Stopped here out of desperation on the drive home from vacation and was very pleasantly surprised. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is fantastic! Husband got a potato, bean, and cheese burrito. Tortillas were fresh, real, and HUGE! They looked so good I bought a second to eat plain-and I was not disappointed. This is a small eat in restaurant that has a drive thru and takes phone orders as well. It takes a few minutes to get your order because it's made fresh when ordered. We have eaten here a couple of times now and will continue to come back. The breakfast is really good. The tacos are more like burritos and have plenty of filling and They are the Perfect size. It feels like Abuelita's house when you come in. They have pictures of family and many of the local sports teams and organizations that they have sponsored. There is a TV in the corner also. The food is great! But every time the older woman works the drive thru, she upcharges. I get the same thing every time, but when she's working the window my total goes up by almost $3. What can I say about Taco Rico? This place was incredible. I was in the mood for some great real Mexican food and this place popped up on Yelp. I was really in the mood for tamales which everyone gushed about but when we arrived they were out. I wasn't disappointed however as they had a lot of great choices. The home made flour tortillas were on point and the menudo was amazing. They also had many other choices and you could just tell they were awesome by the smell. Always love to stop at Taco Rico when we're heading to Santa Fe and Colorado every summer. We drive the 2 hours from Austin at the crack of dawn, looking forward to a tasty and filling breakfast burrito to fuel us through the Texas panhandle. The tortillas are fresh and soft. Filling options are varied and all tasty. The salsa is fresh and generally on the spicy side, which I like. The prices are cheap. Have been here a few times and they have always seemed pricey, today I bought three bean, bacon and cheese burritos on all three there were only one piece of bacon and there was not much beans. the burritos looked pretty sad. I paid cash for my one burrito and the lady did not have change. She owed me about 85 cents. She just said I'll give it to you next time! What your a business you should have change. I went back and never got my change. Ya it's only 85 cents but what if they do this to several customers. Also you pay for extra salsa and they never put it in. When you go in to ask for it they look at you like you are not telling the truth! They are always trying to push food on you. And the prices are never the same. Would not recommend. read more
