster vibe to it, with music playing as you walk in. I've never seen it very busy, and the last time I was in there, there wasn't a single other customer in there besides me. I can't attest to their tacos, but they sure can make up some very tasty burritos! read more

It is my 2nd favorite Mexican place in Missoula. My favorite thing about the joint is how much food they give you. You are always getting a good bang for your buck going here, and if you need a quick lunch break during work to get something to fill you up for a while, this is a pretty good place to go. Whenever I go, I get a huge burrito, even when I don't ask for one. That's a big plus that the other venues don't really offer. However, the flavors are a bit lack-luster. There isn't much to anything at Taco Del Sol, except the Pinto Beans. The Pinto Beans are well seasoned, taste amazing, and are just awesome. However, other than that, Taco Del Sol doesn't have much to offer. TL;DR, great for a quick lunch break, but not perfect. read more

This is how good there customer service is.....I walked in and instantly got told to cover my nose up with my ultra trusted mask by the girl at the front. I almost walked out because of the snappy way she told me, however I perservered and asked for a to-go menu. She told me NO, they don't have one before I could even finish my sentence. I then was going to ask if there was a menu on-line, although I just walked out. Why don't the owners understand how important it is not to have snotty people running the front? Not only was she rude, she and another co-worker decided it would be cool to rubber neck me while I got into my car, and even drive away. Is there a dress code for this place or where they just being caddy-no-manner girls? If we would have liked there food, we would have hit up this spot e few times a week. Although, now when somebody brings up this place, all I will do is thrash on them. read more

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me about my lackluster experience and was a real standup guy about it! He explained the mishap and has offered to make it right....that goes a long way in my book, and I appreciate it. I found TDS while visiting from out of town. I'm gonna go in hard here for a moment, but I feel justified, because some basic moves weren't executed to make this burrito tasty AF. For starters, the burrito was cold and had to be warmed up in the microwave--already off on a bad foot. Second, the tortilla was a huge tortilla perfect for a burrito, but it wasn't grilled to get those nice cripsy brown spots--you know what I'm talking about. Third, and the most taste bud egregious offense of all, was that the shrimp was boiled and not seasoned--WTF. Seriously, why is this shrimp butt naked and not cooked in garlic, chili powder, lime, cilantro, onion, jalapenos, etc!?!?! This isn't anything fancy, but pretty good for something quick. The steak burrito was yummy, especially with adding the corn salsa.

While I have been to all the TdS locations, this is the one I frequent most. Gotta say, I feel like the staff here are the BEST. Everything on the menu is superb, I typically order the veggie burrito with white sauce and it's done perfectly every time I do. Huge portions (I've recently switched from the 14" burrito to the 12", and I can't even eat all of that!) and very reasonable pricing. Employees are always courteous and are as prompt as they can be when it gets busy in the evening. My only wish is they'd light the place up inside a bit more, seems downright gloomy on dark winter days. Small gripe, still will be back every time I'm in the mood for the best quick-mex in town. read more

I went to Taco Del Sol today and was very disappointed. I ordered the 12 inch Mission Supreme Burrito. My burrito was half made when I asked about the sour cream because I didn't see the woman put it on my burrito. It was at that point she informed me "we're out of sour cream". Unacceptable...Albertsons is right across the parking lot. Go buy some sour cream. If it's on your menu as being in the burrito, I shouldn't have to pay full price if you leave ingredients out. read more

Interesting. Not bad but not great either. As an out of towner, I wanted my Mexican fix. Viva was closed so I chose to come here. California vibe meets your teenage son. Doesn't have the California vibe in spices or sauces. The white sauce for the fish tacos tastes like tartar sauce. If they put some cilantro and cumin in it, it would taste a tad bit more authentic. I will say the white sauce on my beans and rice dish was much better than the sauce on a chicken taco. Very friendly staff. Kudos. read more

I would rate it 5 star, but the grunge/skater decor, is something a 13 year old would do, a little short on comfort, with loud music, that makes visiting over lunch a challenge. Stopped at this location the other day for some lunch *para llevar* (to go). Pretty darn good. Line was a tad long, but moved fairly quickly. Staff was friendly, efficient, accommodating, and fun. Got a fish taco (lightly fried cod) and a Cubano-both were good. I'm a little snobby-ish with tacos- lived in the southwest for a combined 8 yrs. and spent a few months in Mexico. I was riding my bike when I stopped here and rode home before eating and tacos weren't really compromised. (I so wish places here would offer some more adventurous proteins-cabeza? Anyone? Sigh). I've only been in 3 times in the last year, but every time I stop by, they treat me like they know me. The customer service is outstanding - everyone is so friendly and fun - I almost joined in with all the employees singing along to the music.
