My friends met me here for lunch. It was my first time but they have eaten here regularly and said it was good. We sat out on the patio since it was such a nice day. They have a nice back yard to complement the view. The chips and salsa were already on the table when I arrived. Our server was always prompt and checked in on us regularly. I ordered the three enchiladas plate and selected two with ground beef and one with cheese. One friend ordered the fish tacos while his better half selected the salad. Another friend got the mini tacos in beef and chicken. All of our food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and margaritas. I am going to be a repeat customer now too. read more

Had the most bizarre experience here. The service was pretty bad and the food blah. I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla and what I got was a chicken taco with cheese. When I told the server that I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla, he said that was it. I said no, there should be pepper and onions with the chicken and cheese. And he legit argued with me that it was a chicken fajita quesadilla. Instead of realizing their mistake and owning up to the fact they gave me chicken and cheese tacos, they just brought out a side of peppers and onions lol. This place is a JOKE! read more

This place has gone downhill the last few months, so I believe we've made our last trip there today. We were seated with no menus, server came to take our drink orders & later brought us menus. Still no silverware or napkins for the chips and hot sauce. Server came and took our order, still no silverware or napkins. Overheard him tell somebody else that they "needed to go make some more silverware". Our food was delivered. Still no silverware and napkins. He then told Us they needed to go make some more silverware. I ended up walking into the restaurant (since we were out on the patio) and grabbed a handful of napkins. Of course, our food was cool by the time we got silverware & didnt taste good. This is decent Mexican food for Brownwood. I sat for about 6 minutes before a server dropped off chips and salsa and took my order without writing it down (and she got it all right!). I ordered white queso and chicken fajitas. The fajitas came out about 3 minutes after I ordered so I know they're not throwing them on the grill, they're likely sitting in a warmer. They were...passable. Not a ton of flavor. Store-bought tortillas and I swear to god they use "wholly guacamole" - that horrible pseudo guac you can buy at the store - it should be a crime to do so at a Mexican restaurant. Terrible. Spring for the guacamole made at your table if you want something fresh (or palatable). The white queso was good as was the service after the initial wait. My michelada didn't come out until I'd had my first fajita but it was good. I'd give them another try for sure. read more

I come here often. I'd say their food is definitely much better than the last owner. My kid loves their tacos. It's not spicy and has right balance of seasonings for both kids and adults! I normally get chicken tortilla soup, and boy, that gets me full everytime! Chicken broth, shredded chicken, onions, mozzarella cheese, avocado, rice, and cilantro with tortilla chips. We were in town for 2 nights and the Hotel desk highly recommended this restaurant ... we ended up eating there both nights. The menu was very extensive, we all had something different each night and it was very good. What really stood out and was a major reason for returning to this restaurant was the OUTSTANDING service. We had different wait staff each night ... we all felt that we were valued customers and we were treated very comfortably like members of their family. We drove through Early, Tx in our way back to Val Verde County and stopped for a bite at Hacienda Leon. We were really impressed with the speed of service - they served us quickly and our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was REALLY good, everyone was pleased with our plates. We had my mom's surprise 80th birthday party here today. I previously called to let them know we had a group of about 25 coming. When I called they told me they don't take reservations on weekends but that they would write it down. When we got there they had it all set up and ready for us. The service was fantastic. The food came out so quick. Everything was wonderful and they accommodated us so well! Definitely recommend! read more

If your of idea of Mexican street corn is a pack of frozen coblets boiled, over seasoned, and then put under a heat lamp- this is the place for you, provided you've never been to Mexico. My main entree of two cheese enchiladas with beef taco, rice and beans. This was equally unremarkable. Bland and boring...although the odd red hue of the rice added a splash of something for the eyes. If a grandmother from Wisconsin bought a book of Tex-Mex recipes, this is what I would expect to be the result. Very unimaginative and poorly assembled...a gooey blob of no bueno. So glad we took a chance and stopped. The place was packed...but y'all know that doesn't always mean good. Haciendas isn't good....it's EXCELLENT!! The restaurant itself is clean and very well staffed. We waited just a few minutes to be seated. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. And let me tell you it's a huge menu with sooooo many things I could have tried. A sampler platter would have been great but guess that means we will Just need to go back. The salsa was so good with just the right amount of spice to it. I had the tortilla soup...the servings are HUGE!! The prices were on point as well. Management and other wait staff stopped by the table to make sure we didn't need anything. OMG. Absolutely the best place I have ever eaten in Texas. The atmosphere is very appealing to the eye. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. The place is clean, very clean which is a plus for me. We started off with table side guacamole which was so delicious, perfect amount of everything! Our main dishes were oh so delicious. I got the grilled shrimp with rice. My husband got a beef enchilada and our son got the shrimp and stuff in the pineapple! We all shared a taste of each others food and ver very satisfied. I really love this place! They have a fantastic chef. The char on the shrimp I got was perfect along with the onions tomatoes and jalapeños. I highly recommend this place! You can be sure we will be back next time we're in the area. Might even make a special trip. It's not often I find a restaurant that I don't have at least one complaint. I am very picky.
