Over the last few days I've had a chicken salad from Taco Sisters and one from Zea's - which is a few blocks away Taco Sisters. Taco Sisters win hands down! They served fresh food, with a great tasty variety of tomatoes, olives, cheese, carrots, olives, and so much more. Taco sisters 2016 v/s 2021 well my once 5 star rave of this place was because the food was stellar. Tonight at 6:15pm on a Tuesday, food was mediocre at best. Smoked Pork Burrito only had pork on one side. The Soy Ginger looked cloudy and didn't pick the norm flavor. Little guy at the register was super sweet but, as far as food..... very disappointed in the quality compared to the other restaurant downtown many moons ago. read more

As always the good was fresh and amazing !! I love Taco Sisters. My complaint is about a gentleman not wearing his mask properly. I have severe lung disease, I have been cooped up for 6 months now. The only thing I can do for fun is pick up food as finances allow. So when I decide to treat myself out to lunch with my husband. And get my food and I see an man in there there has his mask hanging on his ear ( it does NO good that way ) it makes me worry. I know they say you can't get it from that. But they don't really know how people get this virus. Please people wear your mask if not for yourself for people like me that live in fear for their life each day. I get a cold I end up in the hospital. I get this I probably die. I know the masks are no fun. But they are necessary right now. Mask up Louisiana ! For others ! read more

Having been to both the downtown location and the food truck, I have to say the food is consistently good across all venues. The location is easy to get to during the lunch rush and despite the parking lot being full when my friends and I pulled in the first time, we ordered quickly and got our food in almost no time. This location seems like it has more in the menu, but it is a bigger place so that would make sense. Overall everything tasted great and the service was good. I got the shrimp burrito which was good, but my favorite is the brisket. Give it a try. read more

I like this place because of the "very veggie" option since i'm vegan. However, i've ordered it numerous times and have been pleased but last time there was cheese added which was very disappointing. Recently i tried taco sisters for the first time and i was very disappointed. It looks like such a cute restaurant but the food is terrible. I ordered tacos, and the beef was greasier than anything I've ordered from Taco Bell. It didn't even taste like Mexican food either It just tased like burned beef with lots of grease. The lettuce looked old and there was a big chunk from the end of a head of romaine in the taco. There was also some strange item in the taco, which i haven't been able to identify but It feels rubbery. Its like the casing of some food or a wrapper. Never again. read more

This place is the real deal. I had the burrito with brisket and added cheese and onions, black beans and apples. It was phenomenal. We also had a side of the chicken chili. It tasted so fresh and was absolutely delicious. We had a sundae for dessert that they said was made with smoked ice cream. I don't know what that means but it was fantastic! They also have delicious fresh juices. Refreshing! The staff was friendly and helpful. I want to add that I got all this to go and they were fast and efficient getting us our food. It was really nice to have a yummy meal made with fresh ingredients that I picked up and brought home. Prices are very reasonable. The food at Taco Sisters is always amazing, delicious and fresh. It is my favorite spot in Lafayette! As a pescatarian I really appreciate their smoked seafood options. This pseudo hippie place was a terrible disappointment. I had heard so many good things about it. The burrito I ordered, knowing it wouldn't be a REAL Mexican burrito, was disgusting. It didn't even resemble a burrito or anything. Really wet and messy and embarrassing to eat. AND, outrageously expensive. I was hoping for at least a 4 star meal. I thought I should try it rather than go to one of my favorite restaurants, Bangkok Thai, practically next door. If in the vicinity, go to Bangkok Thai. read more

I'm honestly not sure how this place got 4 1/2 Stars... we weren't expecting authentic Mexican food or anything but what we got was barely edible. The hubby got a ground beef taco which resembled dog food to be honest. I got the brisket taco which was stringy and a far cry from brisket! The best thing we were served was the bottled Dos Equis. I feel like this is trying to be a spin off of Torchy's or Freebirds in Texas but it is nowhere near! Great food! Love the customability and quality ingredients. Only issue is I think the chips bag is somewhat skimp, minor tho.

Offers gluten free option. Didn't understand menu and price but it was one "large" taco. This might be because I ordered gluten free--meat was very flavorful-- it's a la carte. Others in restaurant go the salad and it looked great. Very large and comes with chips. Would recommend either though I could have used a few chips as I was still hungry afterwards. Husband brought me a fish taco home from here. It was so good I'm mad he didn't bring me two!

I am not a big fan of Mexican food. My girlfriend however loves it. She would constantly tell me that we "HAVE to try Taco Sisters. Everyone says it's amazing." I never wanted to because I didn't think it would be THAT good. BOY WAS I WRONG. That taco changed my life. At first I was considering not even getting one because, I mean $5 for 1 taco? Crazy. As soon as we got to that drive thru menu though- something told me I had to. 3 and a half minutes later I had that ground beef taco in my hand and it was HOT. It was beautiful. Everything about it, the smell, the texture, the FLAVOR. I'm not going to beat around the bush or lie. That taco made me cry. It was like coming home to a place I never even knew I was missing. That taco was the equivalent of having a conversation with god. Everyone who works at Taco Sisters is invited to my wedding, my kids birth, my birthday, and even my funeral. I've never in all my 21 years on earth have ever had something that good. I can gladly say that I will 1000% be back to Taco Sisters. I'd pay ANY amount to have another one of those tacos. $5? These folks have a wide array of somewhat unusual items. The service is great, ingredients are fresh, and the food is delicious.
