Tried Taco Grotto for the first time and had a great experience! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, curly fries, and a root beer float, and everything was really good. My boyfriend got the asada fries and an orange freeze, he said the orange freeze tasted just like an orange creamsicle. Our total came out to around $40, which felt reasonable for everything we got. Had me waiting 20 minutes for an order of cheese fries they ran out of nacho cheese and didn't tell me. They sprinkled chopped up cheese and said they'd heat up cold cheese and couldn't refund my order! I call them "home" tacos, because they are like the ones I make at home: seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce and cheese, tomatoes and a shell that is a fried corn tortilla; not a premade taco bell type shell nor a soft taco truck style. Don't get me wrong, I also love taco truck authentic style tacos, but I can get those all over the Valley. I usually get a couple or three when I have time to make the short detour passing through from 152. This last time I also got a bacon cheeseburger...I am glad I did! It was delicious! Holy SMOKES!!!! That double cheese burger had me rockin and a rollin!!! They somehow missed my car in line while in the drive thru, so they gave me a large fry instead of a small. The burger was great, and to be quiet honest, this burger would probably be my top option for a last meal (if my auntie couldn't make her world famous gumbo). I mean HOLY TOLEDO!! Not too bad. I'm not gonna lie. I had very very low expectations for this place, as I have had some terrible experiences with carne asada in small towns. Pork is my go to when mystery meat is suspected in a place like this, but I ended up getting the shredded beef tamale and asada fries. They were both very delicious, and mystery meat free. Very nice presentation on the food, with sour cream and fresh veggies on top. I'd say it's worth trying. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Minus one star for no carnitas. If you are called "taco grotto" you should have some bomb carnitas or al pastor for tacos. Not everybody likes beef or chicken all the time. read more

I Ordered a supreme burrito and Large drink the buritto had Little to no meat, and I kept chewing on fat pieces that I had to spit out. It was packed more with beans and rice and noooo flavor the onions were not grilled in the burrito and midway through I bit into something cold and it was COLESLAW!!! LOL WHAT?? that's a first. Coleslaw in a burrito? The Burrito does not come with salsa or tapatio or limes and I didnt bother to ask. A big let down since I thought it would be like a taco truck. They only carry fountain drinks so big let down if you want horchata. The large cup I ordered had more ice than soda I left thirsty and drank a water I had in my truck. The only thing good about this place is the cleanliness. I won't be coming back sorry, $10 is overpriced anyway. To the owners: My suggestion: hire a mexican-mexican in the kitchen. Only drive thru in town! I think it's owned by the same people who own Don's. The burgers are pretty similar (thin, greasy but plenty of LTO and a sturdy bun). I think most of the meat dishes are a little greasier than la ideal (the other Mexican place) but they're good. They double wrap their tacos, so you can actually split them up if you like. We like to order 2 soft carne asada tacos and split them into four. The meat is juicy and they use plenty of cilantro to garnish. And the tacos are only about a buck each! For a few bucks, you can get yourself a nice cheeseburger with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and spread as well as an extremely generous portion of French fries, and either a small milkshake or a large soft drink. Came here for dinner and we all ordered bacon cheese burgers. They were really good! The bacon was real crispy and the hamburger it's self was great. It wasn't a huge burger but it was perfect. Stopped here on a whim with the family and went in the drive through. I ordered a , a couple of tacos and a fishwich. Yes i did say a fishwich. The burger was so so .. Tacos were decent but the fishwich was absolutely horrid. As we were sitting in the drive trough you can see them popping food in the microwave. That's where i knew it was going to be bad. It's ok if your fries are cooked which is hardly ever and if you order a medium cheese fry you might want to get a receipt because they will give you a half empty small container and call it medium. The people there are kind of nice but the service is really slow and the prices are a bit high for partially uncooked food, especially if you don't get the size you paid for.
