Been here a few time over the last year. Nothing special really about the restaurant look. Food is really decent. Service is normally ok. The only thing is the owner is a JERK! I want to use a worse word but I won't. This place is also like a sister restaurant to Rowdy's out on reserve. The husband runs Rowdy's and the wife runs this location. Both husband and wife aren't nice or even friendly. That really why the 3 stars. I'd much rather give my business to nice, friendly and grateful people who treat others well. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon, I got sat down immediately. I went with the carne asada plate and one hard shell taco with shredded beef. I started off with the shredded beef taco. The taco shell was already falling apart and the amount of lettuce and cheese on it was a little bit too much. I ended up just eating the shredded beef after by itself because it was good all on its own. The carne asada plate was the highlight. The meat was grilled perfectly. The rice and beans were also good. I requested some flour tortillas to go with the plate. Service by the woman who initially sat me down and checked on me periodically was also good. The food came out relatively quick and everything was good. This was one of the few Mexican restaurants I spotted in my time in Missoula, glad I came here for lunch to check it out. read more

I live in the southwest, and I know good Mexican food. This is my preferred Mexican restaurant when in Missoula. Great Service. Chips and salsa are good. The hotter salsa is even better. We had Carne Asada and Fish Tacos. Ample servings on big plates and leftovers at home the next day. Wish I could have had a Margarita, but wine margaritas don't do it for me. Pepsi products. My husband and I dined here a on Saturday afternoon. Our waitress was great but I ordered a burrito with skirt steak and received a chicken burrito. All fine, I'm laid back, I was going to eat it anyway. The chicken was charred and burnt, the flavor was just horrible. I took two bites and sent it back assuming it would just be taken off the bill. I was wrong, I was charged the full price of 20.99 for something I barely touched. When we said something to our nice waitress she understandably grabbed the manager. This is where the problem began. She rolled her eyes when we politely asked for it to be taken off the bill and reluctantly settled on giving us 10 dollars off. Food is mediocre and management is well.....not great. The service was great and the person who took my order was very nice and friendly.( Brandy was her name) I ordered a combination plate ( chile relleno and enchilada) with sour cream and a Horchata . Great portions and awesome service characterize this traditional Montana Mexican joint. It's not Cali Mex, it's not Tex Mex, so it's not bursting with flavor, but it is solid Montana Mex. Beans were salted and larded just right. Rice was traditionally seasoned with Sazón giving it that authentic yellow color from achiote. Fajitas were tasty. We chose the Fiesta Fajitas with shrimp, chicken and beef. The only thing we would have changed was getting more shrimp (there were only 4) and having them tail off because, these are Fajitas we're talking about here. But this seems to be common now, leaving the tail on we find. Service was outstanding. Fast, attentive and hospitable. Horchata and salsa were legit. Carona served ice cold with lime and a frozen glass for $2. We'll be back! read more

Two of us ordered the grande burrito. it looked wonderful. The restaurant had lots of customers. You could count the small grains of ground beef in it. It was loaded with quinoa or small grains of rice. Mom spread it out on her plate so the wait staff could see it. Also it was lukewarm. All of us had luke warm food. I did complain to the waitstaff. I told her I knew it wasn't her fault, so she got her full tip. She said she would let the cook know. That was the last communication. She really should have followed up. I guess their business is good enough they don't care about repeat customers. I talked everyone into going as mom had said she never liked the food. I won't ask her again, nor will I return. Went in for a mate lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered a margarita was told he could ONLY serve beer ( they have a FULL bar) so thinking he didnt know how I said Id take a shot. Again only told " beer" due to no bartender. So I ordered food and a beer. Then I look over and see a guy making margaritas at the bar! So I ask him and he says " margaritas yes, coctails no". Food comes. I ordered a chili relleno and chicken enchilada. The chicken is CANNED chicken inside enchilada. So food is not great , drinks apparently are non existent. Oh yeah and as I finish food I see a woman pouring SHOTS at the bar. I feel really discriminated against now. Maybe middle aged SWF's dont get alcohol there???which is sad cuz I am normally a great tipper cuz I know they work hard. But this place I will probably not return to. This barely passes as Mexican food. The food is just "Ok", but it's way overpriced and tiny portions. We literally left there insulted at having to pay such a high price for food that was bland and it's a poor representation of Mexican food. You do not get your money's worth here. read more

I come here often and after tonight this is my last time I eat here. I get the same order every time, just a basic burrito that comes with beans and rice on the side. Each time I get charged different (between $10-13 even that is price gauging!) not only that, I often get charged for a beef burrito so I pay for something I don't even get. I have mentioned this issue to someone before. Tonight I got charged freaking $18!!!! I ordered a bean, rice, cheese burrito which comes with beans & rice on side. A new guy was there and he charged me for a beef burrito and said he had to charge me for a side of rice because i wanted rice inside the burrito..LIKE SERIOUSLY?!? I tried to tell him I order this often and never get charged that much. I will definitely be speaking to a manager and demanding a refund. read more

Was looking forward to trying Mexican food here in Missoula. Husband and I moved here from Los Angeles so we know what good Mexican food is. Our expectations were not very high as we knew this place wasn't "authentic" Mexican. However, we were looking forward to some decent food. Gave 2 stars because service was good but food was poor. I ordered a taco combo plate and taco shells were obviously store bought. They broke into pieces. Never thought I would have to eat a taco with a fork before. Husband ordered fish tacos. I'd give three and a half stars if I could. My wife and I stayed in Missoula while on a motorcycle trip and wanted somewhere nearby our hotel to eat. We thought we'd give Fiesta En Jalisco a shot since we'd been wandering around the neighborhood already. It was 9:30 on a Monday night and the place was empty. However, we were still greeted warmly and promptly. Our food was served quickly. The place was clean and in good repair. My wife ordered a taco salad (a staple for her) and I had the chili colorado (which I order almost everywhere that serves it, like Johnny Depp does with carnitas in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, except I don't shoot the cook if it's too good). Portions were monstrous. No really, the plate I was presented could easily have been a hubcap from a Buick. The food was really just average, however. Rice was a bit bland, beans a bit pasty, but they'd probably been simmering in their pans for hours. The chili colorado was a bit more red chili powder flavor, lacking the infusion of bay leaf to which I'm accustomed. Not bad, though the meat was a little dry. Honestly, the place wasn't bad, and the staff was friendly. I'd like to try it again during a busier time when perhaps the rice and beans are fresher. read more

Back a few years ago, we used to order take-out from this location on an almost weekly basis, but not any more! I'm through! We made the mistake of trying them again this past week, ordering a fajita and a simple cheese enchilada, but the quality and quantity was just god-awful. The flavor of the beef and chicken in the fajita was stale and bland, the guacamole looked dark and old like a pile of vomit, even the tortilla chips were terrible! And the cost for those two items? If you are looking for a bang-for -your buck Mexican restaurant, this is your place. Walked in and order, sat immediately and had our food on our table in under 7 mins. Boom. Food was good enough for a repeat, simple and straight forwards. Their shredded chick was pretty good, steak wasn't bad and I didn't try the ground beef. Just your typical knock off mexican food. You know theres no way the owners go home, wrap shredded beef in a tortilla, slap sauce all over it and call it a burrito. The prices are quite rediculus 16 for mole? 15 for a burrito. 12.50 for drenched tortillas. Saw menuedo but i doubt its made fresh. The service was fast. Hopefully theres more of a taqueria style stand or something in town where they put traditionality and love into every serving. Went here on a referral. Will not be back. read more
