I've had dinner and drinks at Providencia a couple of times and it has been consistently good. The Birria Enchiladas are excellent. Our waitress, Monica, was also excellent. She makes a fantastic Chambord Melt which is frozen margarita with chambord. I would definitely recommend having dinner and drinks here. read more

i ordered Loaded nachos from Providencia through door dash. I was very disappointed because I paid 20 dollars for a box of chips with hot sauce, queso, and cheese. i was very dissatisfied and when I called to let them know how misleading it was..my response was I tell everybody when they order here they need to add topping and pay for each one. Was told to have a nice day. When you are elderly and only order rarely it is very misleading because I have never just gotten chips, hot sauce and queso on loaded nachos. To me and probably most people loaded nachos usually has beans, meat cheese etc on them. LOADED! the ones I received were stripped nachos. Never again! read more

We ate there on Saturday night recently. Frankly the food was average at best. Server was very good and attentive to our needs. We added fajita chicken to our nachos and quesadilla and it was 1/4 to 1/2 inch cubes of chicken with little to no seasoning on it. They catered an event that I went to tonight and the food was amazing. I wasn't expecting much because of their Yelp rating, so I was really surprised at how good everything was. They served beef and chicken fajitas with all the sides, along with queso & chips. They also had trays with a variety of homemade desserts. The people sitting around me commented on much they enjoyed it too, so it wasn't just me. I wanted to leave a great review for them because they really earned it tonight! I've dined here twice. Both times were great experiences. Service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was clean and relaxing. The recipes are not your typical TexMex style. In fact, I thought they leaned more towards New Mexican, which I love. The decor is not what some folks apparently were expecting: there are no piñatas, sombreros, etc. hanging on the walls. Instead, it is a sleek, chic look which I think is a nice change from the typical Pancho's Buffet look that every other Mexican establishment has in town. If you're wanting a burrito supreme with cheese nachos, try Taco Bell. This restaurant serves Mexican dishes with a classier twist. I will definitely return. read more

Very fresh and flavorful! The downtown bistro was cooked to perfection. Vegetables were fresh and the potatoes had a great flavor. The seafood enchiladas were wonderful as well. Cilantro lime rice and beans complimented the dish very nicely. Looking forward to trying some other dishes. read more

First thing we hear as we get in is "are you here to work?" (Because of our skin tone? lol) - so not off to a great start. The ambience is overall ok, I wouldn't call it Mexican as the only thing that kinda reminds me of Mexico is the green on the walls and one big red square on one of the them, but if not by one big phrase in Spanish at the bottom, we might as well call the restaurant Bulgarian or Italian. The service was great, everyone was very attentive and caring. It did seem like sometimes waiters were all over the place, but I'd assume that was mostly because it was its opening day. The food was ok, but IMO, quite overpriced ($12 for nachos + $8 for beef strips) and the menu wasn't all that big (the menu was pretty much enchiladas or tacos). The flavor itself was not bad, but I would say is more Tex Mex than authentic Mexican. read more

What an amazing experience! The food and drinks are on another level from any other Mexican food restaurant in Bwood. The waitstaff did a great job of explaining the menu's influence. I have been to this restaurant four to five times now and every time I go, everything has been excellent. From the food to the drinks to the service everything is good. The grilled salmon is the best I've had anywhere in this town. The tenderloin salad is delicious. It was cooked exactly like I like it. I highly recommend the Mexican martini, I t's my new favorite drink to have. If you haven't tried this place I suggest you do. It is definitely a gem added to the downtown Brownwood food scene. read more

I was hoping for a Good Meal today at a New Restaurant in Town. I ate with a group of people and which none will come back to this restaurant again. The food was not that great and being a New restaurant just a couple months it's critical that your food is excellent to establish your reputation in quality and service. I have been twice and had very good experiences both times. The remodel of the old building is awesome to add to downtown Brownwood. The service was good the first visit and great the second visit! The food was excellent both times. I really enjoyed the grilled shrimp. People at my table order various items and no one was disappointed. We loved the chips and salsa! As with any new restaurant in Brownwood, they are bombarded in the first weeks while the staff is still figuring things out. Be patient. I'm thankful for businesses that invest their time and money in Brownwood ! read more

After church on Easter we took our family out for noon meal and we called ahead to make sure they were not swamped like most places and they were not. When we got there they seated us and took our order quite quickly and brought chips and salsa to the table but then took about 20 minutes to get our drink order after asking 3 times and an hour to get our food. Got 2 of our orders wrong but we did not complain, it was Easter. I was almost through with my nachos (Loaded Nachos no meats) when they decided to bring the meat for them. The waitress brought the hand held credit card machine to the table and we ask the price because there was no ticket to look at just the handheld and she told us the price of the bill ($91.92) but we did not know that she added an extra 20% on top of that price for a tip, so they got the 20% they added plus the cash tips left on the table, it was definitely not that good of service or food. We would not have known if my wife had not ask for a receipt, a few minutes later the waitress brought another receipt and stated the 2 grandchildren's meals were suppose to be free and this receipt ($78.96) would show that but the new receipt did not show the tip either and there was no deduction on the tip (which made the tip over 23%) when we checked our credit card a few days later. We did not look at the receipt until we left to see just exactly what they had done. Tried to call the restaurant but they never answered so left a message for them to return our call. No return call as of this time. Will definitely will not go back and would not recommend it to anyone. First place we have ever been in Brownwood Texas that adds their own tip and does not allow you the option to tip as per quality of the service received. read more

I'm been there 3 times. I first time I ordered cheese enchiladas and I didn't care for them. My husband steak on his salad was cold. I ordered the chicken fajitas the next time and they were good. But the bar service was very disappointing. The young lady was trying but the drinks were not good. Sent several back. I also paid for guacamole that I never received. read more

I didn't think it was fair to not give this restaurant a second chance. My wife and I visited for a second time. The greeter was very enthusiastic and the wait staff was very attentive to every detail. If all you want is chips and salsa, this is the best place in town. We also had the Guacamole Fresco which was very good. Kind of expensive at $12 but worth the price because it was very good. We also had two bowls of Charro Beans, since we do not care for refried beans. Don't expect to substitute Charro Beans for the refried beans on the plate. A bowl of charro beans is $6, and the taste and quality is not worth the price. Main course was shrimp and crab enchiladas with refried black beans and cilantro lime rice. I suggest you unwrap the enchiladas and eat the crab and shrimp unless you like wet gooey flour tortillas. Maybe I should have gotten something besides enchiladas. However, enchiladas are kind of a mainstay for Mexican restaurants. If you can't get the enchiladas right, it makes you wonder about the rest of the menu. read more
